Tesla rental in Honolulu, HI

Car was fantastic. From now on, will always rent a Tesla with FSD. Would definitely rent this one again the next time we are in Oahu.

Our experience with this host was excellent. We booked at the last minute, and when our travel plans changed unexpectedly, we asked if an even earlier pickup was possible. He went above and beyond to accommodate us and had the car ready ahead of schedule. Throughout the trip, he was incredibly responsive, helpful, and supportive whenever we had questions. He even let us use his Supercharging account, which made charging much easier and saved us from having to worry about the billing. The car itself is in great shape, especially for an older Tesla. It was very clean, drove well, and was a fun way to explore the island. This was my first experience driving a Tesla, so there was definitely a learning curve. I was surprised by how much time we spent charging and by how limited the charging options were around Waikiki. That’s more of a Tesla ownership experience than anything related to this host or his vehicle. The only suggestion I’d make is to include a J1772-to-Tesla adapter with the car if possible. Our condo had an EV charger, but because it wasn’t a Tesla connector, we couldn’t use it. Having that adapter would have made charging much more convenient during our stay. Overall, I have nothing but positive things to say about this host. He was accommodating, communicative, and made the rental process incredibly easy. I’d happily rent from him again. Thank you

Without exaggeration, Gary stands out as the best owner — truly in a different league from other 5-star hosts. Many people simply lend out cars they rarely drive, which often means the vehicles are not properly maintained. Gary is completely different. He takes excellent care of his Tesla. When you get in the car, I recommend checking the tire pressure first. Gary always keeps it at 42 PSI. Because Teslas are quite heavy, tire pressure naturally drops by about 0.5 PSI per month. If left unchecked for six months, it can easily fall to 37–38 PSI, increasing the risk of punctures. That’s why I strongly recommend renting from a conscientious and well-maintained owner like Gary.

He is an incredibly kind and accommodating owner. First, I accidentally mixed up 6 PM and 6 AM, and he graciously agreed to change the reservation without any issue. Then, when I asked if we could move it to 9 PM instead, he kindly agreed to that as well. On top of that, even though our dinner ran late and it was past 9 PM, he came all the way to our restaurant to pick us up. I honestly can’t imagine a more thoughtful and customer-focused owner. He deserves far more than 5 stars—I would give him 100 stars if I could. Everyone should rent a car from him.

Awesome experience! The host was super patient and accommodated our schedule changes for pickup time and location with a great attitude. The car was sparkling clean, smelled amazing, and was in perfect condition. It’s a Tesla, and the host adding us to the profile made the whole process incredibly convenient. Driving this in Hawaii was so comfortable and fun. Would definitely rent again!

I had a fantastic experience renting this Model 3, and Steven absolutely earned a 5-star rating! The rental process was incredibly seamless. Steven had the car added to my Tesla app before pickup, which made getting on the road an absolute breeze. He was exceptionally responsive and great to work with. He even saved the day when my wife accidentally closed the frunk with my phone locked inside! The only minor nitpick during the trip was that the J1772 adapter was missing from the car. Because of that, we couldn't use standard chargers and had to drive 30-40 minutes each way to hit the Supercharger down south. Just a quick heads up to future renters regarding the Turo platform itself (these are Turo issues, completely unrelated to Steven): Turo sends the pickup instructions via email rather than in the app, which I didn't realize until I had already dropped the car off and went searching for them. Additionally, Turo doesn't allow drop-off until right before your scheduled return time. I had to officially request a time change in the app just to be allowed to drop the car off a bit early. Despite Turo's app quirks, the car was great, Steven was a phenomenal host, and I would highly recommend renting from him!

Glen was Fantastic and highly recommend 100/10 if you want to rent a car, or like me and are deciding whether to get a Tesla and just wanna get a feel for a few days Glen is the guy to go to! Answered any questions I had or if I needed help with certain features on the car!

Fantastic experience renting this Tesla for our week on Oʻahu, would absolutely recommend. Communication was great and instructions were clear with all the details.. I had never rented a Tesla from Turo before, and now I will never rent anything but a Tesla from Turo now. And if I am ever in Oahu again, I will definitely rent this Tesla. It was amazing.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Stars – Best Turo Experience Ever! I rented this 2023 Tesla Model Y for a full 10-day trip on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, and it was an absolute highlight of my vacation. This car made exploring the island so much more enjoyable. The host was fantastic — the Model Y was delivered spotless inside and out, fully charged, and ready to go. Communication was quick and helpful, with great tips on local Superchargers and the best routes around the island. Pickup and drop-off were seamless. Driving the Model Y around Oahu was pure joy. The instant torque made merging onto the H-1 and climbing up to the North Shore effortless and fun. The quiet, smooth ride was perfect for long scenic drives along the Windward Coast and the stunning Pali Highway. I easily handled everything from beach hopping in Waikiki to hiking trails and even a full day circling the island. The range was more than sufficient (especially with the excellent Tesla Supercharger network on Oahu), and the autopilot features were a lifesaver in Honolulu traffic. The spacious interior and massive cargo area were ideal for all our beach gear, coolers, snorkel equipment, and luggage. The premium sound system paired perfectly with ocean views, and the climate control kept us comfortable even on those warm Hawaiian days. No mechanical issues whatsoever — the car performed flawlessly the entire 10 days. If you’re visiting Oahu and considering a Tesla on Turo, book this one without hesitation. First time in Hawaii/Oahu, First time renting and driving an electric vehicle, first time driving a cyber truck. Highlight of the Trip! The vehicle is very clean and well taken care of. My family loved it and we definitely have a new liking to Tesla/Electric Vehicles. The experience was great. The owner/host was very accessible and flexible with our plans. We had an unfortunate event back home which caused us to cut our trip short. Luckily there was availability and the host was very accommodating to our change in plans. 2nd time using Turo and will likely continue to utilize it in the future. Highly recommend this vehicle and host.

I had just arrived from Japan and couldn't speak a word of English, but this person was incredibly kind—using an app to explain things, making gestures, and speaking slowly for me. Since the Cybertruck isn't sold in Japan, getting to experience it firsthand was a truly rare treat. My first experience with Full Self-Driving (FSD) was also incredibly special—it’s actually smarter than a human driver! To be honest, I didn't come to Hawaii just for the sightseeing; I came specifically because I wanted to drive a Cybertruck.
