Andre Haddad Chief Executive Officer

Andre loves cars, the consumer web, and the environment, and Turo brings all three of his passions into perfect harmony. Before joining Turo as CEO in September 2011, Andre was CEO of Shopping.com, the leading online comparison-shopping network that eBay acquired in 2005 for $600 million. Prior to Shopping.com, he was Senior Vice President, Product at eBay, where he was responsible for product management, design, and research at eBay’s global marketplace business. Andre played several roles during his time at eBay, including GM in Europe, VP, International Operations, and VP, User Experience and Design.

Before his eBay days, Andre co-founded iBazar, a leading European auction marketplace, which was acquired by eBay in 2001 for $140 million. Andre was COO at iBazar, overseeing Product, Marketing, Operations, and International. Prior to iBazar, he was brand manager at Procter & Gamble and a consultant at Booz Allen & Hamilton. He graduated from HEC Paris.

Alex Benn President

Alex has been driving and sharing since age 3; his parents liked the sharing much better. He later piloted vehicles from mopeds to Maseratis, worked as a mechanic, circled North America on a modified sportbike, and created an informal car sharing program in the 1990s. Alex was VP of Business Development at Walmart’s Global Ecommerce division, and led Strategy and Business Development at Minted and Fidex, two online marketplaces. Alex began his online career at eBay in 1999, executing many of eBay’s significant early partnerships following his time as a lawyer at Cooley Godward. He is a graduate of Stanford Law School and Brown University.

Lorie Boyd Chief People Officer

With nearly 25 years’ experience working in Silicon Valley under her belt, Lorie is responsible for everything people-related at Turo: recruiting, benefits, compensation, immigration, performance management, retention, learning & development, employee engagement, and reward & recognition. She has a background in finance, technology, and human resources, having initially worked at PriceWaterhouseCoopers as an auditor, later moving to Oracle as a university recruiting manager, and then landing her first HR manager role working for a then-unknown startup called Salesforce.com in 2000. Before joining Turo, Lorie served as the VP of People at Kahuna and Womply. Previous to those leadership roles, Lorie led global recruiting for Zendesk, growing the company from 100+ employees to nearly 900 employees in three years across nine offices worldwide.

Lorie received her Economics degree from Stanford University and also attended the University of Southern California for graduate studies in Accounting and Taxation.

Michelle Fang Chief Legal Officer

Michelle’s passion for online marketplaces started when she joined eBay in 2006, where she experienced the sense of community and purpose that marketplaces offer. While at eBay, Michelle served in a number of legal leadership positions, including Head of Global Intellectual Property, Head of North American Litigation, and most recently, General Counsel of StubHub. Prior to her online career, Michelle worked in-house as a lawyer at NBC Universal and at the Quinn Emanuel law firm in Los Angeles. Michelle is a graduate of UC Berkeley School of Law and UCLA. Michelle’s first car was a really sweet manual transmission Nissan 200SX complete with a provocative license plate. When she’s not working to make the Turo experience the best it can be, Michelle can be found driving around the East Bay with her husband and two children in a sensible, but still sweet, Prius.

Avinash Gangadharan Chief Technology Officer

Avinash loves the sharing economy, marketplaces and the consumer space. He brings in 20+ years of experience building the fundamentals of marketplace, payments and retail. He has grown through the ranks in companies like eBay, PayPal and Walmartlabs starting as an entry level engineer and ending up building large teams delivering software at scale on web and mobile. Avinash holds a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science.

Andrew Mok Chief Marketing Officer

Ever since Andrew first plugged into the WWW via his 56k dial-up modem, he’s obsessed over finding online ways to improve the offline world. None more inspiring than putting the world’s 1B cars to better use. He joined Turo in January 2012 and worked on everything from finance to marketing and analytics. As CMO, Andrew is focused on building a best-in-class team of full-stack marketers, growing the business profitably, and making Turo an iconic brand globally. Previously, Andrew was VP of Growth at DogVacay, strategy consultant at Bain & Company, and front-end developer for Life360. He graduated from UC Berkeley with degrees in Computer Science & Business.

Ned Sizer Chief Financial Officer

Ned brings extensive experience enabling technology companies to grow and scale on their way to successful IPOs and M&A exits. Additionally, he has deep experience in fundraising, strategic planning, budgeting, and analytics.

Prior to joining Turo, Ned held CFO and senior leadership positions in Bay Area technology companies including Sequoia Consulting Group, Hightail, Ancestry.com, Silver Spring Networks, Omniture, Macromedia, and Siebel. Prior to relocating to San Francisco in March of 2000, Ned spent a decade at Ford Motor Company working on new model vehicle programs.

Tom Wang Chief Product Officer

Tom has extensive experience creating world-class Internet and mobile products. His background includes product leadership roles at large public companies including America Online and Nokia, and groundbreaking Silicon Valley start-ups, such as Formspring, Spinner, and Organic. Tom holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s degree from Northwestern.

Brian Beaver Vice President of Design

Brian’s first four-wheeled love affair began with a late ‘80s Saab Turbo, and he’s been an automotive enthusiast ever since. He spent 14 years leading design teams at Sony where his most recent project was to transform Sony’s mobile-optimized global web UX. After Sony, he applied his leadership talents to growing and elevating the design discipline at Eventbrite, leading up to their successful IPO. Brian brings a wealth of knowledge around articulating a design vision, building high-performing teams, and delivering delightful and impactful user experiences at scale.

Ali Keegan Vice President, Legal

Ali’s most vivid car memory is riding shotgun beside her sister in a vintage Chevy Nova with interchangeable gear shift knobs of every color. Her first car was Dotty — a 1986 Mazda 626 with no power steering. Ali brings deep marketplace expertise to Turo from her time at Airbnb and Stubhub, as well as a wealth of additional knowledge as a lawyer for both Skype and Sun Microsystems. She began her legal career at Wilson Sonsini and is a graduate of Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and Stanford University.

Brent Loder Vice President of Finance

A car aficionado since before he got his driver’s license at age 16, Brent is passionate about helping build a marketplace to help put the world’s 1.5 billion cars to better use. Brent brings his 20+ years of experience as both an operator and investor to Turo where he leads the Financial Planning & Analytics and Investor Relations functions. Prior to joining Turo, Brent was the Head of Finance at HotelTonight, becoming the Head of Finance for Airbnb’s Hotels division with their acquisition of HotelTonight. Brent also spent 11+ years as a public market investor at Franklin Templeton where he managed portfolios totaling more than $1.5 billion in assets.

Brent received his bachelor’s degree in history from UCLA and received an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.

Albert Mangahas Vice President of Analytics & Insights

Born and raised in Los Angeles, car sharing has always been part of Albert's LA life — from borrowing pickup trucks to move across town, to sharing SUVs to go snowboarding, to sharing cars to shuttle DJ equipment all across Southern California.

Albert has over 13 years of experience unlocking the value and hidden potential of data to transform data into actionable insights. Joining Turo in 2016, Albert has led efforts on Finance and Data Analytics. As VP of Analytics and Insights, Albert is focused on leveling up Turo's analytical capabilities, building a world class analytics team, and maintaining Turo's data driven culture.

Previously, Albert was Head of Analytics for Data Transparency and Social Impact at Facebook, VP of Revenue Analytics at Green Dot Corporation, and a data analytics consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He graduated from University of Southern California with a degree in Industrial Systems Engineering.

Cedric Mathieu Vice President of Canada

As Vice President in charge of Turo Canada, Cedric spearheaded Turo’s first international expansion in 2016 and now oversees all Turo activities north of the border. Since launching in Canada, Cedric has been on a mission to reinvent the way Canadians think about their cars, and to bring peer-to-peer car sharing to all Canadians.

Previously, Cedric was a co-founder at WeSawIt, a tech startup providing a fan engagement platform to the live entertainment industry. Prior to WeSawIt, Cedric advised international brands and retailers on e-commerce strategies at Javelin Group, a subsidiary of Accenture Strategy. A native of France, Cedric holds an MS in Management from HEC Paris, and an MS in Entrepreneurship from RSM Erasmus University in Rotterdam.

Roy Schaham Vice President of Product Management

Before joining Turo, Roy spent seven years at eBay building products for both buyers and sellers and developing a passion for the unique dynamics of online marketplaces. As Vice President of Product Management at Turo, he leads a team of Product Managers focused on delivering outstanding customer experiences and growing the marketplace profitably. Prior to his career in consumer technology, Roy was an investment analyst at The Carlyle Group. He holds a MBA from UC Berkeley and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Jennifer Schultz Vice President, Corporate Controller

Jennifer has over 20 years of accounting experience, working with both public and pre-IPO technology companies. Jennifer has spent the last decade helping high growth pre-IPO companies scale, prepare for public company readiness, and navigate the registration process. Prior to joining Turo, Jennifer held various leadership roles in accounting at AppDynamics, Coverity, MobiTV, and Macromedia. She started her career in public accounting at Ernst & Young LLP. Jennifer holds a BA in Business (with an emphasis in accounting) from the University of Washington.

Francisco Silva Vice President of Tax

Born and raised in Mexico, Francisco attended law school, got a master’s in taxation, and practiced tax litigation in Mexico before moving to the United States, where he pursued to an LL.M in International Taxation from Temple University. With over 18 years of experience, Francisco has advised companies both as a consultant during his years with Ernst & Young and as an in-house tax specialist with Fortune 500s. In addition to his tax experience, Francisco has managed teams in Treasury, Risk Management, Investor Relations, and Regional General Management.

Steve Webb Vice President of Communications and Brand Partnerships

Steve leads communications at Turo and, having never owned a car, is a frequent Turo user. Since joining Turo in 2012 as the company’s first in-house communications lead, Steve has overseen telling the Turo story to consumers, legislators, and business stakeholders worldwide. Prior to joining Turo, Steve worked on communications and brand building for environmental NGOs, cleantech companies, and early-stage startups. Based in San Francisco, he spent four years in Beijing working on communications campaigns for Fortune 500 companies around the 2008 Olympic Games. Steve has a BA in History from the University of California, San Diego.

Julie Weingardt Vice President of Operations

Julie is an operations executive who believes the most important customer interaction is the one that happens next. Julie strives to transform customer touchpoints into powerful relationships and brand-building tools through the use of highly efficient business practices, whether consumers choose phone, chat, SMS, email, social, or self service. With 30 years of operations and contact center experience, she is particularly skilled at developing and executing omni-channel operational solutions across a wide variety of verticals using combinations of internal and outsourced teams. In addition to Turo, her career background includes executive operational roles at Startek, Sitel, and Sykes.

Susan Athey Economics of Technology Professor Stanford Graduate School of Business

Susan Athey is the Economics of Technology Professor at Stanford Graduate School of Business. She received her bachelor’s degree from Duke University and her PhD from Stanford, and she holds an honorary doctorate from Duke University. She previously taught at the economics departments at MIT, Stanford and Harvard. Her current research focuses on the economics of digitization, marketplace design, and the intersection of econometrics and machine learning. She has worked on several application areas, including timber auctions, internet search, online advertising, the news media, and the application of digital technology to social impact applications. As one of the first “tech economists,” she served as consulting chief economist for Microsoft Corporation for six years, and now serves on the boards of Expedia, Lending Club, Rover, Turo, and Ripple, as well as non-profit Innovations for Poverty Action. She also serves as a long-term advisor to the British Columbia Ministry of Forests, helping architect and implement their auction-based pricing system. She is the director of the Shared Prosperity and Innovation Initiative at Stanford GSB, and associate director of the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence.

Bjoern Avemark Managing Director of Daimler Mobility Services Daimler

Bjoern Avemark serves as Managing Director of Daimler Mobility Services and has been with Daimler for over 13 years, spending about 10 years in Northeast Asia (Japan, Korea, and China) working in Business Development, Strategy, Operations, Mobility Services, and Venture Building. From this experience, he brings a broad perspective to his current role as Managing Director of Daimler Mobility Services, managing the investment portfolio in the mobility space and adjacent areas. He works closely with entrepreneurs and serves as a board director, observer in several portfolio companies. Bjoern lives in Berlin with his wife and two daughters. He holds an MBA in Finance, and a diploma in Business Administration with a focus on IT.

Howard Hartenbaum Partner August Capital

Howard Hartenbaum joined August Capital in 2008. Prior to joining, he served as a General Partner at Draper Richards LP where he was the founding investor in Skype and a former member of the board of directors where his achievement resulted in his joining the Forbes Midas List of top venture capitalists.

Before entering the venture capital field, Howard was at Hughes Electronics, where he was responsible for supporting business development, marketing and sales of satellite, information security and automotive technologies developed by HRL Laboratories. He also worked in engineering positions in ergonomics and user experience at Honda Motor Company and manufacturing at Teledyne Relays.

Howard has worked overseas for a total of ten years in Luxembourg and Japan. He is a graduate of M.I.T.

Deepak Kamra General Partner Canaan Partners

Deepak has been with Canaan Partners for over 20 years, focusing on investments in digital media and software. Deepak has wide-ranging interests, and thrives on risk. He led Canaan’s early investment in DoubleClick, the Internet’s first and leading online advertising solution, as well as Canaan’s investment in Acme Packet, a leading network security and virtualization company, and SuccessFactors, a pioneering cloud software company for human resources management.

Deepak received a BA from Carleton University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He was included on the Forbes Midas List in 2008 and 2009. He was a member of the board of the National Venture Capital Association from 2008 to 2012. In his spare time, he is involved in several microfinance initiatives to spur economic growth in developing nations, and has served as Chairman of the Investment Committee at Deutsche Bank’s Global Commercial Microfinance Consortium.

Joey Levin Chief Executive Officer IAC

Appointed to the position in June 2015, Mr. Levin is responsible for the strategic leadership of IAC and its operating businesses. In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors of IAC.

Prior to this, Mr. Levin was the CEO of IAC Search & Applications, overseeing the desktop software, mobile applications, and media properties that comprise IAC’s Search & Applications segment: About.com, Apalon, Ask.com, ASKfm, Citysearch, CityGrid, Dictionary.com, Investopedia, Mindspark, PriceRunner, and SlimWare. In this role he was responsible for setting overall strategy and maximizing opportunities across IAC’s Search and Applications brands.

From November 2009 to January 2012, Mr. Levin served as Chief Executive Officer of Mindspark Interactive Network, an IAC subsidiary. Prior to his appointment at Mindspark, Mr. Levin served as Senior Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions and Finance for IAC, and has held various roles within IAC since joining the company in 2003. Prior to joining IAC, Mr. Levin worked in the Technology Mergers & Acquisitions group for Credit Suisse First Boston (now Credit Suisse) in San Francisco advising public and private technology and e-commerce companies on a variety of transactions.

Mr. Levin is present Chairman of the boards of Match Group, Inc. and ANGI Homeservices Inc. and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Turo. He previously served on the Groupon (NASDAQ: GRPN) Board of Directors from March 2017 until July 2019, as well as that of Tree.com (NASDAQ: TREE) from August 2008 until November 2014. Mr. Levin served on the Board of Directors of The Active Network (NYSE: ACTV) from February 2008 through its IPO and up until its sale to Vista Equity Partners for $1 billion in December 2013. He graduated from the Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology from the University of Pennsylvania, with a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School and a B.A.S. in Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Mr. Levin also currently serves on the Undergraduate Executive Board of Wharton School.

Brook Porter Partner Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers

Brook Porter joined Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers in 2010 and is a partner in KPCB’s Green Growth Fund (GGF), supporting young companies leading new markets in sustainable ways. He seeks multi-stage investments at the nexus of sustainability and technology innovation, with a focus on Transportation, Agriculture, and Distributed Generation. Brook works closely with entrepreneurs and serves as a board director, observer and/or advisor for Amprius, Amyris (Nasdaq: AMRS, 2010), Bloom Energy, Kaiima, Farmer’s Edge, BlueOak, Elcomax, Luxvue (acquired 2014), Orcan, Renmatix, Siluria, and Turo.

A serial entrepreneur, Brook brought more than a decade of renewable energy expertise to KPCB. He co-founded two sustainable transport companies: Intelligent Energy, a fuel cell technology company and Primafuel, a low-carbon fuels company. Brook’s roles in both companies ranged from R&D to leading engineering and operations to driving multiple financings for the company. Brook was a co-developer of the electric ENV Motorcycle, recognized by TIME magazine and Popular Science as one of the best inventions of 2005.

Brook holds a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, with an emphasis in environmental technology. He is named on multiple U.S. and international patents in the field of renewable energy, including energy conversion and catalysis. Brook is married and has both a daughter and a son. He enjoys skiing, cooking, triathlons, and adventurous travel.

Mark Stein Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer IAC

Mark Stein serves as Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer of IAC, where he is responsible for working with the senior leadership of IAC’s operating businesses to develop their strategic initiatives and execute on major growth opportunities.

Mr. Stein was formerly the Chief Strategy Officer of IAC Search & Applications and Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at IAC, a position he had held since 2008. Before that, Mr. Stein served in various senior roles within IAC’s operating businesses, including Executive Vice President of Corporate and Business Development at IAC Search & Media and its predecessor Ask Jeeves, Inc. Prior to Ask Jeeves, Mr. Stein served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Interactive Search Holdings (ISH), where he managed all legal affairs and business development.

Mr. Stein was also an attorney with Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where he represented technology firms, media companies, and professional sports players associations.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of ANGI Homeservices Inc., Match Group, and Remedy Health Media.

Mr. Stein graduated from the Benjamin Franklin Scholar Program at the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics from the Wharton School and a BA in American History from the College of Arts and Sciences.
