When you can pry your eyes away from the bright lights of Times Square, soaring skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building, and impressive monuments, you’ll discover New York has the best of the best no matter what scene.
For arts and culture, find a show on Broadway or visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art, or “The Met.” Fancy a nice green space? Central Park, Battery Park, or the High Line will impress. If you just want to shop and eat your way through the city, New York has endless possibilities awaiting.
For first-time visitors, these classic must-see attractions offer great starting points to get acquainted with New York.
NY’s expansive Central Park is perhaps the most famous city park in the world, where you can row a boat on the lake, picnic on the Great Lawn or Sheep’s Meadow, catch Shakespeare in the Park, or get a whiff of the roses at the Conservatory Garden.
Take a ferry to visit the shining symbol of America’s immigrant heritage, the bold independence of the United States, and the promises of the New World, and be sure to stop off for a tour at Ellis Island on the way.
In midtown Manhattan, you can get 360 views of the bustling city below from one of New York’s most iconic landmarks. Lines and crowds are reliably big, but the 86th Floor Observatory and the top deck on the 102nd floor are worth the wait.

The bustling pace of the Big Apple can leave your head spinning, and iconic urban sites like the Brooklyn Bridge, Rockefeller Center, Coney Island, and Bryant Park are certainly worth a visit. But the areas outside the city also offer a wealth of activities — travelers may want to get creative and try the mountainous wilderness upstate, the beaches of New Jersey, or the fishing towns of New England.
Browse a wide range of cars on Turo to find the perfect vehicle for an escape during your vacation or business trip, and leave the busy streets of the five boroughs behind.
Book the perfect carWhether it’s unwinding on the coastlines of Fire Island and Shelter Island, exploring quaint fishing towns like Oyster Bay and Greenport, or lounging in the glamorous Hamptons, Long Island is the relaxation destination east of NY.
Twice the home of the Winter Olympics, this town in the Adirondack Mountains five hours up Interstate 87 features shopping, hiking, swimming, mountain biking, and Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort, the preferred winter sports destination in the Empire State.
Travel about three hours north to the Hudson River Valley to access the Catskills, which are somewhat of a rite of passage for outdoors-inclined visitors to New York. With all manner of outdoor activity available, the Catskills make for the perfect day trip or weekend getaway from the city.
My car had to be in the shop for a next day repair, so I had to rent a car for 24 hrs. I had a friend from out of town coming, so I needed to have a car that would look good and ride smooth. This car felt brand new and everything worked...it did not disappoint! I did have to wash the car, but the host was good about it, and he Zelled me the cost of the wash. I noticed, upon returning the car, that the host Ronak has a few other cars available. Loved the ride, so can't really complain. Yes, recommend it!

Awesome car. So much fun. True car enthusiasts type of car. Runs great. Great host !
I really enjoyed renting Ivan's Tesla - | loved it so much that I even extended my trip. This was my first time driving a Tesla, and the pickup process with Ivan was super easy. He's very responsive, understanding, and made everything smooth from start to finish. I will definitely rent from him again. There were way more positives than negatives. The car is beautiful, drives great, has amazing AC, and honestly made me want to buy a Tesla. My friends loved it too. For transparency, the battery life wasn't the best so I had to recharge multiple times, the car made a few small noises, and one of the windows adjustment buttons was broken. The scratches on the car didn't bother me at all. So… Amazing host, Great experience and a car that made my whole trip better. Five stars !

We rented this car for a weekend trip upstate and had a great experience. The car was clean, comfortable, and drove perfectly the entire trip. Communication with Ezquiel was amazing. He responded quickly, was very flexible with pickup and drop-off, and made the whole process easy and stress-free. Everything went smoothly with no issues at all. I would definitely rent from him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable rental.

David was a great host. The car was clean and ran smooth. Easy pick up and drop off. Always at an amazing price. I recommend.

Decent little car. Great for airport pick up and errands around town. Clean and no smell like most rental cars.

Another great trip, easy pick up/drop off, car in good condition. Would rent again!

Excellent experience! The car was spotless, well maintained, and exactly as described. Mohammed was great to work with, he communicated clearly throughout the entire process and made everything easy and stress-free. Pickup and return were smooth, and the whole rental experience was seamless. I would definitely rent from him again and highly recommend him to others!
Serge was responsive and a great host! The car drove smooth and had no problems our whole trip. I would definitely book again with Serge!

Excellent experience! The car was clean and ran perfectly. Jorge was incredibly nice and easy to communicate with. Would definitely rent from him again!

Gee was an amazing host. On point communication and easy to work with. And the car was A1. If I ever need a fun weekend again he'll be the first I'll rent from

With crowded streets, tough-to-find parking, and busy evening traffic, driving in New York can certainly be a challenge, especially in Manhattan. But the famous gridded street layout makes the island logical to navigate, so you may find walking, biking, and public transportation to be the most convenient methods of travel within the city center. The New York subway system serves all five boroughs — Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island.
From JFK International Airport, you can take the E train to popular neighborhoods like Midtown, Times Square, Penn Station, the West Village, Greenwich Village, and the World Trade Center. The J or Z trains will bring you the Lower East Side, Little Italy, Chinatown, and the Financial District. LaGuardia Airport in Queens has no direct rail link, but you can take a taxi, Uber or Lyft, Airlink shuttle, or other public transit to connect to the subway network.
If you’ll be in and out of the city, the best and fastest way to get around the tri-state area is by booking a car on Turo, so you can explore every borough, city, and outdoor activity New York has to offer at your own pace.

To speed up the process, have your additional driver create a Turo account and get approved to drive before you request to add them. All drivers must have a valid driver’s license and meet the age requirements for the car you’ve booked. You can request to add drivers via the “Trips” tab in the Turo app without additional driver charges or extra costs.
