Yvegeny was very accommodating and communicative. My family and I arrived earlier than the pick up time and Yvegeny helped me navigate the Turo app in order to change the pick up and drop off times. He also checked on us during our trip. His Mazda was spacious and has efficient. We would rent from him again.

Great rental experience! The car was exactly as described and looked just like the pictures. It was clean, reliable, and very fuel-efficient, which made our trip even better. The owner was easy to work with and made the rental process smooth from start to finish. I would definitely rent from them again and highly recommend both the vehicle and the host.
We had a great experience with this car. It comfortably fit 7 people, which was perfect for our trip. The car was very clean, drove smoothly, and was in excellent condition. Thomas was incredibly helpful, responsive, and kind throughout the entire rental process. He made everything easy and stress-free. We would definitely recommend renting from him and would be happy to rent from him again in the future.

Great trip and Yev made the rental process easy and was very helpful. I will be working with him on my next trip to Alaska.

Great car and an excellent host! The vehicle was clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described. Mark was friendly, responsive, and made the entire rental process smooth and hassle-free. I would definitely rent from them again. Highly recommended!

Paul’s gorgeous Yukon XL far exceeded our expectations! It was absolutely perfect for our group of six adults, comfortably fitting all of us along with six suitcases and six larger personal bags without ever feeling cramped. The vehicle was immaculate, exceptionally well cared for, and packed with next-level technology that made every drive enjoyable. Paul made the entire rental process seamless with easy pickup and drop-off, and he was incredibly responsive whenever we had a question. His communication and attention to detail made our trip that much more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a spacious, luxurious, and reliable vehicle, I can’t recommend Paul’s Yukon XL enough. We will definitely be renting from Paul again on our next trip. Mahalo, Paul, for helping make our Alaska adventure even more memorable!
the Jeep Compass was a good midsize SUV to rent. Jack was a good host. He accommodated my travel by dropping off his car at the Anchorage airport instead of picking it up at his address.

Everything with the car was perfect. It was easy to locate and return in the parking garage, and Melissa was super quick to respond to every question I had during the rental process. I would 100% recommend this car to anyone traveling around Alaska!

Amazing vehicle and an even better host. The car was in excellent condition and made our family trip extremely comfortable. Communication was flawless throughout the entire rental process, and the host was responsive, accommodating, and easy to work with. Highly recommend and would definitely rent again!
Everything was as smooth as it could be. Jarek is a great host and the car upgraded our trip. It’s worth the price to get a smooth riding car like what Jarek offers.
The Kia we rented exceeded my expectations. It was clean, comfortable, dependable, and much nicer than I anticipated. Throughout our trip to Alaska, it performed really well (brand new tires and all), and I never had a single concern about its reliability. Also, I opted to rent an air mattress from her as an additional item for my trip and I am so thankful I did [as I didn’t have to sleep on the rocky ground my last night of the trip while tent camping]. So if you're looking for a trustworthy rental with exceptional customer service, I highly recommend renting from Jessica Ann. I wouldn't hesitate to rent from her again. In fact, I intend to next time I come back to Anchorage!
The car was clean, spacious, and perfect for our big family. It got great gas mileage and rode very smoothly, making our trip comfortable from start to finish. Pickup and return were both simple. Overall, it was a great rental experience, and I would definitely book this vehicle again!

Reliable car, great host, great price, convenient location from hotel. Last minute booking and was a great experience.

This was the best rental decision I could have ever made! Not only for the excellent price but for the vehicle. It was the perfect size, great gas mileage and the customer care her and her husband made to ensure our vacation was perfect! I can only say that there is no way you would receive the courtesy we received by Hannah and her husband by any rental service. I’m so pleased I canceled with a chain rental and chose them. This was in thanks to Dennis at the ATV Adventure from Talkeetna who referred us to Turo! Thank you for your services and I will definitely be in touch for my annual visit to Alaska!

The host was very nice and the car was clean and in great condition when it was given to us. Pickup instructions were clear and easy to follow, which made the process smooth. The best part of the experience was the host’s honesty. I reported some damage thinking it may have happened during my trip, but she honestly acknowledged that it was already there. I really appreciated that level of integrity. She was also very helpful throughout the trip, with a friendly tone and clear guidance whenever I needed help, including with CarPlay setup and other instructions. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely rent again.
Excellent host. Car was perfect. Lots of amenities and upgrades. Drives really well and gets good mileage for a large SUV. Highly recommend this vehicle and host. Had a wonderful vacation in Alaska in part due to this wonderful car! Would rent from anytime.
Opting for an SUV rental in Anchorage opens up a world of possibilities for your Alaska adventure. These versatile vehicles offer superior handling on varying road conditions, from city streets to gravel highways. With extra cargo space for outdoor gear and a higher ground clearance, SUV rentals are ideal for navigating Anchorage's surrounding wilderness and tackling scenic mountain passes.
The Seward Highway, a National Scenic Byway, offers a stunning drive from Anchorage to Seward. This 127-mile journey showcases Alaska's diverse landscapes, from towering mountains to sparkling glaciers. An SUV rental is perfect for this route, providing a comfortable ride and the capability to handle occasional rough patches. Stop at Beluga Point for whale watching, explore the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, or hike in Chugach State Park. Pack extra layers and snacks, as weather can change quickly, and services may be limited in some areas.
Chugach State Park, one of the largest state parks in America, is a must-visit destination just minutes from downtown Anchorage. An SUV rental is ideal for accessing the park's diverse terrain, from coastal rainforests to alpine tundra. Drive the scenic Eklutna Lake Road for stunning views, or head to Flattop Mountain for popular hiking trails. Your rental SUV's spacious interior allows you to bring all necessary gear, while its all-wheel drive capability ensures safe navigation of the park's sometimes challenging roads. Remember to check trail conditions and bring appropriate outdoor essentials.
Winter in Anchorage transforms the landscape into a snowy wonderland, and an SUV rental is crucial for safe, comfortable travel. Whether you're heading to nearby ski resorts like Alyeska or exploring ice-skating spots around the city, a rental SUV provides the necessary traction and stability. Many rentals come equipped with winter tires, perfect for navigating snow-covered roads. Take advantage of heated seats and ample space for winter gear as you explore Anchorage's winter attractions. Always check road conditions before setting out, and carry emergency supplies for peace of mind.
When booking an SUV rental in Anchorage, consider your specific needs. Compact SUVs are great for city driving and moderate outdoor adventures, while full-size models offer more space and power for extensive trips. Book early, especially during peak summer months or winter ski seasons. Look for features like roof racks for extra gear storage and all-wheel drive for better handling on Alaska's diverse roads. Consider fuel efficiency for longer journeys, and familiarize yourself with the vehicle's features before embarking on your Anchorage adventure.
Popular pickup locations for SUV rentals in Anchorage include downtown and near the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. Guests can easily find hosts on Turo offering SUV rentals in these areas. For a scenic drive, consider the Seward Highway, which offers breathtaking views of the Chugach Mountains and Turnagain Arm. Another option is the Glenn Highway, leading to the Matanuska-Susitna Valley. When booking a rental car on Turo, look for hosts who offer convenient pickup options or even delivery to your location. Remember to clarify any questions about the vehicle or rental terms with your host before your trip. Always adhere to local traffic laws and avoid off-road driving, as it's prohibited and may void your protection plan.
Anchorage's winter road conditions can significantly affect SUV handling. Icy and snow-covered roads require extra caution. To improve safety, ensure your rental SUV is equipped with winter tires for better traction. Maintain a safe following distance and reduce speed, especially when approaching intersections or curves. Use engine braking by downshifting to slow down gradually. When accelerating, apply gentle pressure to avoid wheel spin. If you encounter a skid, steer into the direction of the skid and avoid sudden braking. Familiarize yourself with your SUV rental's safety features, such as anti-lock brakes and traction control. Always clear all windows and mirrors of snow and ice before driving. Lastly, pack emergency supplies like blankets and snacks in case of unexpected delays.
Anchorage offers numerous scenic routes perfect for SUV rental adventures. The Seward Highway, a National Scenic Byway, provides stunning views of the Turnagain Arm and Chugach Mountains. Drive along this route to enjoy wildlife spotting and glacier viewing opportunities. For a more rugged experience, explore the Glenn Highway towards Matanuska Glacier, where your SUV rental's capabilities will come in handy on winding mountain roads. The Hatcher Pass Road offers breathtaking alpine scenery and access to hiking trails. In winter, this area transforms into a snowy wonderland, ideal for SUV rental exploration. The Tony Knowles Coastal Trail, while not a driving route, is accessible from various points in Anchorage and offers beautiful coastal views. Remember to check road conditions before embarking on your SUV rental adventure, especially during winter months.
When selecting an SUV rental for your Anchorage adventure, consider several key factors. First, assess the vehicle's ground clearance and four-wheel drive capabilities, which are crucial for navigating Alaska's varied terrain. Look for an SUV rental with good fuel efficiency, as distances between gas stations can be substantial in remote areas. Consider the passenger and cargo capacity to ensure comfort during long drives and ample space for gear. In winter, opt for an SUV rental equipped with winter tires and features like heated seats and defrosting systems. Choose a model with reliable safety features, including stability control and advanced braking systems. Additionally, consider the SUV rental's visibility, as expansive windows can enhance your viewing experience of Alaska's stunning landscapes. Lastly, ensure the vehicle has a robust heating system to keep you comfortable in Anchorage's chilly climate.
Luxury SUV rentals offer enhanced comfort features that can significantly improve long Alaskan road trips. They typically provide superior suspension systems, resulting in a smoother ride over rough terrain. Advanced climate control systems in luxury models maintain a consistent, comfortable temperature, crucial in Alaska's variable weather. Luxury SUV rentals often boast higher-quality, more supportive seating with features like massage functions and heated/ventilated options, reducing fatigue on extended journeys. Noise insulation is generally superior in luxury models, creating a quieter cabin for a more relaxed travel experience. Additionally, luxury SUV rentals frequently include advanced infotainment systems with better sound quality and connectivity options, enhancing entertainment during long drives. While standard SUV rentals can certainly handle Alaskan conditions, luxury models provide an extra layer of comfort and convenience that can make a substantial difference on lengthy road trips through Alaska's vast landscapes.
For families exploring Anchorage, SUV rentals with ample passenger space, comfort features, and good fuel efficiency are ideal. Look for models with easy-to-clean interiors, multiple USB ports for device charging, and advanced safety features like lane departure warnings and automatic emergency braking. Third-row seating can be beneficial for larger families or extra cargo space. For those seeking rugged Alaskan adventures, prioritize SUV rentals with high ground clearance, robust four-wheel drive systems, and off-road capabilities. These models should have durable exteriors, skid plates for undercarriage protection, and all-terrain tires. Consider SUV rentals with roof racks for additional gear storage and towing capacity for trailers or boats. Regardless of your needs, ensure the SUV rental has a reliable heating system and good visibility for Anchorage's varied weather conditions.
To maximize comfort during long-distance SUV rental travel in Alaska's wilderness, start by adjusting your seat and steering wheel for optimal posture. Use lumbar support and take regular breaks to stretch and avoid fatigue. Pack pillows or cushions for additional back support. Dress in layers to easily adapt to temperature changes, and use sunshades to reduce glare on bright days. Bring plenty of water and healthy snacks to stay hydrated and energized. Utilize your SUV rental's climate control system to maintain a comfortable temperature, and consider using a blanket for added warmth during colder stretches. To enhance the journey, create a playlist of your favorite music or audiobooks. Lastly, plan your route in advance, including potential rest stops, to ensure a smooth and enjoyable trip through Alaska's breathtaking landscapes.
When renting an SUV for your Anchorage adventure, prioritize essential safety features. Look for SUV rentals equipped with electronic stability control and anti-lock braking systems, which are crucial for maintaining control on Alaska's varied road conditions. All-wheel drive or four-wheel drive capabilities are invaluable for navigating potentially slippery or uneven terrain. Ensure the SUV rental has a comprehensive airbag system, including side-curtain airbags for enhanced protection. Advanced driver assistance features like forward collision warning, lane departure alerts, and blind-spot monitoring can provide extra safety during long drives. A backup camera is essential for maneuvering in tight spaces or unfamiliar areas. Additionally, check that the SUV rental is equipped with proper winter tires if you're visiting during colder months. These safety features will help ensure a secure and enjoyable exploration of Anchorage and its surrounding areas.
Driving an SUV rental in Anchorage offers distinct advantages in maneuverability compared to other vehicle types. SUV rentals typically provide a higher driving position, offering better visibility over snow banks and through traffic, which is particularly useful during Anchorage's snowy winters. The larger wheels and increased ground clearance of SUV rentals make navigating over rough patches or small obstacles easier. However, SUV rentals may require more space for turning and parking in urban areas of Anchorage. Their size can be an advantage when driving on wider, open roads outside the city, but may require more careful handling on narrow streets. The weight distribution and four-wheel drive capabilities of many SUV rentals provide better traction on slippery roads, a common condition in Anchorage. Overall, while SUV rentals may be less nimble than smaller cars in tight city spaces, they offer superior maneuverability in diverse Alaskan terrains and weather conditions.
