BMW rental in San Mateo, CA

We rented Wade’s BMW iX for 3½ months and couldn’t have asked for a better host. He was always responsive whenever we had questions, and made the entire experience smooth and easy from start to finish. The car was fantastic, and Wade’s communication made all the difference. If we ever need to rent a car again, it’ll definitely be from him. Highly recommend!

Great trip. Flexible pick up and drop off. It costs a bit more than expected to rent this car in California because it only takes premium gas, which was not clear to me before I completed to rental process. Luxury car experience for a good price, with clean car, working AC, minor dents and scratches on the car and windshield that don’t affect the driving experience at all. It was easy pickup except that the code to unlock the box was not automatically sent through turo (probably because I was on the plane in transit to SFO with no WiFi) so I had to wait and call the owners of the vehicle to get the code late at night. They answered and were helpful and apologetic that I ran into the issue. The pick up and drop off at SFO international garage G (easy to walk to from departing check in gates and after customs at SFO) was very convenient for my travel plans.

Absolutely phenomenal experience! I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better rental experience. From the very beginning, the hosts were incredibly communicative, professional, and responsive. Their response time was extremely fast, which made the entire process smooth and stress-free. And the BMW 5 Series?! Absolutely beautiful! 😍 The car was clean, comfortable, stylish, and so much fun to drive. It drove perfectly throughout my entire trip and didn’t give me a single problem. Everything about the vehicle was fantastic, and it made getting around the Bay Area that much more enjoyable. The pickup and drop-off instructions were also very easy to follow, which made the entire process incredibly convenient. Everything was clearly communicated, and there was never any confusion about what to do. That level of organization made an already great experience even better. I truly appreciated how easy and seamless everything was with the hosts. You can tell they take pride in providing a great experience, and it definitely shows. I would absolutely rent this BMW again the next time I’m in the Bay Area, and if it’s available, I won’t hesitate to book it. If you’re considering this vehicle, BOOK IT! Zaids was an excellent host. The IX Bmw was awesome driving experience on our vacation. We broke up our Car Rental rentals Tesla two days Bmw two days I must say the Bmw blue the Tesla away the drive ability and comfort with top notch. The host gave great directions for pick up and for drop off. The house was quick to respond when we had some questions about the vehicle and charging. Loved this BMW. It is in great condition, like new. Easy pick up and drop off! A really fun car to drive and it was perfect for our trip to Santa Clara for graduation. The rental process and communication was seamless. Very quick responses to any of my messages. I would absolutely rent this car again!

The E89 BMW Z4 is a beautiful machine. Just by nature of it being a fantastic car and an enthusiast machine, I’m glad to rate it 5 stars. Turo needs more cars like this! The car is full of character. The motor runs smoothly, pulls nicely, and has a raspy growl that sounds fantastic. The ride is low and responsive; the steering is delightfully heavy, and the car goes wherever you point it. You should, however, know and expect what you’re getting yourself into. It’s a 2011 car, and sitting at around 100k miles, it’s going to have some wear and tear, and that’s sort of to be expected. I must say, most of the small issues did not bother me for the trip - if you’re looking for a fun drive, I would heartily recommend the car. See the following details as extra info for the discerning guest, not as criticism. The front bumper / lip is somewhat scuffed - might be the result of guests not knowing how to navigate a car so low. Front bumper clips don’t hold the edges in place so it does hang a little loose around the headlights. If you've never owned a car this low, I'd definitely be careful with kerbs and ramps. On my own cars, I've learned this the hard way. I didn’t have any usability issues with the hardtop convertible, despite the occasional error code on the dash as other reviewers have mentioned - I was still able to put it up and down. The mechanism is delicate so I’d definitely encourage guests to review how to properly operate it before using. You have to lower the trunk shield and latch it in place. Note that there is limited luggage space in such a car - seems obvious but don’t expect to get away with lots of stuff. Perfect though for a quick weekend getaway. The pictures in the listing are a little outdated - compared to those, the car isn’t lowered, the car is back on factory wheels (as opposed to aftermarket), and the trunk doesn’t have the black spoiler trim on the edge. I’d summarize it as being more “stock” than the listing. At the time of my trip, the tires were 320TW front, 420TW rear; matching sets on each axle but different front/rear. The host clearly checked for tread before the trip, so that was much appreciated. My only real nitpick would be - the car could use an alignment - neutral steering position is a little offset on the wheel. Hopefully a quick fix for the team. Host was VERY responsive - appreciate their fantastic response time - but I would have appreciated them being more forthcoming with details of the car’s current condition, and/or more up-to-date pictures when requested before the trip. All in all, would recommend this to my friends, and would be happy to rent again. Really enjoyable trip!

This was our first experience with Turo and Rolando and Alberto made it great! Super clear communication, easy pickup and drop off (they met us at the garage at the airport). The car was excellent, and if we are ever headed back to San Francisco and needed a car we would easily rent from them again.

Communication with Chris was good. I received the car on time and it leveled up to what a twelve plus year old vehicle is like to ride. For the price I paid I liked the car. There was a non mechanical issue on the last day that the owner and I found a simple solution that mutually worked for us and was a great car for me during this solo trip.

Car was perfect for my trip north from San Francisco. Rolando and Albert were excellent, made sure I felt welcomed, offered suggestions for my trip and communication was great. I would rent from here again.

Beautiful 2019 BMW 440i that was not only equipped with luxurious features like heated neck warmers and bolstering seats, but also a genuine joy to drive! No issues whatsoever with the car, and overall great blend of efficiency and “fun.” Tony was incredibly responsive and available throughout the trip, and everything was effortless. And I think this rental bought my wife over for a future convertible of our own! Overall a wonderful first anniversary and highly recommend this vehicle to enjoy California with.

Amazing experience! We rented this BMW for four days and absolutely loved it. The car was fun to drive, looked great inside and out, and made our trip even better. We had no issues with the car at all, and the gas lasted us for almost the entire four-day rental, which was a nice bonus. The host was very friendly, responsive, and happy to answer any questions I had. Pickup and drop-off were smooth and easy. This was my first rental, so I was a little nervous, but everything went perfectly. Would definitely rent again!

Ahmed was incredibly accommodating over the past 2 weeks and were very flexible with multiple extensions, which helped me out a lot during a stressful time while waiting for my new car to be delivered.
