The car itself drove well, and pickup and drop off were both very easy and convenient. Unfortunately, the cosmetic condition of the vehicle was extremely disappointing.
I’ve personally owned two X4 M Competitions, so I was really looking forward to renting this one. However, all four wheels were severely curbed and scuffed to the point where the exposed metal was extremely noticeable against the black wheels. All four center caps were also missing. The front and rear of the vehicle had numerous scratches, scrapes, and other cosmetic damage as well.
I understand that rental vehicles will naturally have some wear and tear, especially a 2020 model, but this was far beyond what I would consider normal. The condition of the wheels in particular was honestly embarrassing. I didn’t even feel comfortable taking the car to certain places because of how beat up they looked.
Mechanically, I had no issues and the car drove fine. The host also made pickup and return very easy, which I appreciated. However, based on the overall exterior condition and how poorly the vehicle presented, I would not rent this car again.
