Jeep was great for getting around Maui. The One Touch Roof opening made our trip especially enjoyable. For all the driving we did around the island from West Maui to Hana and to also Haleakalā and Kīhei, we spent $150 between 2 fill ups and we also paid $24 for airport parking and $18 for the Jeep to be washed. I’m disclosing these expenses so one can be aware of additional costs and know what to expect when renting gas Jeep for Maui. The Jeep was very dependable and comfortable. I did feel stressed having to wash the Jeep before returning it to the airport as I have never had to do that but I did not know what the expectation of clean was and wanted to avoid a $150 cleaning fee that was stated in the instructions. With all this said, due to it being a one touch, I would still rent it again.
I accidentally booked the wrong kind of vehicle. The Jeep Renegade is definitely not the Jeep I wanted. But it was a good experience we did everything we want to do and the renter was absolutely great in her communication. Still better than the rental car.
