Long Beach, California, offers a perfect blend of urban excitement and coastal charm. This vibrant city boasts miles of beautiful beaches, a thriving arts scene, and diverse attractions. Renting a van in Long Beach is an excellent choice for exploring the area, whether you're planning a family vacation, organizing a group outing, or need extra space for a business trip. With ample room for passengers and cargo, a van rental provides the flexibility and comfort needed to make the most of your Long Beach adventure.

First time renting on Turo and I'm glad it was such an awesome experience! Our host was easy to communicate with; he tried to be as helpful as he can with everything from drop off/pickup to getting bluetooth to work. We rented this Ford Transit cuz we needed to fit 10 people on a trip to Las Vegas - 7 adults and 3 kids (two with car seats). Not only did it fit all of us comfortably, but we had so much room in the trunk for luggage too! The car was in great condition, it actually came with tinted windows, unlike the picture shown. Great for privacy and when the majority of our party wanted to fall asleep on the long car ride home! Lol. The inside was clean and very comfy. This might be helpful for people debating on renting from Turo or a regular rental car location - renting a car like this (Ford Transit) was about $500 cheaper than when I searched on car rental spots (even Costco), but a lot of personal car insurance companies won't cover ride sharing services like Turo, so you have to factor in buying their insurance. For me, the price with the additional insurance was still way cheaper than renting it from car rental spots, so we went with Turo. Hope this helps!

Omg all I can say is wow! Renting from Danny for my trip to LA was an absolute breeze for me and my family. The car was easy to find with the hosts clear instructions and easy to drop off! This is my first time visiting here and got the real experience with the traffic but the host was very very understanding and even checked on us throughout the trip to make sure everything was going ok during our trip! That was so awesome! Danny was very responsive and compassionate and definitely made everything much easier during our trip! Thanks so much! We will definitely be booking with you again!

Car drove great, everything worked perfectly fine. The AC was freezing cold which was great for the hot weather during my trip.

Host was great! Very communicative and helpful. Vehicle was great with no issues. Would definitely recommend for a family trip!

Wow what an awesome host!!! Completely available any time we contacted him and was very accommodating and very helpful. The van was perfect for our group for our short stay before our cruise.
From the very start, stephen communicated clearly and showed great understanding. He remained attentive and thorough for the duration of our trip. The vehicle matched its description perfectly, and having booster seats readily available was a huge plus. Traveling with triplets can often make logistics challenging, but Stephen made it seamless.
The rental process was smooth, the van was clean and reliable, and everything worked perfectly. Great experience overall—would definitely rent again!”

Your van's spacious interior ensures comfort for all passengers during the drive. Visit the Getty Villa in Malibu, enjoy a beach picnic in Ventura, and explore the Danish-inspired town of Solvang. The extra cargo space in your van is perfect for storing coolers, beach equipment, and souvenirs collected during your trip.
Downtown Long Beach is a bustling commercial district where van rentals prove invaluable for businesses. The area's diverse economy, from shipping to technology, often requires versatile transportation. A van rental offers ample space for transporting goods, equipment, or a team of employees. Navigate easily to the Long Beach Convention Center or the Port of Long Beach. Be mindful of parking, as some areas have time restrictions. Many buildings offer loading zones, making it convenient for businesses to utilize van rentals effectively.
The Aquarium of the Pacific is a must-visit attraction in Long Beach, and a van rental makes the experience even better. With ample seating, you can comfortably transport your entire group to this fascinating marine world. The van's extra space is perfect for storing strollers, coolers, or any souvenirs you might purchase. Parking is available in nearby lots, but arrive early during peak seasons. After your aquarium visit, use your van to explore other nearby attractions like Shoreline Village or take a short drive to Seal Beach.
When renting a van in Long Beach, consider the size that best fits your needs. For families, look for vans with comfortable seating and entertainment systems. If you're planning beach trips, opt for a van with easy-to-clean interiors. Check for features like backup cameras and sliding doors for added convenience. Remember to factor in parking when planning your itinerary, especially in busy areas like downtown or popular beaches. For longer trips, choose a fuel-efficient model to save on gas costs while exploring Long Beach and beyond.
Long Beach offers several convenient pickup locations for van rentals. Many hosts on Turo provide flexible options for guests to collect their rental vans. Popular areas include downtown Long Beach, near the beach, and close to major transportation hubs. Some hosts may offer delivery to your location, making it even easier to start your trip. When booking a van rental on Turo, you can filter results based on pickup locations that suit your needs. Whether you're planning a family outing or need extra space for a group adventure, finding the right van in Long Beach is simple. Remember to communicate with your host about specific pickup arrangements and any additional requirements you may have for your van rental.
When renting a van for a beach trip in Long Beach, it's essential to be aware of height restrictions. Many parking structures and garages in the area have limited clearance, which can pose challenges for taller vehicles. To navigate these restrictions, consider opting for a standard-height passenger van rather than a high-roof model. Research your intended destinations beforehand to identify suitable parking options that can accommodate your vehicle. Beach parking lots often have more generous height allowances, making them ideal for van rentals. Additionally, familiarize yourself with street parking regulations in Long Beach, as some areas may have specific rules for larger vehicles.
Long Beach offers excellent starting points for scenic van road trips to nearby California attractions. Consider taking the Pacific Coast Highway for breathtaking ocean views as you drive north towards Santa Monica and Malibu. For a different landscape, head east to explore the San Gabriel Mountains and Angeles National Forest. The route through Orange County to Laguna Beach and Newport Beach is another picturesque option. If you're up for a longer journey, venture to the Santa Barbara wine country or Joshua Tree National Park. These diverse routes showcase California's stunning coastlines, mountains, and deserts, making your van rental experience truly memorable. Remember to plan your trips with ample time for stops and photo opportunities along the way.
For family vacations in Long Beach, consider a minivan or a mid-size passenger van that offers comfort and ample storage space for luggage and beach gear. These vans typically seat 7-8 passengers comfortably, with features like sliding doors and easy-to-clean interiors ideal for sandy beach trips. For larger group outings, a full-size passenger van that accommodates 12-15 people might be more suitable. These spacious vans are perfect for transporting a crowd to Long Beach attractions or nearby theme parks. When choosing your van rental, consider factors like fuel efficiency, ease of parking in urban areas, and the specific needs of your group to ensure a smooth and enjoyable Long Beach experience.
Driving a van in Long Beach requires some adjustments compared to a regular car. Vans are typically longer and taller, which affects maneuverability and parking. Expect a wider turning radius and the need for more space when changing lanes or navigating tight streets. Parking can be more challenging, especially in downtown Long Beach, so look for larger spots or designated van parking areas. The higher seating position in a van offers better visibility, which is advantageous when driving along the beach or in traffic. Be mindful of the van's height when entering parking structures or drive-throughs. Additionally, vans may have different blind spots, so use your mirrors frequently and take extra care when changing lanes on busy Long Beach roads.
Finding suitable van parking near popular Long Beach destinations requires some planning. Many beach parking lots offer ample space for larger vehicles, making them ideal for van rentals. When visiting downtown attractions, look for public parking structures that accommodate taller vehicles — some have dedicated areas for vans. Street parking can be an option in less congested areas, but be sure to check signage for any size restrictions. Consider using parking apps or websites that provide information on lot sizes and height clearances. For popular spots like the Aquarium of the Pacific or The Pike Outlets, arriving early can help secure more spacious parking spots. Remember to always lock your van and keep valuables out of sight when parking in public areas.
When selecting a van for your Long Beach trip, consider the size of your group and the amount of luggage or equipment you'll be carrying. Ensure the van has sufficient seating and storage capacity for a comfortable journey. Fuel efficiency is crucial, especially if you plan on exploring beyond Long Beach. Look for vans with good visibility and easy-to-use controls, as this will enhance your driving experience along the coast. Air conditioning is a must for hot California days, while features like sliding doors can be convenient for beach access. If you're planning to visit attractions in Los Angeles or other nearby cities, choose a van that's not too cumbersome to navigate in urban settings. Lastly, consider any specific needs of your group, such as accessibility features or child safety accommodations.
Vans offer distinct advantages over SUVs for group travel around Long Beach and Southern California. Vans typically provide more passenger space and legroom, making them ideal for longer journeys along the coast or to nearby attractions. They often have higher seating capacity, accommodating larger groups without compromising comfort. Vans also excel in cargo space, allowing you to easily transport beach gear, surfboards, or luggage for extended trips. While SUVs might offer better fuel efficiency and easier maneuverability in urban settings, vans provide a more communal travel experience, with ample room for interaction. For scenic drives along Pacific Coast Highway or visits to theme parks, vans offer superior visibility and a more relaxed atmosphere. However, consider parking limitations in some Long Beach areas when opting for a larger vehicle.
For long-distance van trips from Long Beach, comfort is key. Start by adjusting the seats and steering wheel to ensure proper posture during extended drives. Bring cushions or lumbar support for additional back comfort. Plan regular stops along your route to stretch and avoid fatigue — California's scenic rest areas are perfect for this. Keep the van well-ventilated and use sun shades to manage temperature and glare, especially when driving along the coast. Pack a cooler with refreshments and snacks to minimize stops and keep everyone satisfied. Consider bringing entertainment options like audiobooks or music playlists that everyone can enjoy. For overnight trips, invest in window coverings for privacy and better sleep. Lastly, organize your luggage and supplies efficiently within the van to maximize space and ensure easy access to essentials throughout your journey.
