I had some minor issues with the car but the host was super responsive and I was able to address them quickly which didn’t impact my travel. The car was very clean when I picked it up. Pickup and drop off were very seamless. I would rent from Diego again.

Great rental for our family! The car ran smoothly the entire trip and was surprisingly great on gas - we drove all over NJ and NYC and only filled up once. It easily fit our two car seats, and the trunk had plenty of room for a pack-and-play, luggage, backpacks, and more. The backup camera was helpful, and while there’s no Apple CarPlay, we were able to connect our phones to play music, which was a lifesaver with two kids. Just know this is an older, city-driven car with nearly 200k miles, so it has some cosmetic damage. Make sure to take photos before your trip. Also, the passenger window only works from the driver’s controls. None of this affected our trip, and the car was mechanically sound and handled city driving and parking with no problems. The hosts were communicative and easy to work with. One thing to plan for is airport pickup and return - you’ll need to take the rental car shuttle and meet on a nearby side street, so it’s not a curbside airport pickup. Overall, this was a great value and exactly what we needed. We’d definitely rent it again for getting around the city. Thanks!

The car was very clean on the inside. It drove well. It felt safe. It was an easy pickup in the terminal parking lot. There were a number of scratches on the car but they weren't substantial and didn't impact my trip.

For my first trip with Turo, Jay was great and very communicative. Vehicle was clean, handled well., but did have a few chips and scratches on the vehicle at pickup. Jay was great with the upfront documentation needed, but I was a little bummed about the navigation/bluetooth connectivity options being put behind an add-on package to the trip, as that is now standard in modern vehicles from other rental chains. The self driving add-on made sense due to the extra price the owner would take on to get that software for the vehicle through Tesla.

Rent a car equipped with GPS navigation or use a reliable smartphone app to guide you. Drive defensively and be prepared for sudden stops or lane changes by other drivers. In New York City, watch out for pedestrians, cyclists, and taxi cabs, as they can be unpredictable. Avoid distractions and keep your focus on the road. When possible, plan your routes in advance and allow extra time for unexpected delays. Be mindful of parking regulations and always lock your rental car when parked. By following these best practices, you'll navigate New York City's streets more confidently and safely in your rental car.

Luxury car rentals provide a touch of elegance and superior comfort for those who want to travel in style. For eco-conscious travelers, electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular and offer a smooth, quiet ride. How should guests prepare for various weather conditions when driving in New York?

When driving in New York, it's essential to be prepared for diverse weather conditions. In summer, ensure your rental car's air conditioning is functioning properly to combat the heat and humidity. During winter, opt for a vehicle with all-wheel drive or winter tires if available, as snow and ice can make roads treacherous. Always keep a scraper and brush in the car for clearing snow and ice from windows. Spring and fall can bring unexpected rain showers, so check that your windshield wipers are in good condition. Regardless of the season, it's wise to have a small emergency kit with essentials like a flashlight, basic tools, and a phone charger. Stay informed about weather forecasts and potential advisories that may affect your travel plans. By being prepared for various weather scenarios, you'll ensure a safer and more comfortable driving experience in your rental car throughout New York's changing seasons.

What are some key differences between driving in densely populated New York City and rural areas?

Driving in densely populated New York City differs significantly from rural areas. In the city, you'll encounter heavy traffic, frequent stops, and a complex network of one-way streets. Parking can be challenging and expensive, often requiring parallel parking skills. Be prepared for aggressive drivers and constant vigilance for pedestrians and cyclists. In contrast, rural areas offer more open roads and scenic drives. You'll find fewer traffic lights and more winding roads, requiring attentiveness to curves and potential wildlife crossings. Rural driving often involves higher speeds but less congestion. While city driving demands quick reflexes and patience, rural driving requires sustained focus over longer distances. Weather conditions can affect both environments differently: city streets may flood more easily, while rural roads might become icy or snow-covered more quickly. Whether renting a car for city exploration or a sturdy vehicle for country roads, adapt your driving style to suit the environment for a safe and enjoyable experience.

When planning longer trips, it's wise to locate gas stations along your route in advance. Remember to check your rental agreement for any specific fueling requirements or recommendations.
