This summer amusement park is a fun blast from the past. The Jack Rabbit, its most famous ride, is the oldest continually operating roller coaster in the country. 100 years later, it’s still giving thrill-seekers a great time.
Famous suffragette and women’s rights activist Susan B. Anthony lived in Rochester for 40 years. At her home on Madison Street, now a museum, you can learn more about her life and work. See the front parlor where she was arrested in 1872, and don’t miss the visitor center next door.
Take the option to indulge your inner child. Dedicated to “the history and exploration of play,” the Strong is an interactive museum that’s home to the National Toy Hall of Fame, the World Video Game Hall of Fame, and the largest collection of historical toys and games in the world.

If you have time for a road trip outside of Rochester, there’s plenty to explore. Niagara Falls is a gorgeous region full of wineries, outdoor trails, and, of course, a famous waterfall. The history-rich area around Rochester also boasts museums and important sites ready for you to explore — from nearby Buffalo to Ithaca or Seneca Falls.
Rent the perfect carNiagara Falls is about an hour and a half away. With options for hiking, boating, dining, and wining, you can easily spend a full day in the area. But at minimum, you should stop for a sight of the three thundering falls that separate New York from Canada, collectively known as Niagara Falls.
Another natural wonder not far from Rochester is Chimney Bluffs, a rugged state park with towering clay cliffs. Four miles worth of hiking trails provide stunning glimpses of the cliffs and beautiful views of Lake Ontario.
A visit to the Susan B. Anthony House wouldn’t be complete without a follow-up trip to nearby Seneca Falls: where the women’s rights movement began in 1848. Visit the national historical park, which includes four properties and a visitor’s center, then stop by the National Women’s Hall of Fame.

It was a nice little car it was my last option to rent something in Rochester area I usually drive newer cars and trucks but it's good for people who like small and older vehicles
The car was great, the host was super friendly and this was my first experience using Turo instead of Hertz or Enterprise, I will definitely be using Turo again and if possible rent through Sam again as well!

This 518-mile trail runs along Lake Erie, the Niagara River, Lake Ontario, and the St. Lawrence River. You won’t want to drive the whole thing, but take the Western or Eastern parts of the trail through Rochester and you’ll have your choice of views of lakes, rivers, charming towns, and historic sites.
