Skip the long airport lines at traditional car rental companies and head straight from baggage claim to one of the Biose Airport parking lots. You can pick up or return your rental car in the Economy Lot, Long-Term Surface Lot, East Garage, or Main Garage. When returning your car, park no earlier than four hours before your scheduled trip end, or within the time allowed at the parking location — whichever comes first. Simply enter the parking area, take a ticket, and leave it inside the vehicle for your host.
Once your car rental is booked, you'll find everything you need to know about your booking saved in the Turo app. You’ll have access to the in-app messaging feature for the entire rental period in case any questions pop up, ensuring a smooth and stress-free car rental experience after touching down at Boise Airport.
If picking up your car rental at Boise Airport or from your hotel isn’t your top choice, there are plenty of nearby pickup locations to consider. You can also collect your vehicle from spots like Boise Bench, Southeast Boise, or Meridian, which all have local parking available.

Contactless check-in and checkout
Many hosts offer contactless check-in and checkout, if their car has remote access technology, allowing you to find the car, unlock it, and be on your way without meeting them in person. Message your host for specific instructions.

Convenient airport car rental pickup and return
Rather than hustling at the busy terminal curbside, take your time picking up the rental car at approved parking lots or garages. Check in, load up your luggage, and get comfortable with the car without a big rush.

Relax with support & damage protection
24/7 support and roadside assistance mean help is just a call away, plus you can choose from a range of protection plans.

Curious about getting around once you’ve touched down at Boise Airport (BOI)? Whether you're cruising into downtown, heading out to Idaho’s stunning mountain trails, or just want to explore Boise on your own terms, having a rental car makes it easy. Here’s what to know before you hit the road.
After booking your car rental, check the Turo app to confirm the pickup location of your rental car — Boise Airport parking lot options include the Economy Lot, Long-Term Surface Lot, East Garage, or Main Garage. If you're in a ticketed spot, your host will leave the parking ticket in the car for a smooth exit. Then, all that's left to do is jump behind the wheel and hit the open roads of Idaho.
When it's time to return your car rental, simply drive back to your agreed-upon spot and park up. Make sure to leave any parking tickets inside the vehicle if you're returning your vehicle to a secure parking lot. Then, send your host a quick message on the Turo app with details about where the car is parked, including the parking spot number if needed.
Boise Airport (BOI) is about four miles south of downtown Boise. Depending on traffic and how you get there, it’s usually an eight to 14-minute drive.
Boise follows the usual U.S. road rules. You can turn right on a red light after stopping, unless there’s a sign saying otherwise. If a school bus has its red lights flashing, traffic in both directions has to stop, unless there’s a median. In winter, make sure to clear snow and ice from your car, and snow tires or chains might be needed in Idaho. And always make sure to have your driver's license on hand.
General speed limits in Boise and surrounding areas include:
- Residential areas: 20–25 mph (32–40 km/h)
- Urban areas: 35–45 mph (56–72 km/h)
- Highways/freeways: 65–80 mph (105–129 km/h) depending on signage
Parking in Boise is straightforward, with a mix of metered and non-metered options. There are also several public parking car lots downtown. If you're heading to suburban areas like Meridian, Garden City, Eagle, Nampa, and Kuna, parking is usually easy to find and typically free.
No, there are no toll roads in Boise or the rest of Idaho, allowing you to travel through the state without worrying about toll charges.
Boise has plenty of gas stations, from major chains to local spots, all in convenient locations. The city also offers a growing network of EV charging stations at places like:
- ChargePoint Stations: 1606 N Mumbarto Ave and 504 W Front St.
- Blink Charging Stations: 3928 E Haystack St and 505 W Broad St.
Boise is a walkable city, with plenty of attractions, restaurants, and shops just a short stroll away. You can also hop on a Boise GreenBike or catch a Valley Regional Transit bus to get around town. But if you’re planning to explore beyond the city, like Bogus Basin, McCall, or the Snake River, you'll want to rent a car. It gives you the freedom to move at your own pace and check out some of the area’s most stunning spots. Even for local travel, having a car can make it easier to shop, jump between neighborhoods, or keep the group on the go without waiting around.
You’ll find a wide variety of rental vehicles on Turo in Boise — from practical SUVs to sporty sedans and luxury models. Whether you’re cruising downtown, hitting mountain biking trails, or heading out on a weekend escape, it's easy to find vehicles that match your plans, budget and ideal car size.
Standard SUVs like the Subaru Forester or adventure-ready rides like the Ford Expedition and Jeep Wrangler 4xe Sahara are great for families, gear-heavy trips, or exploring Idaho’s outdoors. Need more space? Pickup trucks like the Ram 2500 make hauling bikes, camping gear, or road trip essentials a breeze.
If you’re after something premium, car rental deals on high-end models like the Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q7, or an electric luxury sedan offer comfort and performance. You’ll also find performance sport options like the Mustang GT PP2 or compact city cars like the Mazda2. To explore rental agreements and car rental rates for your ideal vehicle on Turo, head to the search bar, enter your ideal pick-up location, and get browsing.
