I really liked working with the owner of this vehicle, and I will totally rent this car or another one of his cars again.. He was quick to respond and gave good information. The pickup location was easy to find and in a safe location. The car itself was great. I didn’t have any problems with it and it was fun to drive for its age. It did great in the rain and snow with its AWD. Like other reviews have mentioned, yes the brakes do squeak but only until they get warmed up and then they stop squeaking. Typically squeaking would stop within five minutes of driving. I did not find anything mechanically wrong with the brakes or the car itself.

Top tips for driving in Nampa

A few local pointers make getting around Nampa easy, whether you're staying in the city or exploring the Treasure Valley.

Road rules

Idaho follows standard US traffic laws, and Interstate 84 is the main route through the area. Give yourself extra time during morning and evening peak hours, especially near the Garrity Boulevard interchange, and use Nampa-Caldwell Boulevard as an alternative when I-84 is busy.

Parking

Downtown Nampa offers free street parking, though many spots have a two-hour limit during busy times. Public lots are handy for longer stays, and larger vehicles fit well in the more spacious lots near the Nampa Train Depot.

Toll roads

Idaho has no toll roads, so you can drive around Nampa and the Treasure Valley without worrying about tolls.

Gas and EV charging

Gas stations are easy to find along the Caldwell Boulevard corridor, near downtown along 12th Avenue Road, and by the Ford Idaho Center. EV charging is available around Nampa and nearby Boise if you book an electric car.

Do you need a car in Nampa?

Public transit is limited across the Treasure Valley, so a car is the most practical way to reach attractions, run errands, and take day trips. Renting one gives you the freedom to explore on your own schedule.

Frequently asked questions in Nampa, ID

Turo vs traditional car rental in Nampa

Turo is a car rental marketplace where you book cars directly from local hosts instead of a traditional rental agency. That means an extraordinary selection of vehicles, flexible pickup and delivery, and the option to skip the rental counter entirely — often with better value for both short trips and longer stays in Nampa.

What documents do I need to rent a car in Nampa?

To rent a car in Nampa, you'll need a valid driver's license, a supported payment method, and a Turo account that's approved to book. Have your license ready when you set up your account so you're ready to hit the road as soon as you land or arrive in town.

Can I rent a car in Nampa with a foreign or out-of-state license?

Yes. Guests with a valid out-of-state or foreign driver's license can book a car in Nampa, as long as your account is approved to drive on Turo. If your license isn't in English, it's a good idea to carry an international driving permit alongside it.

How old do I need to be to rent a car in Nampa?

You must be at least 18 to book a car in Nampa in the US, though some vehicles and hosts may set higher age requirements. Younger drivers may see an age-based fee, and eligibility for certain vehicle types can vary, so check the details on each listing.

Is insurance included when I rent a car in Nampa?

When you book a car in Nampa, you can choose from protection plans offered during checkout, each with different levels of coverage and pricing. Review the options for your trip and pick the plan that fits before you confirm your booking.

Are there discounts for renting a car in Nampa?

Yes. Many hosts in Nampa offer lower daily rates for weekly and monthly bookings, so longer trips can mean better value. You'll see any available discounts reflected in the price as you choose your dates.

See more about promotions and discounts in the Turo app.

Can I rent a car long-term in Nampa?

Absolutely. If you need a car for a few weeks or longer in Nampa, many hosts welcome extended trips and offer weekly and monthly pricing. Just set your dates when you book to see the vehicles available for a longer stay.

Do rental cars in Nampa come with unlimited mileage?

Mileage allowances are set by each host, so some cars in Nampa include unlimited miles while others have a daily limit with a per-mile fee beyond it. Check the listing's mileage details before you book if you're planning longer drives around Idaho.

Can I add additional drivers to my car rental in Nampa?

Yes. You can add additional approved drivers to your trip at no extra cost, and each driver simply needs an approved Turo account. Manage additional drivers in the Turo app rather than arranging them with the host directly.

Can I rent a car monthly in Nampa?

Yes. Monthly rentals are a great option if you're staying in Nampa for an extended trip, a move, or a work assignment, and many hosts offer discounted monthly pricing for longer bookings.
