More than worth the price—the truck was brand new, beautiful and very fun to drive. Pickup/dropoff location was a private residence but felt very safe. Rick was a wonderful and accommodating host who went above and beyond to ensure this was a 5-star experience from the start. I felt very confident throughout my rental that had anything gone wrong or I’d needed anything, he was only a quick phone call away. Even ended up extending twice—both times he was very quick to respond to give the okay. I would definitely rent from Rick again, whether it’s this same truck or a different one of their vehicles, and I’d encourage others to do the same.

The cyber truck was great and the hosts are very accommodating. We used self-driving 99% of the time and everything worked without a glitch. I would rent from the host again and highly recommend anyone travelling to DC to try out the Cybertruck.

Everything was great, it was my 1st time renting but even though things were absolutely professionally planned out, it took me “a minute” to figure out in the app. (this is entirely on me).

Frequently asked questions in Reston

Why rent a car in Reston?

Renting a car in Reston provides exceptional versatility for moving furniture, hauling equipment, or transporting large items that won't fit in regular cars. Virginia's suburban landscape makes car rental particularly valuable for home improvement projects, landscaping supplies, or relocating within the Washington metropolitan area. The elevated driving position and cargo capacity of pickup trucks like the Toyota Tacoma offer practical solutions for both work and recreational activities around Fairfax County.

What should I expect when driving a car versus a car?

Driving a car in Reston requires adjusting to increased height, longer braking distances, and wider turning radius compared to standard car rentals. The elevated seating position provides better visibility of traffic conditions around Arlington and Centreville, while the larger vehicle footprint demands more careful attention when navigating parking lots. Pickup truck acceleration differs significantly from cars, requiring smoother throttle inputs and earlier planning for lane changes on Virginia highways.

How do I park a large car safely?

When parking your rental car in Reston, choose spaces away from tight corners and allow extra room for opening doors without hitting adjacent vehicles. Use your mirrors extensively and take advantage of the car's height to spot potential obstacles that might not be visible in a regular car. Virginia parking lots often accommodate larger vehicles, but always verify clearance heights and avoid compact car spaces in Fairfax and Manassas areas.

How do I manage weight distribution in my car?

Proper weight distribution in your Reston rental car involves placing heavier items directly over the rear axle and securing all cargo to prevent shifting during transport. Keep the load balanced from side to side and avoid exceeding the payload capacity specified for your pickup truck model. When hauling supplies around Virginia, distribute weight evenly and ensure lighter items are placed on top to maintain optimal handling characteristics on roads between Reston and nearby Chantilly.

What safety features do modern cars offer?

Contemporary car rentals in Reston typically include advanced safety technologies such as electronic stability control, anti-lock braking systems, and multiple airbags for enhanced protection. Many pickup models feature backup cameras and parking sensors that prove invaluable when maneuvering in tight spaces around Fredericksburg or Norfolk. Modern cars also incorporate traction control systems that provide improved grip during various weather conditions common throughout Virginia.

Where are the best car road trip destinations from Reston?

Excellent car road trip destinations from Reston include the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains, historic Williamsburg, and the coastal areas around Virginia Beach for outdoor adventures. Your rental pickup provides ideal transportation for camping gear or recreational equipment when exploring Shenandoah National Park or the Chesapeake Bay region. The car's cargo capacity makes it perfect for day trips to Blacksburg or Roanoke, allowing you to transport outdoor gear, coolers, and supplies for extended Virginia explorations.
