The Rapter was so fun to drive! Clean, powerful, and roomy for our family 4-pack. If you're going to be in the County, you need a truck to fit in. Borna was communicative and made the whole process easy. Highly recommend

Great rental. Very cool truck. Probably seems overkill for city driving….but honestly the Baltimore roads are so rough it may as well be off-roading lol. Vehicle was exactly as described, in excellent condition, and the renter made it a very convenient experience. I would rent from him again.

I was a newbie to Turo. The host (Jish @ J&A Autos) was awesome, but make sure you do your homework on the policies, as well as the functions and capabilities of the vehicle you choose beforehand! This was my first time with a CyberTruck! Took me 30 minutes just to get into the car! Lol

Frequently asked questions in Severn

Why rent a car in Severn?

Renting a car in Severn provides excellent versatility for moving household items between Maryland locations like Annapolis, Glen Burnie, or Laurel. The vehicle's cargo capacity makes it ideal for transporting furniture, appliances, or large equipment throughout the greater Severn area. Car rental offers the perfect solution for both residential relocations and commercial hauling needs in Maryland.

What should I expect when driving a car versus a smaller vehicle?

Driving a larger car requires adjusting to increased height, wider turning radius, and longer braking distances compared to standard car rental options. The elevated seating position provides better visibility of Maryland roads, while the heavier vehicle weight affects acceleration and stopping performance. Car handling feels more substantial, especially when navigating through areas like Hanover or Odenton with your rental car.

How do I park and maneuver a large car?

Parking a larger car requires seeking wider spaces and allowing extra room for the vehicle's extended length and height clearance. Use mirrors extensively when backing up, as larger cars have bigger blind spots than typical car rental options in Severn. Practice turning movements in open areas before navigating tighter spaces around Maryland shopping centers or residential areas.

How do I manage load distribution and weight in a car?

Distribute weight evenly across the car's cargo area, placing heavier items toward the front and securing all cargo with tie-downs or straps. Balance prevents the vehicle from becoming tail-heavy, which affects steering and braking performance during your Severn rental period. Always stay within the car's payload capacity and check that your load doesn't exceed local Maryland weight regulations.

What safety features do modern cars offer?

Contemporary cars include advanced braking systems, stability control, and multiple airbags to enhance protection during Maryland travels. Many rental cars feature backup cameras, blind spot monitoring, and traction control for improved handling around Severn and surrounding areas. Electronic stability systems help maintain control when hauling loads through varying road conditions in Maryland.

Where are the best car road trip destinations from Severn?

Explore Maryland's scenic routes leading to Annapolis for waterfront views, or venture toward New Carrollton for urban experiences with your rental car. The vehicle's capability makes it perfect for accessing camping areas, state parks, or rural locations throughout Maryland where standard cars might struggle. Consider trips to Glen Burnie or Hyattsville to experience diverse Maryland landscapes while utilizing your rental car's versatile transportation services.

Is there long term car rental on Turo?

Yes there is — whether you want to rent a car for three days, three months, or even longer, you can on Turo. You'll find discounted prices on bookings lasting 3+, 7+, or 30+ days, so you can get the best deals and lowest rates possible by booking longer trips.

How does car rental insurance work on Turo?

No, you don't need personal insurance coverage to rent a car on Turo. In the US, any personal insurance you may have that covers damage to the host's vehicle would kick in before your Turo protection plan. When booking a car in the US, you'll choose between three protection plans — Premier (eligibility requirements apply), Standard, or Minimum — to get the level of protection that's right for you. On each trip, you're covered with third-party automobile liability insurance provided under a policy issued to Turo by Travelers Excess and Surplus Lines Company.* In New York state, you'll also choose between Premier (if available), Standard, or Minimum. With each plan, you're covered with liability insurance of $1,250,000.* Protection plans for New York trips also include access to roadside assistance, priority phone support, and 24/7 customer assistance.

What documents and paperwork do I need to rent a car on Turo?

To rent a car on Turo, you must create a Turo account, have a valid driver's license, get approved to drive on Turo, and be 18 years old or older in the US, 21 years old or older in Australia, or 23 years old or older in Canada. In the UK, you must be 21 years old or older and have held a UK or EU license for at least one year, or another driver's license for at least two years. In France you must be 18 years old or older and have held a driver's license for at least 2 years, longer for certain makes and models of vehicles. When you're booking your first trip, you'll go through a quick approval process by entering your driver's license and some other information. In most cases, you'll get approved immediately, and you'll be set for all future road trips, day trips, and business trips!

What kind of license do I need to rent a car on Turo?

Turo accepts valid licenses (not expired, suspended, or revoked) that allow for full driving privileges; this includes driver's licenses issued outside of the US.
