Kareem was absolutely great. I've rented from turo many times and only had one issue in the past: communication - that was not an issue with kareem at all. He was super fast in his replies which is not a "standard" on the turo app. He was very flexible in changing the pickup location with advance notice. Car was clean, tidy, worked flawless. For this price and his overall service orientation I'd hire him again anytime. Thank you Kareem!

Top tips for truck rental — Dallas

Dallas truck rentals on Turo are designed for convenience. Collect your truck from a convenient location, load efficiently, and settle in before navigating the city’s wide highways and busy districts.

Tips for driving a truck in Dallas

Pay attention to the Metroplex traffic: Dallas highways, including I-20, I-30, and I-635, are busy commuter corridors. Trucks require extra stopping distance and wider turns, so allow a safe distance and plan ahead.

Know your vehicle before you roll: Downtown Dallas, Uptown, and areas like Deep Ellum can feel tight at times. Adjust mirrors, check blind spots, and use parking aids or cameras where available.

Local tip: If you’re driving from Dallas toward San Antonio and the Alamo, I-35 can slow significantly through Waco and Austin. Traveling outside peak hours or taking I-35E south to US-67 before rejoining I-35 can help avoid the heaviest congestion.

What is parking a truck like in Dallas?

You can expect tight parking in Downtown Dallas, Uptown, and areas around Dealey Plaza. Many trucks available on Turo are equipped with parking cameras and driver-assist features, helping make navigating city streets and inner-city parking very manageable.

How to choose the right truck for your Dallas trip

Dallas truck rentals are wide-ranging. Larger vans and trucks are ideal for moving furniture or hauling supplies across the Metroplex, while a pickup truck rental offers flexible space for a single person or couples on the go.

Longer rental periods can also save you money; consider whether your trip is a few days, a week, or a few weeks to cut costs on your Dallas rental experience.

Loading a truck

Start with heavy items first to keep the center of gravity low and prevent shifting on tight downtown streets or bumpy North Texas highways. The setup can be every bit as easy as the journey itself, with straps and ropes often available.

Gas stations and EV chargers in Dallas, TX

Dallas offers a wide range of refueling and recharging options, whether your rental truck is electric, diesel, or gas. Truck-friendly stops along major corridors like I-35E, I-30, and the Dallas North Tollway provide clean EV chargers and traditional fuel.

How does car rental insurance work on Turo?

No, you don’t need personal insurance coverage to rent a car on Turo.

In the US, any personal insurance you may have that covers damage to the host’s vehicle would kick in before your Turo protection plan. When booking a car in the US, you’ll choose between three protection plans — Premier (eligibility requirements apply), Standard, or Minimum — to get the level of protection that’s right for you. On each trip, you’re covered with third-party automobile liability insurance provided under a policy issued to Turo by Travelers Excess and Surplus Lines Company.*

In New York state, you’ll also choose between Premier (if available), Standard, or Minimum. With each plan, you’re covered with liability insurance of $1,250,000.* Protection plans for New York trips also include access to roadside assistance, priority phone support, and 24/7 customer assistance.

Can other people drive the car that I rented?

Yes, multiple guests can drive the car you rent on Turo, as long as they are all approved to drive. The primary driver (whoever rented the car) can add additional drivers with no fees or additional charges. Only the primary driver can request to add drivers; Turo hosts cannot do it for you. We encourage you to request to add additional drivers before your trip starts, though guests can request to add a driver while a trip is in progress.

To speed up the process, have your additional driver create a Turo account and get approved to drive before you request to add them. All drivers must have a valid driver’s license and meet the age requirements for the car you’ve booked. You can request to add drivers via the “Trips” tab in the Turo app without additional driver charges or extra costs.

In the US, liability insurance is provided under a policy issued to Turo by Travelers Excess and Surplus Lines Company. Terms, conditions, and exclusions apply. The policy does not provide coverage for damage to a host’s vehicle.

For questions or information about the third party liability insurance that is included in protection plans, consumers in Maryland and the licensed states listed here may contact Turo Insurance Agency at (415) 508-0283 or claims@turo.agency.
