This car was perfect for our trip! Easy transactions for pick up and drop off...

Older car, think it was too much money for the rental. Had to pay to get car out of parking spot at airport. Car ran fine with no issues.

The Toyota Camry Hybrid was a dream. It road like a cloud. The most outstanding customer service from Marcelo and Marilyn. If I could it would be 10 + stars above the 5 stars. I would definitely use them again - highly recommend.

Easy, excellent experience. Will definitely use again when next in town. Thank you!
Mike! thank you so much for such a great ride and being so accommodating! i will be sure to look you up on Turo if needed in the future!
Easy pick up… great on gas. Smooth and spacious ride. I like the link they sent to lock, unlock and horn. Great idea.

What a wonderful experience!! Between the communication, the car itself, and detailed instructions, I will happily rent this Turo again! So grateful for ease of pick up and drop off at the airport too.

As expected for a budget rental, typical reliable Toyota that will get you where you need to be if not worried about style!
Car is in excellent condition and very well detailed. We had no issues with pick up and drop off. Colleen was very attentive throughout the whole experience.
Great economy car to get a mission accomplished. Chris is a great host. Made things simple and streamlined.

Omgoodness, what a nice car and nice lady who owns it. This was my first Turo rental and I didn’t know some stuff. But, Colleen was very clear and helpful through my learning curve. Will definitely rent from her again. 🙏🏾👍🏽😎

An SUV offers excellent visibility and ample space for luggage, perfect for scenic drives through the rolling hills and charming towns. If you prefer fuel efficiency, a compact car or an electric vehicle could be ideal for navigating both city streets and country roads. For a touch of luxury, a high-end sedan or convertible allows you to enjoy the beautiful landscapes in style. When navigating peak hour traffic between New Windsor and nearby cities, planning is key. Consider using navigation apps that provide real-time traffic updates to help you avoid congested routes. If possible, adjust your travel times to avoid the busiest periods, typically early mornings and late afternoons. Familiarize yourself with alternative routes, such as scenic backroads, which can offer a more pleasant drive during busy times. In New Windsor, be prepared for potential congestion near major intersections and bridges. Stay patient and allow extra time for your journey, especially when heading towards larger cities like Newburgh or Poughkeepsie. Remember, a well-chosen rental car can make your commute more comfortable, regardless of traffic conditions.

In New Windsor and nearby areas, parking facilities vary depending on the location. In the town center, you'll find a mix of on-street parking and small public lots, often with time limits during business hours. Be sure to check signs for any restrictions or permit requirements. When visiting popular attractions or parks, dedicated parking areas are usually available, but they can fill up quickly during peak seasons. In more rural areas, parking may be less structured, so always ensure you're not obstructing traffic or private property. If you're planning to explore larger nearby cities, consider using park-and-ride facilities or public parking garages to avoid city center congestion. Your rental car's size may influence your parking options, so choose wisely based on your planned destinations.
To prepare for driving in New Windsor's varied weather conditions, flexibility and foresight are crucial. In winter, opt for a car with all-wheel drive or winter tires to handle potential snow and ice. Pack an ice scraper and be prepared for slower driving speeds. During spring and fall, be cautious of wet leaves on the road which can reduce traction. Summer often brings sudden thunderstorms, so ensure your rental car has good windshield wipers and remember to use headlights in heavy rain. Year-round, check local weather forecasts before setting out and adjust your plans if necessary. Choosing the right rental car for the season can greatly enhance your safety and comfort while exploring New Windsor and its beautiful surroundings.
When navigating rural backroads around New Windsor, stay alert and drive cautiously. Be prepared for narrow lanes, sharp turns, and potentially unpaved surfaces. Reduce your speed, especially around blind corners, and be ready to yield to oncoming traffic on single-lane roads. Watch for wildlife, particularly during dawn and dusk when animals are most active. Keep your headlights on, even during the day, to increase visibility. In your rental car, ensure you have a good map or reliable GPS, as cell service can be spotty in rural areas. Always respect private property and "No Trespassing" signs. These scenic backroads offer a charming view of New Windsor's countryside, but remember to prioritize safety while enjoying the picturesque drive.
Drivers can find several convenient gas stations in and around New Windsor to keep their rental cars fueled up. The main thoroughfares, such as Route 9W and Route 32, have multiple options available. In the heart of New Windsor, you'll find gas stations near major intersections and shopping areas. For those exploring the outskirts or heading towards neighboring towns like Newburgh or Cornwall, gas stations are strategically located along the main routes. It's advisable to refuel when your tank is around a quarter full, especially if you're planning to venture into more rural areas where stations might be less frequent. Most gas stations in the area are open late or 24/7, ensuring you can refuel your rental car at your convenience.

The New York State Thruway (I-87) is a major toll road nearby, offering a faster route to destinations north and south of New Windsor. Consider getting an E-ZPass for convenience if you plan extensive travel on toll roads. Always factor potential toll costs into your travel budget. Remember, some rental cars may come equipped with toll transponders, so check with your rental provider about their toll policies to avoid unexpected charges.
