The car itself was good and safe. It was not professionally cleaned as stated, it had dirt, dog hair, and grime everywhere. It was stated the car would have a full tank of gas at pickup and when I picked it up it only had 1/8. The pickup location was listed as Newark and two days prior I was messaged that pickup/drop off was in Tarrytown. I tried to message/call Nicholas about this and there was no response for 24 hours. I was met with a message that Tarrytown was the primary location and we would have to pay a custom delivery fee to have pickup be Newark. With drop off I was told the window was 9-10 and originally I had set up 10 but a situation came up and I needed to change it to 9, I was then told that the 5 hour notice I gave was not enough and I could not change it (I was able to after a back and forth). With issues arising along the rental commutation was poor and rules/policies were changed. The license plate listed on the rental was also not correct. I received a message saying any mileage over the allotted would be charged at $1.25 per mile instead of the policy on the listing that is $0.29 per mile, this did not happen to me but should be noted.
We worked extensively with this guest and provided multiple accommodations, including a custom Newark Penn Station pickup/drop-off and schedule changes on short notice. Even with only a 5 AM notice, we accommodated an earlier same-morning delivery. The renter also requested vehicle release to a family member without the primary guest present, which we could not do per Turo policy, and we understand that frustration. We always aim to remain flexible, professional, and accommodating.
