Unfortunately, this was not a great rental experience. The host himself was nice and friendly, but there were several issues with the rental that made our trip more difficult than expected.
We had a scheduled drop-off time of 7:30 AM, but we didn’t hear from the host until around 8:00 AM that he was running late. The car ultimately wasn’t delivered until approximately 9:30 AM. This was especially frustrating because we had a 5.5-hour drive ahead of us and we were attending a wedding where my wife was the maid of honor, so the significant delay caused us to be late.
When we finally received the car, the interior had a smell of animal urine. We had been told the car had been detailed prior to our rental, but unfortunately, it did not appear or smell as though it had been cleaned. Additionally, the gas tank was nearly empty when the car was dropped off, so we had to make an additional stop to fill the tank before getting on the road.
While the host was pleasant, the late delivery, condition of the interior, and nearly empty gas tank made this rental experience disappointing and inconvenient. I hope these issues can be addressed for future renters
