David was a very nice and comfortable host, and the car was basically brand new, in great condition, and very clean. Communication and process were perfect, even though this was his first time renting out the car. The only thing I want to mention is that we later noticed some light scratches on the front right side of the hood, which neither of us had seen before the rental, but we were able to confirm they were already there from the pre-trip photos. Other than those small scratches on the right side of the hood, the car was in excellent condition overall. Great experience.

Loved the car. Transmission has a little trouble but other than that loved it

Love the car. Host was great with communication and drop off.. Everything was great

Just with the selection of the car I knew how the car would be so wasn’t expecting anything new. Just the bug thing was it but I took care of it

Dayton International Airport (DAY) is located just 10 miles from Downtown Dayton. With rental cars available right after arrival, airline passengers can reach Dayton's CBD in just 15 to 20 minutes.
Dayton follows Ohio’s standard US traffic laws — including rules around right-of-way, avoiding distractions while driving, wearing seat belts, respecting pedestrian crosswalks, and never driving impaired. To drive legally in Dayton, you must carry a valid driver’s license.
Speed limits default to 20 mph in school zones during school hours, 25 mph in residential or business areas, 55 mph on most two-lane state roads, 65 mph on urban freeways, and up to 70 mph on rural interstates.
Getting around Dayton is usually pretty easy, but there are a few intersections where traffic can back up or driving gets a bit hectic. Wilmington Pike near I-675 and the intersection of State Routes 725 and 741 often faces delays, especially near the highway. Roads like Wayne Avenue, Salem Avenue, and Burkhardt Road are known for having rough pavements or fast-moving traffic — so it’s smart to stay alert and give yourself a little extra time.
In addition, the winter months can significantly impact driving in Dayton. Snow, rain, and even the occasional blizzard can make roads slippery and hard to navigate. The city focuses first on clearing highways, main roads to schools and hospitals, and then side streets. When conditions are rough, it’s best to slow down, leave extra space between cars, and check the forecast before heading out.
Parking in downtown Dayton is easy and convenient, with plenty of options across garages, surface lots, and street meters. Most parking is located around key areas like Main Street, Ludlow, Third Street, First Street, and Fifth Street.
Some of the main garages include the Transportation Center Garage (E. Fifth St), Main Street Garage (N. Main), Schuster Garage (N. Ludlow), Reibold Garage (S. Main), and Montgomery County Garage (W. Third).
In addition, street parking is metered Monday through Friday but is free on evenings and weekends. So if you're thinking about renting a car, don’t worry — finding a parking spot shouldn’t be a problem!
No, Dayton itself has no toll roads. If you’re flying into Dayton International Airport, you won’t encounter any toll charges. However, while driving around Dayton is toll-free, Ohio does have toll roads. The Ohio Turnpike (I-80/I-90) is located in northern Ohio, which is far north of Dayton and only important if you are driving that way.
If you're in Dayton and driving an electric vehicle, you're in luck— there are plenty of public EV charging stations around the city, including both Level 2 and faster Level 3 chargers. You’ll find them near key spots like Day Air Ballpark, Miami Valley Hospital, Sinclair Community College, the University of Dayton, and even out by the Air Force Museum.
As for gas stations, those are easy to come by — they're spread across neighborhoods, from downtown to the suburbs. You’ll see them along main roads like Wilmington Pike, North Main Street, and near shopping areas like the Dayton Mall.
Renting a car in Dayton is a great way to unlock the city’s best spots with ease. While downtown is walkable for a quick stroll, incredible destinations like the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, Carillon Park, or Sunwatch Indian Village are a drive away. Getting a Dayton Airport car rental is simple with Turo, and the rental agreement process is quick — you’ll be on the road in no time!
