Trip was great but the shuttle company was very unprofessional and rude I was there right on time to pick up my car due to my flight getting delayed and my mom’s walker being lost. There should be a note on the reservation about there being a shuttle and how important it is to be on time so you don’t get yelled at. But otherwise the trip was great. Car ran good, and was comfortable. Jeff had good communication and was kind

Great car and awesome communication! We would definitely rent a car from Jeff again!

Kyle's communication was wonderful. Incredibly descriptive about where to find the car, park the car, etc. Photos included! I added on camp chairs and coolers that I didn't end up needing but I was floored by how thoughtful he was to include an umbrella because it might rain this week. Absolutely will rent from again next time in town! 5 stars PLUS! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🤩

Jeff”s communication was excellent, made renting from him very easy. The car was great and drives very well. Will definitely rent from him next time I’m in Vermont

First time using Turo so it took me maybe a little more effort to get things set up but my host was very accommodating and the trip went very smooth, the car was great and reliable.

Super-good rental experience. On last leg of trip on Hwy 89 mileage was 49.1! Everything has been clear and understandable.
Easy pick up and return. Car was clean and reliable. Jeff communicated well.

Pick-up was easy and simple, car was superbly clean and gas was all the way full!

Kyle was fantastic and his car drove like a dream. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a car in Burlington.

Super easy pickup from the airport and great car for adventures around Burlington. Responsive host.

Driving in Burlington is usually a breeze, especially if you're at the wheel of a sedan or a full-size SUV. Even if you're driving in the downtown area, traffic is rarely busy. You may, however, experience delays in reaching your destination during rush hour, so plan accordingly. While Vermont has a small-town atmosphere that keeps it from getting too crowded, you'll need to take it slow when driving during the winter.
Burlington is in the heart of New England, which means that it gets a lot of snow during the year. The average snowfall in the city is around 70 inches per year. You can expect to occasionally drive in poor weather conditions if you visit between November and April. To safely navigate icy roads, consider renting a full-size SUV or truck that maintains excellent traction with the road. Look for rentals like the Chevrolet Tahoe or Ford Expedition, both of which use 4WD.
When you're driving, the speed limit is 20 miles per hour (MPH) in Downtown Burlington and 25 MPH in residential areas. The speed limit climbs up to 55 MPH on urban freeways and 65 MPH on rural freeways.
Burlington provides drivers with off-street lots, garages, and on-street parking. While you may come across meters when attempting to park in certain areas of Downtown Burlington, free parking is readily available. If you require overnight parking, try the Downtown Garage with entrances at 60 College St. and 41 Cherry St. Overnight parking is permitted for up to two weeks at a daily rate of $12.
While there are currently two toll roads in Vermont, they don't work like most toll roads. You can travel along every highway around Burlington without paying fees at a toll booth. The Burke Mountain and Mt. Mansfield toll roads allow drivers to reach the peaks of these mountains if they pay a fee, which can range from $5 to $25 per passenger. Mt. Mansfield is around an hour to the east of Burlington, while Burke Mountain is roughly two hours away from the city.
Need to fill up before you go on a road trip? There are dozens of gas stations in and around Burlington from companies like Shell, Sunoco, Mobil, and Champlain Farms. If you're in the downtown area near the University of Vermont, you'll find a Mobil gas station at 811 Williston Rd.
If you book an electric sedan or SUV, don't worry. Burlington is home to 95 charging stations, two of which are free. Throughout Vermont, you'll have access to more than 400 charging stations, so don't hesitate to take your rental car to any location in the state. The main EV networks in Burlington are ChargePoint, Tesla, and Blink.
Having access to a rental vehicle like a Hyundai Elantra or Ford Mustang ensures you can experience all of Burlington on your own timetable. While you can take a short walk in Downtown Burlington to reach some of the most popular destinations in the city, a rental car will get you where you need to go at a much faster pace. Walking through Burlington can also be tiring because of how hilly the area is. With a rental car, you won't need to rely on public transportation to travel to the Burlington Farmers Market or visit North Beach Park.
