Whether you're in town for the vibrant art scene, the world-class restaurants, or you're scouting the city's unique neighborhoods, a van rental in Brooklyn can ensure you experience every nook and cranny of this city. Hopping on the subway is certainly possible, but if you've got your family in tow, a van rental may serve your purposes better.
You can visit The Brooklyn Museum, stroll along Coney Island's boardwalk, and take in the blossoms at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens - all in one day. Skip the rental counter and pick your van up at a pickup spot that's most convenient. Plan to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge? You can have your van waiting for you on the other side! You can also explore Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, and Long Island, all at your own pace.
On Turo, renting a van in Brooklyn is easy. Browse vans online, choose your preferred pickup location, book your van, and get on the road sooner. With pickup locations all across Brooklyn, New York and beyond, you'll be able to find the perfect van for whatever you have planned.

Enter a date and location in Brooklyn, NY (or beyond), filter to find the best car for you, and read reviews from previous renters.

Rent a car nearby or get one delivered to various destinations, including many airports, train stations, hotels, or maybe even your home.

Your host sends you pickup details, and you’re all set to hit the roads of Brooklyn, NY! If you have questions, you can easily chat with your host or contact support.

Sprinter Van was wonderful. Car delivery convenience was made even better when they found a closer location than I had asked for. Made for a great family trip.

Exceptional service, communication and support ! First time rented a large van from Turo. Deep and his team were very prompt and supportive. Dropped the van as well instead of pickup 👍
Super easy to work with. Great communication. Pick up and drop off were a breeze. Van drove great no problems

Daniel was extremely pleasant and accommodating. The van was in excellent condition. It was spacious, clean and it had heat, AC, radio and automatic back door. I have nothing negative to say and I will absolutely rent again and recommend him. Thanks for sharing your van with my huge family, everyone was extremely comfortable.

Van was in great condition. No issues with the drive. Smooth and stable for a 15 seater. Minor issue: rear door open warning light was always on, he told me to ignore it. More annoying issue: this host wants to be in person for pick up and drop off, which was annoying because they showed up 10 mins late for pickup and because I felt rushed bringing the car back to them for our agreed upon time. I’m only giving 5 stars for this review since they are clearly trying / had a broken leg / waited 40 minutes for me in the target at the end. Unfortunately, all of their effort is still worse than the average rental car company experience of a key drop off box and a car ready for you when you get there, which I’ve grown to also expect from Turo.

Second time renting this van. Hosts are extremely nice and very communicative. The van was also in fantastic condition, like new on both occasions.

Daniel is super helpful and accommodating! We love renting this van for our yearly ski trip and hope to rent it again next year!

The van was perfect for our needs. It ran great and was very clean. Pick up and drop off was very easy and straight forward. Daniel was a great host and was easy to contact when needed. He even made sure to reach out just incase we needed anything. Thank you for helping make my daughter's birthday amazing!
We had a great experience with this rental! The van was delivered right on time, spotless clean, and in excellent condition— everything worked perfectly. Communication throughout the process was clear, fast, and super helpful. Would definitely rent again and highly recommend!

Rent a van and explore Brooklyn, NY
Brooklyn brims with eclectic art galleries, parks, and family-friendly activities. In fact, there is no shortage of things to do if you're planning to visit Brooklyn with your family. With a van rental, trekking from one Brooklyn treasure to the next is a lot easier. Whether you want to start your day on the cobblestone streets of Dumbo and end it with your toes in the Atlantic Ocean, it's an adventure shaped by you.
Rent the perfect car
One of the best ways to experience Brooklyn's spirit is by spending a day in Dumbo. This culturally-rich neighborhood not only offers Jane's Carousel, waterfront restaurants, and boutique stores, but you'll also get jaw-dropping views of Manhattan's skyline. Begin your day on the Manhattan side and walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. Then spend a few hours having lunch in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Later, let the kids ride on Jane's Carousel and pop into some of the boutique shops or quirky galleries. For some sweet treats, try Lazy Sundaes or Jacques Torres Chocolate. When evening falls, make it a point to watch the sunset paint lower Manhattan's skyline into soft pink or reddish hues.
While Manhattan is home to many of New York City's world-renowned museums, Brooklyn holds an important gem of its own. The Brooklyn Museum is the second largest museum in New York City and houses an art collection of 500,000 objects. Beyond the trailblazing exhibitions, you'll find gorgeous landscaping on the museum property and an exciting year-round calendar of events. For families seeking an enriching and thought-provoking experience, the Brooklyn Museum is a must-see destination.
For a fun-filled day trip, head to Coney Island, where you can ride the legendary Cyclone rollercoaster, spin around on the Go-Kart raceway, spend hours exploring the New York Aquarium, and refuel with a classic hot dog at Nathan's Famous. Let the kids play some carnival games (remember to bring cash for that) while you take in the salty ocean breeze along the boardwalk. And if you want to slow down the pace a little, spread your towel on the beach, sink your feet into the sand, and soak up some sun.

Whether you're moving from another borough, like Queens, or you're relocating from another city, a van rental can make the process faster and less stressful. It's also an ideal solution for when you need to haul furniture and heavy items to your new home. It's an affordable option as well to a pricier budget truck and far more convenient than trying to haul items into a crowded subway.
Planning a group or family vacation? Rather than arranging meetup times or coordinating rideshares, transporting everyone in one van can save a lot of planning time. A compact van rental, like a Ford Transit, works well for a sporting event, a wedding, or even sightseeing around the city.
Need to have items delivered for your short-term project? Rent a cargo van so you can easily transport your equipment and supplies to your Brooklyn location all at once rather than having to make multiple trips in a smaller car.

Pickup near or at Airports
Brooklyn is often crowded with both pedestrians and cars, so navigating a van through the city may be challenging at times, especially in rush hour traffic. You'll also have to contend with driving a larger vehicle, fitting it into tighter parking spots, and driving under underpasses. Here are some tips for driving a van in Brooklyn.
Parking a van can be tricky, as Brooklyn has narrow streets and many of the parking spaces are designed for compact cars. Many streets are lined bumper to bumper with cars, too, and space is further limited by driveways and fire hydrants. In addition, some parking garages have van height restrictions that some vans can't clear. Outdoor lots are available, but those tend to be pricier. Brooklyn also follows specific street cleaning days, which means certain sides of the street are off limits for specific hours. While it's a challenge to park a van in Brooklyn, it's still possible. Just remember to set aside extra time to find a good spot.
Choosing the right type of van for your Brooklyn trip will depend on what you need it for. If you're renting a passenger van, consider a small van that seats 7-9 passengers rather than a larger one. It can be tough to park larger vans. Plus, smaller ones are easier to handle. If you'd prefer something slightly larger than an SUV but smaller than your typical van, there's also a compact van. Not only is a compact van easier to park, but it's also better when driving through Brooklyn's one-way streets.
If you're moving furniture or equipment, you'll need a cargo or moving van. Try to rent a cargo van rather than a box truck. A cargo van is easier to handle but still offers plenty of space. A good rule of thumb? Select the smallest van that meets your needs.
Before you rent a cargo van for your Brooklyn trip, make sure you know the van's maximum load capacity. This will prevent you from overloading the van and possibly damaging the suspension or the brakes. Remember to secure all your items, too, using straps or bungee cords. Unsecured items can easily slip, be tossed around, or break when the van turns, makes sudden stops, or hits bumps.
When loading the van, distribute the weight evenly. If your load is uneven, it can be dangerous, especially when turning. If you need to access items along the way, leave space so you can easily get to them, or leave them near the door. Finally, protect your fragile items by packing them in bubble wrap, towels, or blankets.
There are plenty of gas stations in Brooklyn, like Shell and Sunoco. Drivers with EV vans can charge up at the Revel charging station, EVgo, and the Tesla Supercharger station. Keep in mind that many cargo vans use diesel, so always check the type of fuel they take before fueling up. EV charger vans also need compatible chargers. The charger should support your connector type.
