Our 6-day Maui vacation was made even better thanks to this amazing Turo host. From the moment we booked the car until check-out, he was incredibly responsive, friendly, and helpful. He went above and beyond by providing proactive tips and recommendations about Maui that made our trip smooth, stress-free, and much more enjoyable. The car itself was excellent—clean, reliable, very smooth to drive, and incredibly fuel-efficient, which was perfect for exploring the island. Everything about the rental process was seamless. I highly recommend renting from this host if you're visiting Maui. Thank you for helping make our vacation such a wonderful experience!
Best car you could rent for Maui . People were easy to work with and responsive . Car play listed is for if you plug your phone in but it would only work with older iPhones not a newer one one that is for sure so I’m sure it just needs a software update. Would have just been nice to know ahead of time. Not worth docking a star over but it was annoying having to hold my phone to navigate as the car doesn’t have its own navigation system that works . All in on very happy with it was a good price. Definitely make sure you have a Costco membership or be prepared to get the stick on gas prices. Averages 25 mpg overall including the trip to Hana and we put about 400-450 miles on the car will rent from them again when we come back of possible. Thanks for the car! Mahalo

We had an amazing experience renting this 2025 Ford Bronco from Hoa. From start to finish, everything was smooth and stress-free. The Ford Bronco was well maintained, comfortable and perfect for exploring the beautiful island of Maui. Hoa was an outstanding host. Communication was quick, friendly and clear. Pick up and drop off were simple and convenient. We really appreciate how easy the entire rental process was. Would absolutely rent from Hoa again. Mahalo for helping our Maui vacation even more memorable!
Jeep Wrangler was perfect. Lots of extra details like phone mount on dash, phone charger, cooler. It was the perfect vehicle for a family drive on road to Hana. There are lots of jeep rentals on Maui, but John Mark's jeep is the best because of the power top and because it sips gas. Gas isn't cheap on Maui and our round trip to Hana only cost $22 in gas. We also encountered rain on our journey, and with the push of a button we were dry. Most jeep rentals through the rental companies are hard top which kind of defeats the purpose of renting one. Pickup was easy, price was right, and owner was great. I can't imagine there is a better rental on the island.
Ryan was an outstanding host! His Jeep Wrangler was clean, well-maintained, and perfect for exploring Maui. He was incredibly quick to respond to any questions, gave us great local recommendations, and was friendly from start to finish. The whole rental process was smooth and hassle-free. I would absolutely rent from Ryan again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great Turo experience!

I had a great experience renting this car! The vehicle was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The rental process was smooth and easy, and the service was friendly and professional. I would definitely rent from them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable rental car!

Great rental for our Maui trip. The Jeep was perfect for our family, ran well, and pickup and drop off at the airport were easy. The hosts were responsive and provided detailed instructions throughout the trip. Would rent from them again.
The 2021 Hyundai Tucson was quite a bit rougher than the pics when reserved, dents and scrapes all over, but ran great and got the job done! Still worth the price. Great communication. I Would book with josh in the future.

Car was a bit dated but it did what its supposes to do for a much more reasonable price. Transactions were easy and clear. Thanks for allowing us to utilize your car while on the island!

Really easy pickup from the airport parking lot. I haven’t driven this type of car before but it drove really well around the curvy roads of the island. Will book again!
Hoa was an amazing host. He not only provided a perfect car but also the best suggestions for making our trip to Maui the most memorable ever. The communication was first class and the “Subie” was perfect, way fun driving around looking more local than not… as in not a Chevy rental car lol. We will definitely be back and will be renting from Hoa again.

The car was exceptionally well-maintained and drove perfectly throughout our trip. The owner was incredibly helpful, responsive, and easy to communicate with, making the entire rental experience seamless. We would definitely recommend this car to our family and friends who plan to visit Maui. Thank you for helping make our trip even more enjoyable!

The car was great especially for the price. It got great gas mileage too. It held all our beach stuff and all of us which was miraculous. Kama was great and very accommodating in pickup and drop off. We were able to meet him for a small fee at departures which made airport day so much easier.

Great car for a great price. Host was very easy to communicate with and pickup/dropoff couldn’t have gone smoother. Highly recommend.
First rental with Turo and Christopher made it such an awesome experience. He was friendly, communicative, and incredibly understanding when our travel plans caused us to arrive later than expected. He even provided a list of great local restaurants, which made our trip even better. Couldn’t have asked for a better host!

Great experience with Jobe! The car was clean and exactly as described. Jobe was an excellent host, and communication was great from start to finish. Everything went smoothly. I’ll definitely rent from Jobe again on my next trip to Maui. Highly recommended!
From Kahului Airport, you'll have access to Maui's most spectacular attractions and natural wonders. The Road to Hana offers one of the world's most scenic coastal drives, while Haleakala National Park provides otherworldly volcanic landscapes and sunrise viewing opportunities. Lahaina's historic whaling village combines cultural experiences with waterfront dining, and the beaches of Kihei stretch for miles along the island's sunny south shore. An SUV ensures comfortable travel across the island's diverse terrain, from sea-level coastal roads to mountain elevations, while providing ample space for snorkeling gear, cameras, and souvenirs from your Maui explorations.
Haleakala National Park showcases Maui's dramatic volcanic landscape with its massive crater and unique desert-like terrain at over 10,000 feet elevation. The summit area offers incredible sunrise and sunset viewing opportunities, along with hiking trails that wind through otherworldly rock formations and rare silversword plants. The winding road to the summit features numerous switchbacks and elevation changes that make the journey as memorable as the destination. Your SUV's enhanced ground clearance and stability prove invaluable on the mountain roads, while the spacious interior accommodates warm clothing needed for the cooler summit temperatures and camera equipment for capturing the spectacular panoramic views.
The Road to Hana presents one of the world's most famous scenic drives, featuring over 600 curves and dozens of one-lane bridges as it winds along Maui's rugged northeastern coastline. This legendary route passes countless waterfalls, bamboo forests, and secluded beaches accessible only by car. The journey reveals hidden gems like the Seven Sacred Pools and Waikani Falls, where you can stop for swimming and photography. The elevated driving position and comfortable seating make the long journey more enjoyable while navigating the narrow, winding sections of this iconic Hawaiian road.
Lahaina combines rich Hawaiian history with modern resort amenities along Maui's western shore. This former whaling capital features preserved 19th-century buildings, art galleries, and waterfront restaurants overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Front Street bustles with shops, cafes, and cultural attractions, while nearby beaches offer excellent snorkeling and whale watching opportunities during winter months. The town serves as a departure point for various ocean activities and sunset sailing excursions. Parking can be challenging in the historic downtown area, but having your own vehicle allows you to explore the surrounding beaches and return to Lahaina for evening dining and entertainment at your convenience.
Kihei stretches along Maui's sunny south shore with miles of golden sand beaches and calm, clear waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling. This area enjoys some of the island's most consistent sunshine and gentle trade winds, making it ideal for beach activities year-round. The beachfront parks offer picnic areas, restrooms, and easy ocean access, while nearby shopping centers provide dining and grocery options. Having a rental car allows you to beach-hop along the coastline, discovering your favorite spots for morning swims, afternoon snorkeling, or sunset viewing while easily transporting beach chairs, umbrellas, and coolers.
Iao Valley State Park protects one of Maui's most sacred and scenic locations, featuring the iconic Iao Needle rock formation rising 1,200 feet from the valley floor. This lush rainforest valley holds deep cultural significance in Hawaiian history and offers easy walking trails through tropical vegetation alongside a flowing stream. The park provides a cool, refreshing contrast to Maui's beach environments with its towering mountains, cascading waterfalls, and dense green canopy. The short drive from central Maui makes it an accessible day trip, and your SUV easily handles the park's paved access roads while providing space for hiking gear, water bottles, and rain jackets needed for the valley's occasionally misty conditions.

Hawaii follows standard US traffic laws with right-hand driving and speed limits clearly posted throughout Maui. Always yield to pedestrians at crosswalks, especially in busy areas around Kahului and popular destinations like Lahaina and Kihei. Your valid driver license from any US state or international driving permit allows you to operate rental vehicles on the island.

Several gas stations operate within a short drive of Maui Kahului Airport along Haleakala Highway and Dairy Road. You'll find multiple fuel options as you head toward central Kahului or when traveling to other Maui locations. Fill up your rental car before exploring distant areas like Lahaina, as gas stations become less frequent in remote island locations.
Exit Kahului Airport (OGG) and head northeast on Keolani Place toward Haleakala Highway. Turn right onto Haleakala Highway and continue straight for a short distance to reach downtown Kahului. The route takes you through Maui's main commercial district with clear signage directing you to central Kahului locations.
