Chad was such a pleasure to rent from! He really cares about his customers and wants you to have the best experience when renting his Jeep. The Jeep is absolutely lovely! We had a great time exploring the island. We felt safe and had a lot of fun! Thank you Chad for allowing us to travel in style while in Maui!
Great monthly rental! Darlene was very responsive and helped when we had any issues, specifically getting a new battery right when we needed it! Would definitely rent again. Thank you, Darlene!

Excellent experience! The Nissan Rogue 2024 was clean, comfortable, and in perfect condition. The car drove smoothly, had great acceleration, and was very reliable throughout my trip. It smelled fresh and was well maintained. The entire rental process was easy and stress-free. Everything went perfectly from pickup to drop-off. I would definitely rent from this host again and highly recommend both the vehicle and the host to other travelers. Thank you for a great experience!
Hannah was amazing to rent from! The Jeep was perfect for our Maui honeymoon and exactly what we needed for exploring the island. Pickup and drop-off at the Andaz were super easy, communication was great, and she was very helpful with local tips for Mama’s Fish House, Paia, Ho‘okipa, and the Road to Hana. We ended up doing part of the Road to Hana, Twin Falls, and a North Shore lunch, and the Jeep made the day so much better. Highly recommend renting from Hannah — great host, great vehicle, and a smooth experience from start to finish!
This was my wife and I's first time renting a vehicle thru Turo. Pickup/communication was easy and efficient. The car worked out well for us. We had to cut our rental short due to a family emergency that forced us to fly home early, cutting our trip short. Robert worked with us and allowed us to edit our reservation which was much appreciated. We would rent from him again in a heartbeat.

JJ was super accommodating to our last minute reservation and the wrangler was the perfect maui exploration vehicle for our family to see the island. 10/10 recommend and will be booking again next time!

Great experience with the Subaru Forester! Clean, comfortable, reliable, cold AC, and perfect for exploring Maui. The owner was friendly and very responsive. Would definitely rent again! 🌺🚙
Awesome car! Pick up and drop off was easy. Communications was easy. I would highly recommend using again.
Outstanding host! Easy pickup and drop off. Super clean vehicle. Great communication!

Great car to explore Maui! Also great communication from London and Jill! Can’t recommend enough!

Very nice car. Everything was in order. Even helped us with a last minute extension due to the tropical storm! All around great experience. Would recommend.

Opting for an SUV rental in Kihei opens up a world of possibilities for your Maui adventure. These versatile vehicles offer ample space for beach gear, hiking equipment, and luggage, making them perfect for family trips or group outings. The elevated driving position provides better visibility of Maui's stunning scenery, while the robust build ensures comfort on both paved roads and more challenging terrain.
The legendary Road to Hana is a must-drive route when visiting Maui, and an SUV rental is the ideal vehicle for this journey. This winding coastal highway offers stunning ocean views, lush rainforests, and cascading waterfalls. An SUV's higher clearance is beneficial for navigating the road's curves and occasional rough patches. Pack a picnic to enjoy at one of the many scenic stops, such as the black sand beach at Wai'anapanapa State Park. Remember to start your journey early to make the most of this unforgettable drive.
Haleakala National Park, home to Maui's highest peak, is a testament to the island's volcanic origins and diverse ecosystems. An SUV rental is perfect for the drive up to the summit, which offers breathtaking sunrise views and a unique lunar-like landscape. The park's varying climates, from subtropical rainforest to alpine desert, make an SUV's climate control features particularly valuable. Don't forget to bring warm layers, as temperatures at the summit can be surprisingly cool, even in Hawaii.
While Kihei enjoys a sunny, dry climate, other parts of Maui can experience varied weather conditions. An SUV rental provides the versatility needed to handle these changes comfortably. Whether you're driving through occasional rain showers in Upcountry Maui or navigating sun-drenched coastal roads, an SUV offers stability and comfort. Its all-wheel drive capability can be particularly useful during winter months when visiting higher elevations like Haleakala, where conditions can be unpredictable.
When renting an SUV in Kihei, consider your specific needs. Compact SUVs are great for couples or small families, while larger models accommodate more passengers and gear. Book early, especially during peak seasons, to ensure availability. Look for features like a backup camera for easy parking in busy areas like Kahului. Consider fuel efficiency, as you'll likely be covering significant distances exploring Maui. Lastly, familiarize yourself with local parking regulations, particularly in popular beach areas where space can be limited.
In Kihei, popular pickup locations for SUV rentals booked on Turo include the Piilani Shopping Center and Azeka Shopping Center. These convenient spots allow guests to easily start their Maui adventures. Once you've picked up your rental SUV, consider exploring the scenic Road to Hana, which offers breathtaking views of the island's lush landscapes. Another great drive is the route to Haleakala National Park, where you can witness stunning sunrises and sunsets. For a coastal experience, take your SUV rental along the winding roads of West Maui, passing through charming towns like Lahaina. Remember to check with your host on Turo about any specific pickup arrangements and always follow local traffic laws while enjoying these scenic drives in your rental SUV.
Kihei offers stunning coastal drives perfect for SUV rental adventures. The Road to Hana, starting near Kahului, winds through lush rainforests and along dramatic cliffs, offering breathtaking ocean views. For a closer option, explore the scenic route from Kihei to Wailea, where you'll find beautiful beaches and luxurious resorts. Another picturesque drive takes you from Kihei to Lahaina, passing through charming towns and offering glimpses of Maui's diverse landscapes. Remember to take breaks at scenic lookouts to fully appreciate the island's beauty. An SUV rental provides the comfort and visibility needed to enjoy these routes safely and comfortably.
Luxury SUV rentals offer enhanced comfort and performance for exploring Maui's varied terrain. These vehicles typically feature superior suspension systems, providing a smoother ride on Kihei's coastal roads and when venturing into more rugged areas. Advanced climate control systems are particularly beneficial in Maui's tropical climate, ensuring comfort during long drives. Luxury models often come with panoramic sunroofs, allowing passengers to fully immerse themselves in the island's beauty. While standard SUV rentals are capable, luxury options provide extra features like advanced safety systems and premium sound systems, enhancing the overall experience of exploring Maui's diverse landscapes from Kihei to the island's lush interior.
When navigating Kihei's winding coastal roads, several SUV rental safety features prove invaluable. Lane departure warnings are crucial for staying on course along curvy stretches. Adaptive cruise control helps maintain safe distances on busier sections near Kahului or when heading towards Lahaina. Hill descent control is beneficial for steeper coastal routes, especially useful when exploring areas beyond Kihei. Blind-spot monitoring is particularly helpful on scenic drives with frequent turns and potential hidden spots. Additionally, advanced traction control systems provide extra stability on Maui's occasionally wet or slippery roads, ensuring a safer journey as you explore the island's beautiful coastline and diverse terrain around Kihei.
Maneuvering a large SUV rental in Kihei's beachfront parking areas requires careful attention. Always approach slowly, as pedestrians and beachgoers may be present. Utilize your SUV rental's backup camera and parking sensors when available, especially in tighter spots near popular beaches. Consider backing into spaces when possible for easier exit. Be mindful of overhanging vegetation or low-hanging signs that might not be visible from the driver's seat. If unsure about a space's size, it's better to find a larger spot, even if it means a slightly longer walk to the beach. Lastly, always be aware of soft sand areas where larger vehicles might get stuck, particularly when parking near less developed beaches in South Maui.
When encountering Maui's sudden tropical rain showers while driving an SUV rental in Kihei, it's crucial to adjust your handling. Reduce your speed immediately, as roads can become slippery quickly. Increase your following distance from other vehicles, especially on coastal routes. Use your SUV rental's rain-sensing wipers if available, or adjust manual wipers to the appropriate speed for visibility. Avoid sudden braking or sharp turns, which can lead to hydroplaning. If your SUV rental is equipped with all-wheel drive, engage it for better traction on wet roads. Be extra cautious on winding roads, as rain can make them more challenging to navigate. Lastly, if the rain becomes too heavy, consider pulling over safely until conditions improve, ensuring a safer journey around Maui.
When selecting an SUV rental for a family trip to Kihei's beaches, consider several key factors. Space is crucial — ensure there's ample room for passengers and beach gear. Look for models with easy-to-clean interiors, as sand is inevitable. Good fuel efficiency is important for exploring Maui without frequent stops. Consider an SUV rental with roof racks for surfboards or kayaks if you plan water activities. Comfort features like multi-zone climate control are beneficial in Maui's warm climate. If you're planning to visit more remote beaches around Kihei, consider an SUV rental with higher ground clearance. Lastly, choose a vehicle with good visibility to enjoy Maui's scenic coastal drives and make parking at busy beach lots easier.
For long-distance SUV rental travel around Maui's diverse terrain, comfort is key. Adjust your seat and steering wheel for optimal posture, especially important on winding roads from Kihei to other parts of the island. Use lumbar support if available to prevent back strain during longer drives. Take regular breaks to stretch and enjoy Maui's scenic viewpoints. Utilize your SUV rental's climate control to maintain a comfortable temperature, particularly when transitioning between Kihei's warm beaches and cooler upcountry areas. Pack plenty of water and snacks for the journey. Consider using seat cushions for extra comfort on longer trips. Lastly, if your SUV rental has adjustable suspension, use it to your advantage on different terrains for a smoother ride across Maui's varied landscapes.
SUV rentals offer distinct advantages for group excursions to Kihei's popular snorkeling spots compared to minivans. They typically provide better ground clearance, which is beneficial when accessing some of Maui's more secluded beaches. SUV rentals often have more robust air conditioning systems, ideal for Kihei's warm climate. Their higher seating position offers better views of Maui's scenic coastline during drives. Many SUV rentals come with roof racks, useful for transporting snorkeling gear. While minivans might offer more interior space, SUVs generally provide a more comfortable ride on Maui's varied terrain. Additionally, SUV rentals' versatility makes them suitable for other activities beyond snorkeling, like exploring Kihei's surrounding areas or venturing to Maui's upcountry regions.
