SUV rental in Metairie, LA

The car itself ran and drove smoothly, and the host was attentive and responsive to my messages. Unfortunately, the overall experience and condition of the vehicle did not match what I expected, especially considering I paid almost $200 per day. I originally turned to Turo because Avis did not have the type of vehicle I needed and the airport was experiencing a shortage of rental cars. My first Turo host never approved my request. The second host informed me that their vehicle had a cracked windshield but said it drove fine and they planned to repair the glass after my rental. I contacted Turo about the crack, and Turo canceled that reservation and gave me this vehicle as another option. Because this was a last-minute situation, I contacted this host and explained exactly what had happened. He reassured me that I would be good with his vehicle. Unfortunately, when I received the vehicle, it also had cracks in the windshield. In addition, the driver’s-side rear seat shook/rattled while driving, the vehicle had an unpleasant smell, and the passenger-side front fog light appeared to be completely knocked out. I was also pulled over by the police because a taillight was not working. Thankfully, I did not receive a ticket. We were able to get the light to come back on by touching/adjusting it, but being pulled over because of an equipment issue on a rental vehicle was concerning. My biggest concern was having to drive while constantly wondering whether the cracked windshield would spread or become a bigger safety issue. At nearly $200 per day, I do not believe a renter should receive a vehicle with this many existing maintenance and condition issues. I contacted Turo about the situation and was willing to return the vehicle and switch to another one. However, there were no comparable vehicles available. Turo then waited until I had already traveled more than an hour away to attend a funeral before telling me I could receive a refund if I immediately returned the vehicle. At that point, I explained that I was already more than an hour away and could not simply turn around and return it. I want to be fair: the host communicated with me and the vehicle drove smoothly. However, the cracked windshield, malfunctioning taillight, missing/damaged fog light, rattling rear seat, odor, and the fact that I was actually stopped by police because of the taillight made this rental unacceptable for the price I paid. My issue is not simply that the vehicle wasn’t perfect. My issue is that for almost $200 a day, I expected a vehicle that was properly maintained, safe, and ready to rent without having to worry about existing damage or being stopped by law enforcement because of an equipment problem.

We had an excellent experience from start to finish. The owner was wonderful to deal with and communicated clearly and promptly throughout the trip. Every question was answered, and the whole process felt easy. The vehicle was perfect for our trip. It drove beautifully, was a pleasure to spend time in, and was a real head turner everywhere we went. We enjoyed it so much that it became part of what made the trip memorable. I would absolutely rent from this owner again and recommend both the vehicle and the experience.

Having received Turos that barely had more cleaning than to remove trash, this car was in the nicest shape I've ever seen. Inside and out, the car seemed like it had been professionally detailed. Absolute 5-star job, and would definitely rent from them again. Two things to share. (1) it would help to make it clear that the vehicle is not being picked up at a residence or business. If the information was in the listing, we did not see it. It was a little confusing that we were picking up an unlocked car in a public parking area, and (2) Apparently the Grand Cherokee model has very little space between Fuel Full, and less than full. When we picked up the car we were initially a little put off that the vehicle was not completely full (was slightly below the full line). Having filled the vehicle on two separate occasions, I can now see that the model is both hard to top off, and drops below "completely" full very quickly. We were not really shorted fuel. This was an excellent vehicle and rental experience.

I had an amazing experience renting from this host! Both he and his son were absolutely awesome, polite, and genuinely caring. I had an unexpected emergency during my rental, and they went above and beyond by bringing me to the hospital in the rental car and making sure I was okay. Their kindness, compassion, and willingness to help during a stressful moment meant more to me than they probably realize. You don’t come across people like this every day, and I’m truly grateful for how they treated me. I would highly recommend renting from them to anyone, and I would definitely rent from them again. If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Everything went smoothly.The car did what it was supposed to,no mechanical or tire issues. A/C was nice and cold. In my opinion this is a much better option than a rental company who overcharge for everything and still try to upsell you. Next time I need to rent a car I'll be using Turo.

I had a great experience renting this Jeep! I made my reservation only about an hour and a half before I needed the vehicle, and Mike was immediately on top of everything. He had the Jeep delivered within an hour and responded quickly to all of my questions. The vehicle was clean, reliable, and drove great. The entire process was smooth, convenient, and stress-free. Excellent customer service—I would definitely rent from Seven Rent A Car again and highly recommend him!

The car was excellent. Clean and drove well. The owner was great! They were responded quickly with guidance on locating and retrieving the car when I arrived late at night but ahead of the reservation time. Helpful with instructions from pick up to drop off and checked in during trip to ensure everything was going smoothly.
