Problem with the navigation

The navigation system in this vehicle is functional and typically easy to use. For one reason or another, Jim explained that he was unable to utilize the GPS while on his trip. Upon examining the navigation system once the vehicle was returned, the system is fully functional. I’m not quite sure what happened or why he was unable to use it.
