Great car! Great service except for minor detail of not sharing the lockbox code in the message from the very beginning. Other than that it was a great rental for me while my car was being serviced!

Everything was great with the car. The host and co-host were responsive, answered all of my questions, and were very flexible with both pick-up and drop-off. The only minor issue was that the car had a noticeable cigarette smell. Other than that, everything was perfect, and the car drove very smoothly.

Frequently asked questions in Glastonbury

Why choose an SUV for Connecticut adventures?

SUVs provide excellent visibility for navigating Connecticut's winding country roads and historic downtown areas like Hartford and Glastonbury. The elevated seating position helps drivers spot wildlife and scenic overlooks throughout the state's diverse landscapes. Connecticut's mix of urban centers like Bridgeport and rural destinations makes an SUV rental the perfect choice for versatile exploration.

How to handle an SUV on New England roads?

Connecticut roads feature tight turns through historic neighborhoods in cities like Stamford and Waterbury, where SUV drivers should reduce speed and use mirrors frequently. The higher center of gravity requires gentle steering inputs when navigating Hartford's downtown streets or Glastonbury's residential areas. Practice parking in smaller spaces common throughout Connecticut's older town centers before venturing into busy areas.

What SUV features help in Connecticut winters?

All-wheel drive systems provide crucial traction on Connecticut's snow-covered roads, especially when traveling between cities like Norwich and Meriden. Heated seats and remote start features make winter SUV rentals more comfortable during Connecticut's cold months. Ground clearance helps navigate snow-covered parking areas at ski resorts and winter attractions throughout the state.

Which destinations suit SUV exploration from Glastonbury?

Rental SUVs excel for reaching Connecticut's state parks and hiking trails accessible from Glastonbury, including areas around Newington and Southington. The cargo space accommodates camping gear and outdoor equipment for adventures throughout Connecticut's scenic regions. Hartford's cultural attractions and Danbury's shopping areas are easily accessible with an SUV's comfortable seating and storage capacity.

Are compact or full-size SUVs better for families?

Full-size rental SUVs offer three rows of seating ideal for larger families exploring Connecticut attractions from Glastonbury to Wallingford. Compact SUVs provide better fuel economy for daily drives around Hartford while still offering more space than standard cars. Consider your luggage needs and passenger count when choosing between SUV sizes for your Connecticut adventure.

What safety systems should you activate in your SUV?

Lane departure warnings help maintain position on Connecticut highways connecting cities like Windsor and Stratford. Blind spot monitoring proves valuable when changing lanes on busy routes around Hartford and other Connecticut urban areas. Automatic emergency braking systems provide extra protection in Connecticut's varied traffic conditions, from rural roads to city centers like Glastonbury.

What kind of license do I need to rent a car on Turo?

Turo accepts valid licenses (not expired, suspended, or revoked) that allow for full driving privileges; this includes driver's licenses issued outside of the US. Licenses that Turo doesn't accept in the US include any that have expired, have been altered, are conditional, probational, provisional, or restricted. Learner's permit/instruction permits are not accepted.

How does car rental insurance work on Turo?

No, you don't need personal insurance coverage to rent a car on Turo. In the US, any personal insurance you may have that covers damage to the host's vehicle would kick in before your Turo protection plan. When booking a car in the US, you'll choose between three protection plans — Premier (eligibility requirements apply), Standard, or Minimum — to get the level of protection that's right for you. On each trip, you're covered with third-party automobile liability insurance provided under a policy issued to Turo by Travelers Excess and Surplus Lines Company.* In New York state, you'll also choose between Premier (if available), Standard, or Minimum. With each plan, you're covered with liability insurance of $1,250,000.* Protection plans for New York trips also include access to roadside assistance, priority phone support, and 24/7 customer assistance.

What documents and paperwork do I need to rent a car on Turo?

To rent a car on Turo, you must create a Turo account, have a valid driver's license, get approved to drive on Turo, and be 18 years old or older in the US, 21 years old or older in Australia, or 23 years old or older in Canada.
