Kent is one of the best hosts on Turo, hands down. Clear communications, helpful, car is awesome and well maintained. Best Memorial weekend experience ever. Wish there are 6 stars to give here! :)

Great car, easy pickup and drop-off at SFO. We had a lot of fun, will definitely rent again for our next trip!

Julia was a fantastic host! The Ford Bronco was clean, reliable, and exactly as described. Pickup and drop-off were incredibly easy and convenient, making the whole trip stress-free. Communication was great throughout, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. I would definitely rent from Julia again and highly recommend both her and the Bronco to anyone looking for a great Turo experience. Thanks, Julia!

Julian was sooo much fun to drive on the amaaazing Pacific Coast Highway 😊😊 the rental process with Sage was super easy and it was refreshing how responsive they were whenever I sent a message. I’d absolutely rent Julian again!!

Excellent trip and service. Host was very responsive, professional and attentive to our needs during our vacation. I would highly recommend host for future trips when in the San Francisco area. Much praise for excellent service.

Great host, and amazing road trip car! Flew into SFO, and the pickup and drop off process was quick and easy. Car rode very smooth and gave us no trouble. The hard top convertible was incredible and very easy to take off and put back on. Will be renting from this host again when I’m SFO.

Brand new car, enjoyed the pacific costal with it. Convertible rooftop was amazing. Although it’s a hybrid avg mpg is 18, also could not find any charging stations to charge the battery. If anyone wants the car drive fully electric ask the host to charge it before the trip.
The Convertible Mustang was the cherry on top of this 30th Anniversary trip to SF and Napa Valley. Gary was very accommodating and helpful throughout the planning and duration of the trip. The car was in itself, a highlight. The top was down more than it was up, thank you California weather. We will seek Gary out again for a return trip to SF.
Great car! Very well kept and fun to drive around in convertible. Would rent again!

This was an excellent car. I absolutely loved driving it. It raised my spirits during my trip, made it fun, and was reliable. Honestly, it made me want to drive this car. The host was accommodating and helpful. It was nice to have this part of my trip be reliable and hassle free, and bring a smile to my face.

Car was as advertised. Host very communicative and accommodating. Let us borrow a phone charger for duration of our trip. Would book again

Beautiful ND2 in perfect condition. Owner is a delight and the car was provided to me detailed and with a ceramic coating. Hard to tell it’s not brand new. 10/10 would rent again.

Everything was great. Car ran well. Clutch in good condition. Would rent again. Hosts were great

Best Turo experience we’ve had so far. Great communication and accommodation! Car was perfect too

Loved having a convertible in San Fran. Car was extremely clean! Ran great! Would absolutely use this company again!

Lovely for a trip to napa and the coast. Many compliments on the "sports car." .She is at 135k miles, so there are some quirks to her. Hung provided great communication.
This car was amazing!! Exactly how advertised and the host responded right away when I had any questions. Would rent this car again in the future!
AMAZING CAR! Super clean definitely worth the trip, most definitely recommend and would book again!
San Francisco offers endless opportunities for memorable road trips, from the winding curves of Lombard Street to the dramatic coastline of Highway 1. Your rental convertible provides the perfect way to experience the city's famous fog rolling over Twin Peaks, the vibrant murals of the Mission District, and the historic charm of Fisherman's Wharf. Navigate through Golden Gate Park, explore the trendy neighborhoods of Castro and Haight-Ashbury, or venture across the bay to discover Sausalito's waterfront dining and Napa Valley's renowned wineries.
The Golden Gate Bridge stands as San Francisco's most recognizable landmark, offering spectacular photo opportunities and breathtaking views of the bay. Drive across this engineering marvel and continue into the Marin Headlands for panoramic vistas of the city skyline. The winding roads through these coastal hills provide an exhilarating driving experience, especially with the top down in your rental convertible. Multiple viewpoints along the route offer perfect spots to stop and capture the bridge from different angles, while the nearby Crissy Field provides easy parking access and walking trails along the waterfront.
Known as the "crookedest street in the world," Lombard Street features eight sharp hairpin turns that challenge drivers while providing unique photo opportunities. The brick-paved street winds through beautifully landscaped gardens and Victorian homes in the prestigious Russian Hill neighborhood. Navigate slowly to appreciate the intricate details of the surrounding architecture and manicured flower beds. The area offers several parking options on nearby streets, and the summit provides stunning views of Alcatraz Island and the bay beyond.
Fisherman's Wharf buzzes with activity as San Francisco's most visited attraction, featuring fresh seafood restaurants, street performers, and unique shops. The famous sea lions at Pier 39 provide entertainment while you explore the waterfront boardwalk. Driving along the Embarcadero offers scenic bay views and easy access to multiple parking structures. Your rental convertible allows you to enjoy the fresh ocean air and sounds of the harbor as you cruise between attractions. The area connects seamlessly to other waterfront destinations like Ghirardelli Square and the historic Hyde Street Pier with its collection of vintage ships.
Spanning over 1,000 acres, Golden Gate Park houses world-class museums, botanical gardens, and recreational areas perfect for exploration. The Japanese Tea Garden offers tranquil pathways and traditional architecture, while the de Young Museum showcases impressive art collections. Drive through the park's scenic roads to discover hidden gems like the Buffalo Paddock and Stow Lake. Multiple parking areas throughout the park provide convenient access to various attractions, and the tree-lined drives create a peaceful escape from the city's bustling streets.
While Alcatraz Island requires ferry access, the journey begins at Pier 33 near Fisherman's Wharf, easily reached by car along the scenic Embarcadero. The former federal prison offers fascinating tours and stunning views back to the city skyline. Plan your visit around ferry schedules and explore the surrounding waterfront area before or after your island adventure. Your rental convertible provides comfortable transportation between the pier and other bay area attractions. The nearby Aquatic Park and Maritime National Historical Park offer additional historical exhibits and beautiful walking paths along the water's edge.

From SFO, take US-101 North toward San Francisco to reach downtown in the most direct route. The freeway connects seamlessly to city streets, making navigation straightforward for visitors arriving at San Francisco airport. Having your own vehicle provides flexibility to explore California's diverse neighborhoods at your own pace.
Turo accepts valid licenses (not expired, suspended, or revoked) that allow for full driving privileges; this includes driver's licenses issued outside of the US. Licenses that Turo doesn't accept in the US include any that have expired, have been altered, are conditional, probational, provisional, or restricted. Learner's permit/instruction permits are not accepted.
To rent a car on Turo in the US, you must be 18 years old or older.
To rent a car on Turo, you must create a Turo account, have a valid driver's license, get approved to drive on Turo, and be 18 years old or older in the US, 21 years old or older in Australia, or 23 years old or older in Canada. In the UK, you must be 21 years old or older and have held a UK or EU license for at least one year, or another driver's license for at least two years. In France you must be 18 years old or older and have held a driver's license for at least 2 years, longer for certain makes and models of vehicles. When you're booking your first trip, you'll go through a quick approval process by entering your driver's license and some other information. In most cases, you'll get approved immediately, and you'll be set for all future road trips, day trips, and business trips!
California requires headlights during rain and fog, which are common near San Francisco international airport. Right turns on red are permitted unless posted otherwise, and you must yield to pedestrians in crosswalks throughout the San Francisco area. Always carry your driver's license and vehicle registration when driving from the airport.
Some hosts offer unlimited distance for a trip; others set a daily distance limit — you'll need to check on each rental car individually to see if this service is provided. On the vehicle pages, you'll see the total miles or kilometers you're allowed to drive under the heading "Distance included." You can find cars offering unlimited mileage with every trip by using the "Unlimited distance" filter.
Several bridges around San Francisco charge tolls, including the Golden Gate Bridge and Bay Bridge that connect to different parts of California. Most toll facilities accept electronic payment systems, making travel convenient when you rent car from SFO. Cash payments are limited, so electronic toll accounts work best for rental cars.
Multiple gas stations operate along the airport access roads and nearby highways serving San Francisco airport visitors. You'll find stations on US-101 both north and south of the airport, plus several locations on surface streets in the surrounding area. Fuel prices in California tend to be higher than national averages, so budget accordingly for your Francisco car rental.
A Ford Mustang convertible or similar vehicle works wonderfully for exploring California's scenic coastal routes and mild climate. San Francisco's famous hills and ocean views become even more enjoyable with an open-top car rental from the airport. Consider weather patterns, as fog can roll in quickly, making a rental convertible less comfortable during certain times.
Highway 1 south leads to stunning coastal scenery, while heading north takes you through wine country and redwood forests from San Francisco international airport. The rental San Francisco experience opens up access to Napa Valley, Monterey Peninsula, and Lake Tahoe for extended adventures. Each route offers unique California landscapes perfect for exploring with your airport rental car.
