Waiting for the reimbursement for the prepaid gas that I paid $75 for. Rental of vehicle was overall a great experience.

The vehicle itself was great: clean, ran fine and got us where we needed to go. The only issue was that I paid extra for a “booster seat” but got a car seat instead. As I understand, a booster seat is different than a chest-restraint car seat. Booster meaning it’s just meant to boost a child so the regular car seat fits safely across their chest. Whereas a car seat is more for a toddler. My child is way too big for a car seat, but still needs a booster. So we couldn’t even use the car seat and that was a waste of money.
However, the service with our host was strange and because of this, I will definitely not be a repeat customer. We paid to use the vehicle from 7am to 11pm, to be picked up at our hotel and then left at our hotel at the end of the night (as agreed upon on the Turo app.) But several hours before the end of our trip, the host texted asking if we could return it to another location, about 25 min away from our hotel since he needed the car for an early morning trip and wanted it back asap. We initially said we wouldn’t be able to take it to another drop off since we are visiting the city and have no way to get back to the hotel. Then the host said if we could please leave it at the new drop off 25 min away, he’d Uber us back to the hotel. He seemed desperate so we agreed. But we definitely regret it; the new drop off location was in an industrial park outside the city. My husband took it by himself since there was no way we’d be dropping it off at night and waiting in the middle of who-knows-where with small kids. But upon dropping off the car, my husband had to wait almost 30 min for an Uber, alone, at 9:45 at night. The whole thing was really uncomfortable and I’m not sure if I’d consider using Turo again.
