Was a little confused on the pick up location. This was my first time renting a car this way. I didn’t know if the car would be in a reserve spot. We’re on the street. The car got me too, and from my destination. Easier than renting a car from a major car rental company… and more affordable!
The host was absolutely amazing! They left me a snack and a gift card in the car at the beginning of the trip. They responded quickly and let me return the car a day early, as my trip ended earlier than I anticipated. The car worked perfect, and the gas mileage was excellent. I would recommended this car and host to everyone, and if I’m ever back in the area I would rent a car from them again!

Great car for a quick trip! Clean and very comfortable to drive. Thank you so much! Would definitely rent from again!

Ryan is the best host -great communication -always friendly and the car is very well maintained and clean

Car was clean, drove great, host was attentive. Definitely will rent again if I’m ever in the area. Thank you! 😁

Muna , was a great host, great communication. Car was very clean, smelled great. Will definitely recommend and will definitely rent again.

Car was clean and cool to drive around, Host was helpful with fast responses to my questions! 10/10
Host was great, car rides fairly smooth and has great gas mileage (only gripe is the lack of cruise control, but otherwise 10/10)

Car is incredibly fun to drive, Doug’s great. Will definitely book again

Everything went great, Jed and Nick were communicative and responsive. The car ran well and got me where to needed to go. Thank you!

Ryan is the most amazing just , great communication , very responsive and always has the car in the most immaculate condition , super clean and ready to go -

At Minneapolis Airport, Turo offers convenient pickup options at the Quick Ride Ramp and Terminal 1 and 2 Parking Ramps. Car rental returns work the same way too. Simply check your Turo app for vehicle details, including exact parking stall locations. After landing, hop on the tram toward the Silver Ramp, under the Prince mural, follow the airport signs, and take an escalator or elevator up to the rental car area. No rental car counter queues here — just seamless access to your rental car.
Stay in touch with your Turo host to make the pickup process as smooth as Minnesota’s famous lakes on a still day. Use the Turo app to confirm your vehicle's exact location and any additional instructions. Whether you’re picking up remotely or in person, clear communication ensures a stress-free experience from baggage claim to the driver’s seat.
MSP requires a fee for vehicle delivery and return, which Turo collects and remits to the airport. If your host includes parking fees for entry or exit, this will be disclosed in their listing. Don’t forget to follow all airport signs and return your vehicle to the designated parking area to avoid unnecessary fees or fines. Easy as a Minnesotan snow day!

Contactless check-in and checkout
Many hosts offer contactless check-in and checkout, if their car has remote access technology, allowing you to find the car, unlock it, and be on your way without meeting them in person. Message your host for specific instructions.

Convenient airport car rental pickup and return
Rather than hustling at the busy terminal curbside, take your time picking up the rental car at approved parking lots or garages. Check in, load up your luggage, and get comfortable with the car without a big rush.

Pickup at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) is a breeze with Turo. At Terminal 1, follow airport signs to the Silver Ramp via the underground tram, then take an escalator or elevator up. Look for detailed instructions from your host in the Turo app to locate your vehicle. Whether you prefer remote or in-person pickup, it’s all streamlined — no waiting in rental car tram lines or rental car counters here!
Drop-off is just as easy. Head to the Quick Ride Ramp or Terminal 1 or 2 Parking Ramps and follow your host's instructions for returning the vehicle. Minneapolis International Airport is just a quick 10-mile drive from downtown Minneapolis. In your Turo rental car, you’ll be downtown in about 25 minutes — depending on traffic, of course. The short distance makes it easy to get to popular destinations like the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden or the bustling North Loop.
Driving in Minneapolis is straightforward, but here are a few tips to keep in mind:
- Drive on the right-hand side of the road.
- Speed limits in urban areas are typically 25–35 mph, while highways range from 55–70 mph.
- Watch for icy roads in winter and potholes during spring thaw.
- Ensure child car seats are properly secured if you’re traveling with little ones.
- Keep an eye out for cyclists and pedestrians — they’re everywhere!
Parking in Minneapolis is generally manageable, but it depends on your location. Downtown areas near Capella Tower on South 6th Street or the Target on La Salle Avenue have metered street parking and public parking garages close by. For free parking, head to suburban shopping areas or park-and-ride locations near the light rail transit. If you’re visiting the Mall of America, parking is abundant and free.
There aren't traditional toll roads in Minnesota, but there are two toll bridges — the International Falls Bridge and the Fargo-Moorhead Bridge. There are also some MnPASS express lanes on some highways in the Minneapolis-St Paul area for those willing to pay a fee to skip traffic.
Toll booths accept both cash and electronic payments, but using a pre-registered toll tag will save you time and hassle.
You’ll find gas stations sprinkled throughout Minneapolis, especially along major roads like the Blue Star Mem Hwy and the Purple Heart Trl.
EV chargers can be found around the city in places like South 6th St, North 4th St, downtown garages, and even near the airport. Use apps like PlugShare or ChargePoint to locate EV chargers while you’re out and about.
Public transport is decent in Minneapolis, but having a rental car offers unmatched convenience. You can explore the city and beyond — including nearby Saint Paul and scenic Lake Minnetonka — on your schedule. Plus, with a rental car, you won’t have to rely on unpredictable light rail transit or shuttle buses.
Turo’s lineup in Minneapolis caters to every need. From midsize sport luxury sedans like the BMW 5 Series for zipping through downtown, to extended luxury SUVs such as the Chevrolet Suburban for family adventures, there’s something for everyone.
Choose from options like EVs such as the Tesla Model 3, luxury SUVs like the Audi Q7, and even compact models like the Toyota Corolla. Whatever your style or needs, Turo makes renting a car at Minneapolis International Airport effortless.
The cost of car rental in Minneapolis can vary depending on car type, booking length, extras, and delivery. For cheap car rentals in Minneapolis, look out for discounts on longer-duration bookings and early bookings.
