If you are coming to Kauai and in need of a car, we could not recommend Mimi’s Nissan enough! The car worked great, it has been maintained very well, and was very clean. Our hotel was super close to the pick up location. Pick up/drop off was super quick and easy. The main reason why I recommended Mimi was not because of the car, it was because of Mimi. She is absolutely wonderful! She gave us so many recommendations of things to do, places to eat, and all of the hidden gems of the area! If we ever come back, we will definitely be renting from Mimi again!

Fantastic car for cruising around the island definitely a highlight of our trip! We loved taking the top off and soaking in the incredible scenery. The entire rental process was seamless, with the host delivering the car to our hotel freshly detailed and ready to go. If you’re visiting Kaua’i, I highly recommend renting this car to elevate your experience. 10/10!

For the price it did the job. Host was communicative before and after the trip, and we had no issues thankfully, so I cannot speak on their communication and problem solving in the event of an issue. Here are some things we noticed about the car we didn’t love: no tint on the windows so when we got in the car it was super hot (maybe a windshield visor would help), AC took a bit to cool down the car and was a little loud, volume could only be adjusted on the steering wheel and not on the radio but not a huge deal, Bluetooth failed connection a couple times but not the end of the world, headlight length/width was low. Main thing: windshield was very streaky (we cleaned it on the inside and outside but it seems it needs a really deep clean on the outside or new wipers) - whenever driving in direct sunlight or when headlights were approaching, visibility was little to none on multiple occasions which was scary. Going up Waimea Canyon it struggled a bit, but it is a sedan and not a mountain car after all. Again keeping in mind it was a less expensive option, it did the job. Car was impeccably clean upon arrival (minus those streaks on the windshield).
