This was hands down the best car rental experience I’ve ever had! The car was exceptionally clean and in excellent condition. The customer service was phenomenal, and she even provided snacks and drinks, which was such a thoughtful touch. Everything was smooth from start to finish. I highly recommend renting from her…you won’t be disappointed!
The car rental was great. I had no issues. The host was very responsive and nice. I will definitely rent again.
I had a very good experience with this car rental. The vehicle was exceptionally clean, both inside and out, which I highly appreciated. The rental agent was also incredibly attentive, polite, and helpful throughout the process. The only area for improvement would be the pickup and drop-off instructions; a bit more detailed information would have made finding and returning the car in the parking lot much smoother. Overall, a great service that I would recommend!

Great price, fun car, easy pick up and drop off, exterior was dirty but interior was clean. Only thing about the car is I wish that it had tint. Overall great experience again.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing host and an amazing vehicle! Everything was clean, reliable, and exactly as advertised. Communication was excellent, and the entire rental process was seamless. I highly recommend renting from them and will definitely book again!
I had an excellent experience renting this 2017 Nissan Altima. Everything about the trip went smoothly, and the vehicle was exactly what I needed. The owner was outstanding when it came to communication and was always quick to respond whenever I had questions, which made the entire process stress-free and enjoyable. With gas prices being higher these days, one thing I truly appreciated was the Altima’s great fuel mileage. It was perfect for my trip and helped me travel comfortably without constantly worrying about fuel costs. Overall, this was a great rental experience from start to finish, and I would definitely rent from this owner again. Highly recommended!

Great for the price, they were able to accommodate the late reservation. The host was great, very communicative and included snacks and water upon pick up. Thanks again, would recommend.

Great car and easy pickup. The only issue was the front right tire was low on air at pickup, so I had to fill it during my trip. Otherwise, everything was smooth and I enjoyed the rental.
I had a great experience renting this car! It was clean, drove smoothly, and was very spacious—more than enough room for my two suitcases. The pickup and drop-off instructions were clear and easy to follow, making the entire process stress-free. The owners were incredibly accommodating and responsive. My flight arrived an hour early, and they were kind enough to allow me to pick up the car ahead of schedule without any hassle. Anytime I had a question, they responded within seconds, which I truly appreciated. Thank you again, MZ, for making my trip that much easier. I would definitely rent from you again and highly recommend you to anyone looking for a reliable, hassle-free experience!

Great host. Very responsive. Great price point. I’ll be a repeat customer for sure.

Very clean well maintained vehicle Host very responsive and understanding Perfect price for the vehicle

Great! John is an amazing host and easy to work with! Was able to accommodate me for every need during my reservation.

I would definitely recommend renting from DeAnthony! Not only was his car an absolute joy to drive it was a great mix of sport luxury and his customer service was superb! Responded quick and car was clean full of gas and in great shape. It was conveniently picked up and drop off right from the airport garage. Highly recommend if you're coming to the Houston area to rent one of his vehicles! 5 star!

The car was absolutely amazing. I love renting from the company the are very help ask whatever questions I have. If I rent again it would be from them thank you!

Once you've grabbed your bags at baggage claim, head to the designated terminal garage for your terminal (A, B, C, D or E) or follow signs to the Ecopark rental car shuttle on level 1, which runs to the approved Turo lot on Kennedy Blvd. For in-person handoffs, you can meet at Terminal A's Ride App pickup zone at Door A-114. Check the Turo app for the exact location of your rental vehicle before you land.
The Turo app is your direct line to everything you need. Your host will share pick up details, return instructions and any extras through in-app messaging, so you can confirm timing and details before you touch down. Skip the hassle of traditional car rental companies and head straight for the right car, ready to explore downtown Houston, the Space Center and beyond.
IAH Airport charges a fee to allow Turo to deliver cars at Houston George Bush Intercontinental. Turo doesn't set this fee, mark it up or retain any portion of it. If your host requires you to cover visitor parking costs during your trip, this will be clearly stated on the rental vehicle listing so you know what to expect before you book.

Contactless check-in and checkout
Many hosts offer contactless check-in and checkout, if their car has remote access technology, allowing you to find the car, unlock it, and be on your way without meeting them in person. Message your host for specific instructions.

Convenient airport car rental pickup and return
Rather than hustling at the busy terminal curbside, take your time picking up the rental car at approved parking lots or garages. Check in, load up your luggage, and get comfortable with the car without a big rush.

Relax with support & damage protection
24/7 support and roadside assistance mean help is just a call away, plus you can choose from a range of protection plans.

Houston’s larger-than-life energy reflects the ambition of a city that helped send humans to the moon. It's a major hub for world-class museums, boundary-pushing food and green spaces that stretch along the bayou for miles. Pick up a rental car at Houston Airport and you can move between the towering oaks of Hermann Park, the neon buzz of downtown Houston and the coastal breeze of Galveston without missing a beat.
Rent the perfect car
The birthplace of human spaceflight sits about 30 miles southeast of the airport, and walking through the real Mission Control raises the hairs on your arms. Touch an actual moon rock, stand beneath the colossal Saturn V in Rocket Park and watch astronauts train in real time. Houston George Bush Intercontinental arrivals can follow signs toward I-45 South and be standing under the rocket within the hour.
Tucked beneath the live oak canopy of Hermann Park, the Houston Zoo pulls over two million visitors a year into a world of Galápagos tortoises, African forest gorillas and one of the best reptile houses in the country. The surrounding park adds paddle boats, a Japanese garden and shaded trails that beg you to stay. Your own car means you skip the blue and white buses and arrive when the animals are most active.
Nineteen museums packed into a two-mile stretch, from the soaring galleries of the Museum of Fine Arts to the hands-on wonder of the Houston Museum of Natural Science. The Houston Zoo anchors the district's southern edge, making it easy to pair art and animals in a single afternoon.
Houston stretches across more than 600 square miles of freeway, bayou and Texas-sized ambition. A few local pointers keep your rental car experience smooth from the moment you step off the plane at Houston George Bush Intercontinental to the moment you hand the keys back.
After landing at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), grab your bags at baggage claim and head to the ground transportation area on level 1. From there, board the shuttle bus to the approved Turo parking facility on Kennedy Blvd. Look for the white buses marked for the facility and let the driver know you're a Turo guest. You'll find the exact vehicle location in the Turo app before you land. For in-person handoffs, international passengers and domestic arrivals alike can meet at Terminal A's Ride App pickup zone at Door A-114 for a quick curbside exchange.
Returning your rental car at Houston Airport is just as straightforward. Drive back to the approved parking facility, follow signs to the designated return area, and park the vehicle. Pull a new parking ticket and leave it in the car with the keys, then lock up and message in the Turo app with the final location. The shuttle service runs back to the terminal so you can head straight to your gate.
George Bush Intercontinental Airport sits about 23 miles north of downtown Houston, roughly 25 to 30 minutes depending on traffic. The Hardy Toll Road is the quickest route in, while I-45 South is the most direct. Either way, having your own car means you pick up and go without waiting for an airport shuttle or navigating public transportation schedules.
Speed limits on Houston's city streets generally sit at 30 mph, rising to 60 to 70 mph on freeways and up to 75 mph on some stretches of I-10 heading west. Texas law requires all occupants to wear seatbelts, handheld phone use is restricted in school zones, and right turns on red are permitted unless posted otherwise. The city's freeway network is extensive, so follow signs carefully and stay in the right lane for your exit.
Houston's traffic is among the most intense in the country. The I-610 Loop, I-45, US-290 and the Katy Freeway (I-10 West) all build heavy congestion between 6:30 and 9:00 am and again from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. The interchange where I-45 meets I-610 is notoriously slow during rush hour. If you're heading to or from Houston Airport during peak times, budget an extra 20 to 30 minutes and consider the Hardy Toll Road as a faster alternative. Pickup trucks are everywhere on Houston roads, so keep your mirrors clear and give larger vehicles extra space.
Summer in Houston brings heat, humidity and afternoon thunderstorms that can flood low-lying underpasses in minutes. Flash flooding is a genuine hazard, and the local rule is simple: turn around, don't drown. Keep headlights on in the rain, avoid standing water on the road, and check Houston TranStar for real-time conditions before longer drives. The cheapest month to rent a car in Houston tends to fall in January or February, when visitor numbers dip and the weather is mild.
Downtown Houston has a strong network of parking garages, with ParkHouston managing meters and several multi-level structures across the city center. The Theater District Parking Garage and the Market Square Garage are popular choices near major attractions. Midtown and the Museum District also have garages and metered street parking, though spots can fill quickly during events.
Outside downtown, parking is generally easier. Shopping centers, restaurants and suburban attractions tend to have dedicated lots with plenty of room. If you rent a car through Turo, use the app to confirm any residential parking restrictions that may apply.
Houston has several tolled highways, including the Sam Houston Tollway (Beltway 8), the Hardy Toll Road, the Westpark Tollway, the Fort Bend Tollway and the Grand Parkway (SH 99). All are electronically tolled with no cash booths, so you'll need a toll pass or EZ TAG. Check the Turo app to see how tolls are handled for your vehicle.
Gas stations are everywhere in Houston. Shell, Chevron, Valero and Buc-ee's locations line every major highway, with clusters along I-45, I-10, US-290 and the feeder roads surrounding Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). You'll never struggle to find fuel in this city.
If you rent a car through Turo that runs on electricity, Houston's EV charging network is expanding fast. Tesla Superchargers sit at locations including the Galleria area, Katy Mills and near the Energy Corridor. Electrify America and ChargePoint stations are spread through shopping centers and hotel parking garages across the metro. For an electric luxury SUV or any EV, plan your stops using PlugShare before heading out, especially for longer drives outside the city.
Houston's public transportation covers some inner-city routes, but this is a city built for driving. The Johnson Space Center, Galveston's Gulf Coast beaches, the San Jacinto Battleground and the sprawling suburbs where some of the best barbecue and Tex-Mex joints hide are all well beyond the reach of the METRORail. Shuttles depart from George Bush Intercontinental to a handful of hotels, but beyond that you're on your own. Rent a car through Turo at Houston Airport and you control the schedule, the route and how far the adventure stretches. From the Museum District to Kemah Boardwalk to a weekend road trip across the Hill Country, your own wheels turn Houston from a stopover into a destination.
Houston's wide-open freeways, sprawling suburbs and Gulf Coast road trips call for a car that fits the scale of this city. Choose from the following vehicle classes on Turo, including, but not limited to:
- SUV rental: The most popular car class in Texas for good reason. A Chevy Tahoe or Toyota 4Runner handles the beach run to Galveston and Houston's freeway network with room to spare.
- Luxury car rental: Arrive at a River Oaks dinner or Galleria event in a full size luxury sedan like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, polished against Houston's glittering skyline.
- Performance sport car rental: A Ford Mustang GT or Dodge Challenger turns heads on Westheimer Road and sounds even better echoing through the downtown tunnels.
- Electric car rental: An electric luxury sedan like the Tesla Model S or an electric luxury SUV like the Model X makes the Energy Corridor commute seamless with HOV access and Superchargers across the metro.
- Truck rental: This is Texas. A Ford F-150 fits right in and handles everything from a Hill Country weekend to hauling gear. Full size cars and trucks dominate the road here.
- Van rental: Groups heading to NRG Stadium, brewery tours or airport transfers will appreciate the space of a van. Room for everyone, no second trips.
The cost of car rental in Houston can vary depending on car type, booking length, extras, and delivery. For cheap car rentals in Houston, look out for discounts on longer-duration bookings and early bookings.
