Fantastic host and an amazing vehicle! The car was exactly as described, reliable, and drove perfectly throughout my trip. The host was incredibly friendly, responsive, andaccommodating. They were kind enough to approve my extension request, which made the experience even better and took a lot of stress off my trip. Communication was excellent from start to finish. I would absolutely rent from them again and highly recommend both the host and the vehicle to anyone looking for a great Turo experience. Thanks again!

Picking up at ABE

Pickup & return areas at ABE

Turo pickups and returns are allowed in the Long Term Lot; ABE also permits in-person handoffs only at the two Turo-branded spaces in the Short Term Lot. For the Long Term Lot, check the Turo app for the row and stall, confirm with your host if needed, and use the ticket in the car to exit. For the Short Term Lot’s two Turo spaces, meet your host in person, keep the handoff brief, and never leave the vehicle unattended; exit and return using the lot ticket as directed in the app.

Communicate with your host

Book, confirm the lot and stall, photograph the car, and go. In the Turo app, your host will share where to find your car (Long Term vs the two Turo spaces in Short Term). Need to confirm any details? Use Turo's in-app messaging to get in touch with your host. On return, take checkout photos and send the exact stall via a quick message so it's easy for your host to find the car.

Parking & airport fees

ABE requires Turo to collect and remit an airport fee that allows delivery of a vehicle at ABE; Turo doesn’t set this fee, mark it up, or keep any portion. If your host asks you to cover a parking fee for lot entry/exit, they must disclose it in the vehicle listing.

Why rent a car at the airport on Turo?

" "

Contactless check-in and checkout

Many hosts offer contactless check-in and checkout, if their car has remote access technology, allowing you to find the car, unlock it, and be on your way without meeting them in person. Message your host for specific instructions.

" "

Convenient airport car rental pickup and return

Rather than hustling at the busy terminal curbside, take your time picking up the rental car at approved parking lots or garages. Check in, load up your luggage, and get comfortable with the car without a big rush.

" "

Relax with support & damage protection

24/7 support and roadside assistance mean help is just a call away, plus you can choose from a range of protection plans.

Work trips & longer stays

Dinner on Hamilton, a show at the arena, and a late drive through Bethlehem’s lights. Consider an EV like Tesla Model 3 for quiet glide or keep it classic with a Toyota Camry; either way, arriving and leaving on your own timeline is the real luxury.

Top tips for renting a car in Allentown

New airport, new patterns, same goal: get from ABE airport to your plans with minimal stress. This section explains how Allentown airport car rental works on Turo, where to park, and how to stick to your timeline when the IronPigs have a home game and everyone’s chasing the same spots.

How does airport pickup work at Lehigh Valley International Airport?

From baggage claim, follow airport signs to the Long Term Lot and check the app for your row and stall; your host can drop a pin if you’re not seeing it. Use the ticket left in the car to exit. If you’re meeting in person at the two Turo spaces in the Short Term Lot, arrive on time, keep the handoff brief, and never leave the vehicle unattended. Curbside pickup isn’t permitted at Lehigh Valley Intl Airport, so stick to these two approved airport locations for a clean handoff.

How does drop-off work at Lehigh Valley International Airport?

Return to the Long Term Lot, pull a ticket at the entrance, park legally, and leave the ticket inside the car. Send your host the section and stall in Turo's in-app messaging so retrieval is easy. If your return is in person at the Short Term Lot Turo spaces, meet your host at the agreed time and keep the vehicle attended until the handoff is complete.

How far is Lehigh Valley International Airport from Allentown?

Lehigh Valley International Airport is roughly 5–7 miles from the center of Allentown, often a 15–20 minute drive depending on lights and game nights. That short hop is why a car rental at Lehigh Valley International makes sense when you’re juggling meetings, the museum, and dinner reservations.

What are the road rules and driving conditions in Allentown?

City streets post 25–35 mph; arterials run faster, and rush hour causes backups near interchanges. Pennsylvania expects hands-free phone use — mount your phone before you move. Cars are the preferred mode of transportation here, so expect traffic congestion during peak hours. Plus, keep an eye out for extreme weather (such as heavy snow, thunderstorms and flooding).

What is parking like in Allentown?

Downtown garages serve the arena, ArtsWalk, and Hamilton Street; meters turn over quickly on weekdays. On busy nights, look one block off the main corridors for easier-to-find spaces. If you’re watching the budget, compare garages against meters.

Are there toll roads in Allentown?

You may encounter toll corridors on regional trips (e.g., the Turnpike). If you plan to pay tolls electronically, confirm your route and your toll options with your Turo host before you go. For short city hops, most routes are toll-free.

Where can I find gas stations and EV chargers in Allentown?

Fuel is plentiful along Airport Road, Union Boulevard, and the main approaches to downtown. EV chargers are popping up at newer garages, hotels, and shopping areas; Level 2 is common and fast charging options appear near major corridors. Top off your charge the evening before your return so you’re not charging on the clock.

Do I need to rent a car in Allentown?

If you’re staying downtown, you can fill a day on foot or with the occasional rideshare. But the Lehigh Valley really opens up when you can roam—Bethlehem for dinner, Easton for markets, Trexler for fresh air. Renting a car at Lehigh Valley International Airport gives you the flexibility to explore on your own schedule.

What rental car types can I find on Turo in Allentown?

You’ll see a wide variety of vehicle classes in Allentown: compact and midsize, hybrids, and EVs. Named favorites at ABE airport include Tesla Model 3 (quiet and quick), Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid (efficient), Toyota Camry (comfortable cruiser), and Nissan Altima (easy to park, easy to live with). Filter by the following vehicle classes in-app to match your mileage goals and budget.

How much does it cost to rent a car in Allentown?

The cost of car rental in Allentown can vary depending on car type, booking length, extras, and delivery. For cheap car rentals in Allentown, look out for discounts on longer-duration bookings and early bookings.

Can other people drive the car that I rented?

Yes, multiple guests can drive the car you rent on Turo, as long as they are all approved to drive. The primary driver (whoever rented the car) can add additional drivers with no fees or additional charges. Only the primary driver can request to add drivers; Turo hosts cannot do it for you. We encourage you to request to add additional drivers before your trip starts, though guests can request to add a driver while a trip is in progress.

To speed up the process, have your additional driver create a Turo account and get approved to drive before you request to add them. All drivers must have a valid driver’s license and meet the age requirements for the car you’ve booked. You can request to add drivers via the “Trips” tab in the Turo app without additional driver charges or extra costs.
