15 passenger van for the win. Danielle was great. Van performed well. It's a bumpy and bouncey ride but that's expected with all 15 passenger vans. The AC in the front does well. The back AC struggles to keep up. No Bluetooth or CD player so we strapped a JBL Partybox to the back seat. Back up camera helped with backing up. I'd definitely would rent this can again. It's such a great deal.

The van was perfect for our trip to Disney! When we picked it up the battery died from the previous renter but Danielle and her husband replaced it immediately and delivered the van to home well before it was time for us to leave. The van was great on gas and ran smoothly the entire trip. Will definitely rent again!

Frequently asked questions in Richmond

Why rent a van in Richmond?

Richmond offers excellent van rental opportunities for exploring Virginia's historic capital and surrounding regions. A van provides ample passenger space for families visiting attractions like the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts or venturing to nearby Washington D.C. The extra cargo capacity makes it ideal for extended stays in Richmond, allowing you to transport luggage, sports equipment, or shopping purchases with ease.

What should I expect when driving a van?

Rental vans in Richmond typically feature higher seating positions that provide better road visibility compared to standard cars. The vehicle will feel wider and longer than typical passenger cars, requiring more attention when changing lanes or navigating tight Virginia streets. Most vans offer responsive handling despite their size, making them suitable for both Richmond city driving and highway travel to locations like Washington airports.

How do I park a van in tight spaces?

When parking your rental van in Richmond's downtown areas, use your mirrors extensively and take your time maneuvering into spaces. Look for larger parking spots at shopping centers or near Richmond International Airport where space is more generous. Practice backing up in an empty lot before attempting parallel parking on busy Virginia streets, as the van's length requires different spatial awareness than regular cars.

Which van works best for families versus groups?

Passenger vans work excellently for large families exploring Richmond attractions, offering multiple rows of seating and individual climate controls. Ford Transit models are popular rental vans that accommodate both families and groups traveling between Richmond and Washington D.C. Consider cargo space needs when choosing — families with strollers and luggage may prefer vans with rear storage areas over maximum passenger seating configurations.

How can I stay comfortable on long van trips?

Plan regular stops when driving your Richmond rental van to destinations like Washington or other Virginia locations to stretch and move around. Adjust your seat position properly before departing, as vans offer different ergonomics than standard cars. Pack snacks and entertainment for passengers, especially when traveling with families, since the spacious van interior allows for more comfortable long-distance travel than cramped vehicles.

What safety features do vans offer?

Modern rental vans in Richmond typically include multiple airbags, stability control systems, and enhanced braking capabilities designed for larger vehicles. The higher driving position provides better visibility of traffic conditions on Virginia highways and around Richmond's busy intersections. Many vans feature backup cameras and parking sensors that help navigate tight spaces around Richmond International Airport or downtown parking areas safely.
