We rented a Mercedes van, it was clean and it amazing condition.
The car was spotless, normal wear as expected but the interior was flawless. Kingsley made the return process seamless and very, very easy.
Great vehicle, easy pickup and drop off. Will definitely use again if I’m in the area!!
Car was very clean. They were very prompt with the drop off and pick up! Reliable!
Pickup was easy, car ran great, and the host was understanding when we needed to extend our booking. Would book again!
Convenient location, easy pickup, and nice vehicle. Rode comfortably on our long 12 hour drive. Seats are flaking in the back (seat covers would be great to cover this) and very small luggage space. We had 8 passengers so we did use 2 seats to hold luggage and it worked great. Host is very responsive.

Raleigh offers fantastic starting points for scenic van trips through North Carolina's varied terrain. The Blue Ridge Parkway, accessible from the western part of the state, winds through breathtaking mountain vistas. Closer to Raleigh, the Eno River State Park provides a serene drive with opportunities to stop and explore nature trails. For coastal views, head east to the Outer Banks Scenic Byway, where your rental van can easily accommodate beach gear. The Piedmont region surrounding Raleigh boasts charming country roads perfect for leisurely drives. Remember to pack a cooler in your van for refreshments and plan stops at local markets to truly immerse yourself in North Carolina's culture.
Navigating a van through downtown Raleigh requires some strategy. Opt for larger parking spaces in public garages, which often have more room to maneuver. When parallel parking, use your van's side mirrors and take it slow. In bustling areas, be extra cautious of pedestrians and cyclists, especially around the State Capitol and Fayetteville Street. Consider using park-and-ride lots on the outskirts of downtown and taking public transport into the city center for a stress-free experience. When driving your rental van on narrower streets, take wide turns and be aware of your vehicle's height, particularly under low-hanging trees or in older parts of the city.
For family trips to Raleigh's attractions, consider spacious and comfortable van models. Minivans like the Chrysler Pacifica or Honda Odyssey offer ample seating and storage for family gear. These vans often feature sliding doors, making it easier to load and unload at places like the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences or Pullen Park. For larger families, full-size vans such as the Ford Transit or Mercedes-Benz Sprinter provide even more space. Look for models with rear entertainment systems to keep kids occupied on drives to the North Carolina Zoo in nearby Asheboro. Climate control and adjustable seating are key features for ensuring everyone's comfort while exploring Raleigh and its surrounding areas.
When selecting a van rental for exploring Raleigh and its environs, consider the size of your group and the amount of luggage you'll be carrying. Fuel efficiency is important for longer trips to places like the Durham Bulls Athletic Park or the Sarah P. Duke Gardens. Look for vans with good visibility and easy-to-use navigation systems to help you navigate new areas. If you plan on visiting the nearby state parks, consider a van with decent ground clearance. Comfort features like adjustable seats and climate control are essential for North Carolina's varying weather. Additionally, think about any specific needs, such as wheelchair accessibility or bike racks, depending on your planned activities in and around Raleigh.
Vans typically offer more space and comfort for group travel compared to SUVs when exploring Raleigh's attractions. With higher roofs and more flexible seating arrangements, rental vans provide better headroom and legroom, especially beneficial for longer drives to places like Jordan Lake or Falls Lake State Recreation Area. Vans often have sliding doors, making it easier to load and unload passengers and gear in tight parking spots, which can be an advantage when visiting busy areas like the North Carolina State Fairgrounds. While SUVs might offer better handling on varied terrain, most of Raleigh's points of interest are accessible via well-maintained roads where vans perform admirably. For larger groups, van rentals are generally more cost-effective and fuel-efficient per passenger than multiple SUVs.
Driving a rental van in Raleigh requires some adjustments compared to a regular car. Vans have a larger turning radius, so you'll need to take wider turns, especially in downtown areas near the State Capitol or Glenwood South. The increased height of a van means being more aware of low-hanging branches on tree-lined streets and height restrictions in parking garages. Braking distances are longer in vans, so maintain a safe following distance, particularly in busy areas like North Hills or Cameron Village. Wind can affect vans more than cars, so be prepared for this on open highways around Raleigh. Lastly, vans have larger blind spots, making it crucial to use your mirrors frequently and be extra cautious when changing lanes on multi-lane roads like the Beltline.
For a comfortable van rental journey from Raleigh to the Outer Banks, start by adjusting your seat and mirrors for optimal driving position. Bring plenty of pillows and blankets for passengers to create cozy spaces. Pack a cooler with refreshments and snacks to minimize stops. Plan regular breaks to stretch and switch drivers if possible, perhaps at scenic spots like Lake Mattamuskeet. Use your van's climate control to maintain a comfortable temperature throughout the trip. If your rental van has entertainment systems, prepare playlists or audiobooks to keep everyone engaged during the drive. Consider using window shades to reduce glare and heat. Lastly, organize your luggage efficiently in the van to maximize space and ensure easy access to essentials without major unpacking at rest stops.
Navigating height restrictions in Raleigh's urban areas with a rental van requires careful planning. Be aware of your van's exact height and always check for clearance signs, especially when approaching parking garages or older structures. Downtown Raleigh has several low-clearance areas, particularly around older buildings and some residential neighborhoods. When parking, opt for open-air lots or newer parking structures that can accommodate taller vehicles. If using GPS, choose settings for larger vehicles to avoid routes with low bridges or overpasses. Be extra cautious in areas like Glenwood South or near the universities where older infrastructure might pose challenges. When in doubt about a particular route or structure, it's best to find an alternative path to ensure the safety of your rental van and passengers.
