Ford Transit 2019

Ney is a wonderful host! Upon picking up her husband greeted me and let me know about the pictures to inspect the condition of the car when receiving. The 12 passenger Ford transit is exactly as pictured. They had just came from the car wash when meeting. The car is spacious and clean. We had a party of 10 with majority being children. The seating arrangement is convenient for allowing passengers to rotate seats at stops to allow stretching and personal space as there seats in the back are individually positioned. Ney is very professional and responsive. We highly recommend her as a host who is reliable and accommodating to her rental customers. We will definitely use her again!

Top tips for renting a van in El Paso

While vans share many similarities with regular cars, it's important to keep in mind their bigger size and limited mobility. When venturing under an overpass or into a tunnel, don't forget to keep your van's increased height in mind. Vans typically require longer braking distances, so you should leave more space between you and other cars. To lower your risk of running into any driving issues, have an idea of your route before you start your El Paso journey.

What is parking a van like in El Paso?

Parking your van rental in El Paso can be challenging, especially if you visit during the busy cooler months like spring and fall. Fortunately, you can find 24/7, van-friendly parking at the Mills Plaza Garage on North Oregon Street. In addition to security cameras and a helpful smart kiosk, they also boast reservable EV charging stations. The Convention Center Parking Garage is also open 24/7 and provides both uncovered and covered parking options. Most of El Paso's 1,700 metered parking spaces are downtown. If you manage to snag one of these coveted spaces, you can pay via cash or credit card.

How to choose the right type of van for your El Paso trip

A passenger van rental is the best option if you plan to travel with a large group of family or friends. You can count on these vans to have multiple rows of seats with ample leg room. Cargo vans provide more storage area, making them the better option when you're moving homes or transporting your belongings.

Loading a cargo van

When loading your cargo van rental, prioritize keeping your bulky, heavy boxes toward the bottom. This helps preserve your van's balance and prevents damage during your trip. Consider investing in ratchet straps or a cargo net for additional security. While you may be tempted to pack as much as you can into your rental, it's safer and more convenient to leave enough room to walk around in case you need to grab anything.

Gas stations and EV chargers in El Paso

EV charging stations can be found at the Walmart Supercenter on Sunland Park Drive and the Target on North Mesa Street. There are a few more charge points near the El Paso Museum of History on West Missouri Avenue. As for gas stations, you'll spot a Quick Mart, Chevron, and Circle K along East Paisano Drive. Whether you need a charging station or a gas station, don't forget to check your rental's fuel type. Many modern passenger and cargo vans require diesel.

When booking a car in the US, you’ll choose between three protection plans — Premier (eligibility requirements apply), Standard, or Minimum — to get the level of protection that’s right for you. On each trip, you’re covered with third-party automobile liability insurance provided under a policy issued to Turo by Travelers Excess and Surplus Lines Company.*

In New York state, you’ll also choose between Premier (if available), Standard, or Minimum. With each plan, you’re covered with liability insurance of $1,250,000.* Protection plans for New York trips also include access to roadside assistance, priority phone support, and 24/7 customer assistance.

Yes, multiple guests can drive the car you rent on Turo, as long as they are all approved to drive. The primary driver (whoever rented the car) can add additional drivers with no fees or additional charges. Only the primary driver can request to add drivers; Turo hosts cannot do it for you. We encourage you to request to add additional drivers before your trip starts, though guests can request to add a driver while a trip is in progress.

To speed up the process, have your additional driver create a Turo account and get approved to drive before you request to add them. All drivers must have a valid driver’s license and meet the age requirements for the car you’ve booked. You can request to add drivers via the “Trips” tab in the Turo app without additional driver charges or extra costs.

Cargo vans boast a large, temperature-controlled storage area ideal for holding boxes, furniture, and more. For the average driver, a cargo van is often easier to maneuver and drive than a full-sized box truck.
