Discovering Rhode Island's coastal treasures and historic landmarks from T.F. Green Airport

Rhode Island may be the smallest state, but it packs incredible diversity into its compact borders. From T.F. Green Airport, you can easily reach Providence's vibrant downtown, Newport's opulent Gilded Age estates, and Warwick's beautiful waterfront areas. The state's scenic coastal highways offer breathtaking ocean views, while charming villages like Wickford and Watch Hill provide quintessential New England experiences. A rental car gives you the freedom to explore remote beaches, carry outdoor gear for sailing adventures, and navigate both urban streets and rural backroads with confidence and comfort throughout your Rhode Island journey.

Newport's legendary mansion district and Cliff Walk

Newport stands as America's premier destination for Gilded Age grandeur, where spectacular mansions like The Breakers and Marble House showcase unparalleled opulence. The famous Cliff Walk combines natural beauty with architectural marvels, offering stunning ocean vistas alongside these historic estates. Driving through Newport's tree-lined streets in your rental car provides an elevated perspective of the magnificent properties and allows comfortable navigation through the sometimes narrow historic district roads. Ample parking is available near most attractions, and the spacious interior ensures you'll arrive refreshed and ready to explore these incredible testaments to America's golden age of prosperity.

Narragansett's pristine beaches and coastal charm

Narragansett offers some of New England's most beautiful beaches, from the popular State Beach to the more secluded Scarborough Beach. The area combines excellent surfing conditions with family-friendly swimming spots and charming beachside communities. Your rental car provides the perfect vehicle for beach adventures, offering plenty of space for coolers, umbrellas, and water sports equipment while ensuring you can easily navigate the sometimes sandy parking areas near the shore. The coastal drive along Ocean Road showcases spectacular Atlantic views and leads to hidden coves perfect for peaceful afternoon exploration.

Providence's Federal Hill and culinary scene

Providence's Federal Hill neighborhood represents one of America's most authentic Italian-American communities, where family-owned restaurants and specialty shops have operated for generations. The area buzzes with incredible aromas from traditional bakeries, imported cheese shops, and renowned restaurants serving both classic and innovative cuisine. Exploring Providence in a rental car means you can comfortably navigate the city's sometimes challenging parking situations while having space to transport culinary treasures back to your accommodation. The elevated seating position also provides better visibility when navigating Providence's historic streets, which often feature unique layouts dating back centuries to the colonial era.

Block Island's ferry adventure and island exploration

Block Island, accessible via ferry from Point Judith, offers a perfect day trip destination with dramatic bluffs, pristine beaches, and Victorian charm. The island features excellent hiking trails, historic lighthouses, and some of the clearest waters in New England. While you'll leave your vehicle on the mainland, having a rental car for the drive to Point Judith ensures comfortable transportation for your group and all the gear needed for a full day of island exploration, from picnic supplies to beach equipment and cameras for capturing the spectacular coastal scenery.

Warwick's scenic waterfront and Goddard Memorial State Park

Warwick combines suburban convenience with outstanding natural beauty, particularly at Goddard Memorial State Park, which features over 400 acres of forests, fields, and Narragansett Bay coastline. The park offers excellent hiking trails, picnic areas, and one of the region's most beautiful beaches for swimming and sunbathing. Your rental car provides ideal transportation for family outings, with ample space for picnic supplies, outdoor games, and beach gear. The park's well-maintained roads and parking areas accommodate larger vehicles easily, while the surrounding Warwick area offers additional attractions including historic villages, waterfront dining, and scenic drives along the bay's numerous inlets and coves.
