Most excellent. Highly recommend Lux. Perfect customer service. Perfect car for our family of four. We left the car as clean as we could, but two kids and sand are hard to remove. We shook out the mats and brushed the seats as best as we could. Thank you Kaitlin and Chris - above and beyond accommodation

The car itself was beautiful, a smooth drive, and pretty new. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. I would use them again. We did have a lot of tech issues with the Bluetooth connecting, even after we bought a cord to connect with apple/android auto. The hosts offered for us to bring it in, so they can see if it was something they could fix. Overall, excellent trip, and would highly recommend.

Frequently asked questions in Westbrook

Why choose an SUV for exploring Maine's wilderness areas?

Rental SUVs provide elevated seating positions that offer superior visibility for spotting wildlife and scenic vistas throughout Maine's dense forests and mountainous terrain. Higher ground clearance helps navigate unpaved forest roads and seasonal conditions common in Maine's backcountry regions.

How do you handle an SUV on Westbrook's varied terrain?

What makes SUVs ideal for Maine's winter driving conditions?

Rental SUVs offer enhanced traction control and weight distribution that performs well on Maine's snow-covered roads between Westbrook and Portland. The higher stance reduces snow accumulation around wheel wells while providing better visibility over snow banks common in South Portland and surrounding areas. Advanced safety features like electronic stability control help maintain control during Maine's unpredictable winter weather patterns.

Which scenic routes from Westbrook are perfect for SUV adventures?

Routes leading inland from Westbrook showcase Maine's pristine lakes and forests, with SUV rental providing comfortable access to scenic overlooks and nature areas. The journey between Westbrook and Portland airport passes through diverse landscapes perfect for SUV exploration and photography opportunities.

Are compact or full-size SUVs better for family trips in Maine?

Full-size rental SUVs excel for families visiting Maine, offering three rows of seating and ample storage for luggage, sports equipment, and souvenirs from Portland and Westbrook adventures. Compact rental SUVs work well for smaller families prioritizing fuel efficiency while still providing cargo space for day trips around Maine. Consider your group size and planned activities when selecting SUV rentals for exploring the Portland area and beyond.

What SUV safety features matter most for New England driving?

All-wheel drive systems provide crucial traction on Maine's varied road surfaces, especially during transitions between seasons common in the Westbrook and Portland regions. Advanced braking systems help maintain control on steep grades and during sudden weather changes typical of New England. Lane departure warnings and blind spot monitoring enhance safety when navigating Maine's winding coastal roads and busy routes near Portland airport.
