Newport Beach, a coastal gem in Southern California, offers a perfect blend of sun-soaked beaches, luxury shopping, and scenic beauty. With its Mediterranean climate and stunning Pacific coastline, this upscale destination is ideal for cruising in a convertible car. Renting a convertible allows you to fully immerse yourself in the laid-back yet sophisticated atmosphere, whether you're driving along the picturesque Pacific Coast Highway or exploring the charming Balboa Island.

I had a great rental experience! Pickup and drop-off instructions were very straightforward! The car itself was in excellent condition - clean, no odors, and didn't feel like it was in need of a tuneup like cars from the larger rental companies. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the Jeep handled, especially on the highway. Next time I'm in need of a rental, I'll be looking for this car.

Pickup was seamless and the drop-off process at the garage was just as easy. The car was very clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described. I thoroughly enjoyed driving it throughout the trip. The highlight was definitely the convertible top; it made cruising around and enjoying the California sunshine even more memorable. Overall, a great experience, and I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a fun and enjoyable ride. Niko was also a fantastic host; very responsive, friendly, helpful, and easy to communicate with throughout the entire rental process.

Communicating with the Sam was easy and effortless. Great price and car.

Car was perfect for our trip. Price was great and got good gas mileage. Only used one full tank of gas for our trip and drove over 300 miles. Giving 5 stars because it was still a Camaro convertible for a good price. However, the car is showing several signs of wear and tear and car could have been cleaned better. Empty cigarette packs on the floor, sand in the cup holders etc. Price still outweighed these small details so wouldn’t hesitate to rent again. Thank you!

This was the most fun car I have ever rented and it will be my first choice next time I visit. The convertible top is easy to operate, the AC is good and pickup was flawless. Thank you!

This beautiful car made my trip! It was my first time driving a Mercedes, well now I’ll have to buy one. Great car, super clean, and drives smoothly!

This car was so fun! She’s so cute we called her Dolly. Loved the convertible and interior and the car in total.

Great car! Lots of fun with the convertible top. Nathan was easy to work with!

Great host! Thanks again for a smooth rental! Look forward to renting again soon!

Great vehicle. Fun to drive. Easy pickup drop off. Highly recommended for a fun trip

Amazing car, my first time driving convertible and it’s the most fun I’ve had in a while with a car. The host was tentative and everything went smoothly.
Amazing I wish I had this car in the Daley. It was an excellent addition to the trip.

Car itself was in good condition and we had no issues throughout our trip. Nadiia was nice and responsive. She was clear and helpful with instructions of pick up and drop off. Only minor issue was that the ad had stated the car would have Apple CarPlay. When we asked Nadiia she said it should have it but she didn’t know how to make it work. We also could not figure it out so we were limited to Bluetooth. Overall it was a great experience!

Good with communication, nice to help understand how the top comes off. He helped make trip enjoyable.

Cruise through Corona del Mar, enjoying the picturesque coastline and charming village atmosphere. For a longer journey, head south to Laguna Beach, where you can wind through the hills and catch glimpses of hidden coves. When packing for a convertible trip in Newport Beach, efficient use of trunk space is crucial. Opt for soft-sided luggage or duffel bags that can be easily molded to fit the contours of the trunk. Use packing cubes or compression bags to organize and condense clothing. Consider leaving bulky items like beach umbrellas at home and renting them locally instead. Pack versatile clothing that can be mixed and matched to reduce the number of outfits needed. Utilize the space behind the seats for smaller items or day bags. Remember, convertibles often have limited trunk space, so prioritize essentials and embrace the minimalist beach lifestyle Newport is known for.
When driving a convertible rental in Newport Beach, weather considerations are key to enjoying your experience. The area boasts a Mediterranean climate with plenty of sunshine, making it ideal for top-down driving. However, be prepared for occasional marine layer fog, especially in the mornings. Always have sunglasses and sunscreen handy to protect against UV rays. In the cooler months, pack a light jacket or sweater for evening drives when temperatures can drop. Keep an eye on the forecast for rare rainy days, and be ready to raise the top quickly if needed. The convertible rental experience in Newport Beach can be delightful year-round with proper preparation.
Driving a convertible rental in Newport Beach's urban areas presents some unique considerations. The city's popularity means traffic can be heavy, especially during peak tourist seasons and rush hours. Be mindful of your surroundings, as the open-top design may make you more vulnerable to noise and exhaust fumes in congested areas. Parking can be challenging, so look for covered options to protect your vehicle when the top is down. The coastal breeze can be stronger than expected, so secure any loose items in the car. Additionally, be prepared for occasional curious onlookers admiring your luxury convertible rental at stoplights or in parking lots.
When parking your convertible rental in Newport Beach, safety is paramount. Whenever possible, opt for covered parking structures to protect the vehicle from sun damage and potential theft. If street parking is necessary, choose well-lit areas and, if available, spots with security cameras nearby. Always raise and secure the top when leaving the car unattended, even for short periods. Remove all valuables from sight, including any items in the trunk. Consider using a steering wheel lock or alarm system for added security. In beach areas, be mindful of sand and salt air exposure, which can damage the car's finish and mechanisms. Whenever feasible, park facing away from the ocean to minimize salt spray on the windshield.
Protecting yourself from sun exposure during long convertible rental drives along the California coast is essential. Apply a high-SPF, broad-spectrum sunscreen to all exposed skin, including often-forgotten areas like the back of your neck and ears. Wear a wide-brimmed hat to shield your face and neck, and opt for UV-blocking sunglasses to protect your eyes. Consider wearing light, long-sleeved clothing made from breathable, UV-resistant fabrics. Use the car's sun visors and consider adding a windscreen to reduce wind and sun exposure. Stay hydrated by keeping water bottles easily accessible. Take regular breaks in shaded areas to avoid prolonged sun exposure and reapply sunscreen as needed, especially after swimming or sweating.
When selecting a convertible rental for your Newport Beach trip, consider several key factors. Assess the vehicle's size to ensure it comfortably accommodates all passengers and luggage. Look for models with good fuel efficiency, as you may be driving along scenic routes. Consider the ease of operating the convertible top — some luxury models offer automatic mechanisms for added convenience. Evaluate the car's performance capabilities, especially if you plan on cruising along winding coastal roads. Climate control features are important for comfort during top-down driving. Additionally, think about the style and color that best suits your preferences — after all, your convertible rental will be part of your Newport Beach experience and vacation photos.
Capturing great photos during your convertible rental ride in Newport Beach can create lasting memories. Utilize the golden hours — just after sunrise or before sunset — for the best lighting along the coast. When safe, pull over at scenic viewpoints along Pacific Coast Highway for unobstructed ocean vistas. Experiment with different angles, including shots from the back seat or standing outside the car. Use a wide-angle lens or panorama mode to capture the expansive coastal landscapes. For action shots, have a passenger take photos while you're driving (always prioritize safety). Don't forget to capture details like the convertible's interior or the wind in your hair. Lastly, include local landmarks like the Newport Pier or Balboa Island Ferry in your shots for a true Newport Beach flavor.
