Clean car, very considerate for providing car scent, and quick to accept a last minute reservation. Best communicator.
Thankful we were able to book this last minute after hours of having issues with our previous car rental place, we were even able to pick up a bit earlier which helped us make it to our event that night! Car was great and was very good on gas overall good communication and customer service upon arrival!
Great car. And good service. Thank u. Will return back when I need to rent a car from them.
The car worked perfectly for our trip.. the host were very responsive... communication was everything. Truly enjoyed our stay in La thanks to their smooth car rental process
Easy enough process. Great price. If you take the 40bus to pick up the car, make sure get off at the stop before MLK. Otherwise, you’ll be walking quite awhile. Which is okay. But I was carrying a ton of stuff from work
Very enjoyable and smooth renting from Moon Rentals, great customer service and price was durable. Thank you so much for your service will rent again!!!
* Hands Down The #1 Best Turo Renter you could hope for. I've rented from around 6 or so people and for months at a time from some. Kristian is f#$&ing awesome. Its hard to explain all the reasons why in a review but for many reasons I hold him in such high regard. Off the bat he is professional, top notch communication, and along the way of a long term rental he was solid and a good human to work with. And btw, this is a totally real review. I never knew him before I rented from him. If anyone is trying to choose a car and reading reviews is part of your decision making, choose Kristian and his vehicles any time you can. I truly can't say it enough how great renting from him was. The car ran great the whole time as well. I am truly thankful to him and I cannot recommend enough how he is the best you could get for someone to rent a car on Turo from.
Josh was on time with drop-off and very accommodating with my request. I had a great time with the F-Type. I’m motivated to buy one myself too someday!
Great host and a smooth experience all around. Super communicative, flexible, and accommodating throughout the trip, which I really appreciated. The car got me where I needed to go and the whole rental process was easy. Would definitely book with him again! 5/5.
Great experience renting this car! The car was clean, reliable, and exactly as described. The host was friendly, helpful, and easy to communicate with throughout the trip. Everything went smoothly, and I would definitely rent from them again!
This guy was so cool, the car was crazy too and for my next trip, there's a good chance i'll rent this car again.
I had a fantastic experience renting this 2016 Audi A3 through Turo! The car was sporty, fun to drive, and an absolute pleasure to take out on the road. It had a great feel behind the wheel and made the entire driving experience enjoyable. The host was also amazing! They checked in with me daily to make sure everything was going well and to see if I needed anything. That level of communication and customer service really made a difference and made me feel well taken care of throughout my rental. I would definitely recommend both this car and the host to anyone looking for a fun, sporty, and hassle-free rental experience. I would happily rent from this host again!
Excellent car and a really fun trip. Would happily rent from this business again!
This car was a great trip, smooth ride, very friendly owner. No issues, would definitely rent again!
Thank you for everything. The car was very comfortable and easy to drive, which made the trip much more enjoyable. I also appreciated how smooth and stress-free the whole rental process was. I would gladly rent from you again in the future.

Griffith Observatory

Top tips for renting a car near the Hollywood Sign
Road rules and driving conditions
The roads climbing into the Hollywood Hills are narrow and winding, so take them slowly. The route up to Griffith Observatory narrows to a single lane in spots. Congestion peaks on evenings, weekends, and through the summer, so plan your timing around the crowds.
Parking
Griffith Observatory has pay-and-display lots that take credit cards only, so come prepared. Free parking at the Greek Theatre works well, though it comes with an uphill walk. Residential parking around Beachwood and Lake Hollywood is heavily restricted — park near the Innsdale Trail or the Lake Hollywood Estates area and walk in.
Toll roads
Good news: the LA freeways near the Sign are free to use. You won't need to budget for tolls on a typical Hollywood Hills trip. If your wider plans touch a toll route, check the details before you go.
Gas stations and EV chargers
Fuel up in Hollywood or Los Feliz before you head into the hills, where stations thin out. Chargers are common across Los Angeles if you're driving electric. An electric vehicle rental keeps your miles efficient around the city.
Do I need to rent a car near the Hollywood Sign?
You don't strictly need one. The DASH Observatory/Los Feliz bus and rideshare both reach the main viewpoints. Still, a car is the easiest way to link the Sign, Griffith Observatory, and the wider LA area on your own schedule.
Frequently asked questions
What documents and paperwork do I need to rent a car near the Hollywood Sign?
You'll need a valid driver's license and a Turo account in good standing. Book through the Turo app or website, add any details requested, and you're set. Bring the same license you booked with when you pick up your car.
What kind of license do I need to rent a car?
A valid driver's license is required to book. Guests visiting from outside the US can generally drive with a license from their home country. An international driving permit helps if your license isn't printed in English.
What are the age requirements to rent a car?
Most guests need to be at least 18 to book, though requirements can vary. Younger guests may see different eligibility or pricing depending on the car. Check the listing and booking details for the exact terms.
How does insurance work when renting a car on Turo?
Protection plans are available to choose from when you book your trip on Turo. You can review the options during checkout and pick what fits your needs. For the specifics, look over the plan details before you confirm.
Are discounts available?
Yes, savings show up in a few ways. Many cars offer lower daily rates for weekly and monthly bookings, so longer trips often cost less per day. Watch the listings for the best rates for your dates.
Is long-term car rental available near the Hollywood Sign?
Yes. Plenty of cars near the Hollywood Sign are available for extended bookings, ideal for long visits or filming stretches. Look for weekly and monthly rates to bring down the daily cost.
Is unlimited mileage rental available?

Can other people drive the car?
Yes, you can add another approved driver to your trip. Make the change in the Turo app so the extra driver is covered before you set off. Each added driver needs to meet the same eligibility requirements.
How much does it cost to rent a car near the Hollywood Sign?
Prices vary by car, dates, and how long you book. Everyday sedans sit at the lower end, while luxury and specialty cars cost more. Compare listings for your travel dates to find a rate that works for you.
What rental car types are available?
You'll find a wide range of cars on Turo to match your trip:
SUV rental — roomy for families and gear.
Minivan rental — space for groups heading to the parks.

Any personal insurance you may have that covers damage to the host’s vehicle would kick in before your protection plan, except in limited situations for trips booked in Maryland, but this protects your own wallet. In the US, liability insurance is provided under a policy issued to Turo by Travelers Excess and Surplus Lines Company. Terms, conditions, and exclusions apply. The policy does not provide coverage for damage to a host’s vehicle.
