Hanover sits in the heart of south-central Pennsylvania, where rolling farmland meets historic charm and small-town hospitality thrives. You'll discover Civil War battlefields, covered bridges, and scenic countryside that stretches toward the Maryland border. A car rental unlocks the freedom to explore Gettysburg's famous battlefield, meander through Amish country, and venture into the surrounding agricultural valleys at your own pace. The region's attractions spread across rural roads and historic townships that public transportation simply can't reach. Your rental car becomes the key to experiencing Pennsylvania's rich heritage and natural beauty beyond the main thoroughfares.
Car was great second time I have rented the Malibu there was a little Hiccup at the pick up time of the car but Lauren was quicker to get it sorted out will continue to rent from then when the need arises!

For my first time renting a car like this it was a good little car. Hate being in the situation where I need to rent a car but this is definitely convenient especially with my income.

Great trip as always ! Always understands when I need to extend. I love this car so much, wish it was mine! Thank Lauren !

Hanover offers visitors access to some of Pennsylvania's most significant historical sites and scenic rural landscapes perfect for car-based exploration. You can drive to the world-famous Gettysburg National Military Park, explore the charming covered bridges of Adams County, and discover local farms offering seasonal produce and handmade goods. Your rental car provides the flexibility to visit multiple attractions in a single day, from historic downtown squares to countryside antique shops. The region features three distinct experiences: Civil War history, agricultural tourism, and small-town Pennsylvania culture that spans several townships.
This world-renowned Civil War battlefield preserves the site of the pivotal 1863 battle that changed American history. You'll find ample parking at the visitor center, and your car allows you to follow the scenic battlefield tour route at your leisure. The park features multiple driving routes that connect key monuments, memorials, and historic sites across the expansive battlefield terrain.
This expansive state park surrounds Lake Marburg and offers hiking trails, fishing opportunities, and picnic areas perfect for family outings. Your car provides easy access to multiple park entrances and trailheads scattered around the lake's perimeter. The park's boat launch and swimming areas require car access, as they're located away from any public transportation routes.
York's colonial-era downtown features museums, galleries, and the historic Central Market that dates back to the 1700s. You can park in downtown lots and explore the walkable historic district on foot. Your rental car makes it convenient to combine a York visit with other regional attractions like the Harley-Davidson Museum or nearby covered bridges.

Check weather conditions beforehand, as Pennsylvania seasons can bring varying driving conditions that may affect your travel plans.
Familiarize yourself with Pennsylvania's right-turn-on-red laws and school zone regulations, which are strictly enforced throughout Hanover and neighboring communities. Keep your rental car's headlights on during daylight hours when required, and maintain awareness of seasonal hunting areas where increased wildlife activity may occur. Local traffic patterns in small Pennsylvania towns often differ from urban areas, so allow extra time when navigating through historic districts and rural communities.
