This is my second experience with Turo. It was very simple to get to the car. Because they asked, we took photos of any potential blemishes associated with the car, which is really a benefit to me so we don’t have any issues with regards to who did what. The cars are always clean and the price to rent is so much more affordable than the ridiculous prices that the big Rental Car places charge. From this point on, I will always check with Turo before anyone else because of their Customer service, affordability, and Quality!

Book this vehicle, you will not regret it! Great vehicle and great host! As a first-time Turo user, I was a tad nervous about how everything would work, including EV charging, pick-up/drop-off, and all the vehicle tech. Everything ended up being super simple, both with the rental process and the vehicle itself. The host's directions were clear, so I never had any questions or issues. Great experience and I would absolutely book again.

Phenomenal experience from beginning to end. The host was responsive, communicative, and made every part of the rental process seamless. They answered questions promptly, were accommodating with coordinating the airport drop-off, and genuinely cared about making sure everything went smoothly. The Lexus was exactly as described—clean, well-maintained, and an absolute pleasure to drive. It was comfortable, quiet, surprisingly fuel-efficient, and handled beautifully throughout the trip. Spending a few days with it honestly convinced me that this is a vehicle I’d love to own someday. If you’re considering booking this car, don’t hesitate. You’ll get a fantastic vehicle and a host who is professional, trustworthy, and easy to work with. I would absolutely rent from them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a premium Turo experience.

Car did what I needed it for, got me from A to B with no problems. Mo was informative and timely, making pickup and dropoff a breeze. Plan to pickup within a half-mile of the posted address—Mo gives another nearby address ahead of time based on last dropoff, so just plan based on that one. Watch that gas mileage, it’s a guzzler on city roads but good highway.

Had such a great experience! The car was spotless, super comfortable, and in excellent condition — honestly even better than expected. Everything was exactly as described, and the whole process from pickup to drop-off was incredibly smooth and stress-free. Hector was friendly, responsive, and made sure everything was easy from start to finish. I really appreciated how well maintained the car was and how seamless the entire rental experience felt. I would absolutely rent from them again and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable car and a great host!

Car was clean, drove perfect, great on gas, and got the job done! Let me tell you about Dmytro… this is the best host I’ve worked with. Great communication and excellent customer service. Trip extensions were super smooth no problems! I had something come up last minute and I needed the car for an extra day but it was already booked by another customer. Dmytro worked some magic so I could extend the car for one extra day. Top Tier Host for sure! Will do business again!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Excellent! To use 1 word to describe the experience- it will be “ Excellent “. Omar the host went above and beyond for me. First delivering me the car at the airport was a huge plus, then my flight changed meaning I’d have a few more hours in DC after- AFTER checking out of the hotel. This host, Omar, extended my Return for 2 hours so I wouldn’t be stuck in the airport for 6 hours. As I was telling the good young Brother whom delivered the car, I just becamea Turo host in Arizona. 2025 Elantra. Hadn’t booked my first trip yet, however, I know how I’m going to treat my clients- better than the best experiences I’ve had as a client. I’ve had some bad, very bad- horrible- Turo experiences. I know when I feel appreciated as a client. I appreciate that appreciation, right back and this experience has been magnificent. Thank you, Brother. If you’re ever in need of Turo in Arizona. Message me.

Five stars for this Prius. Pickup was smooth and the car was clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described in the listing. On the road it handled better than I expected — steady and composed on the highway, easy to maneuver in tight parking, and quiet enough that longer drives never felt tiring. The fuel economy was the real standout. I averaged 51 mpg over the course of the rental, which meant far fewer stops than I’d budgeted for and a noticeably cheaper trip overall.

The vehicle drives well. I am grateful for the host’s accommodating nature. Notably, I was required to extend my stay by an additional day, and the host graciously reduced the price by a small margin for this extra day.

Who is monthly car rental in Washington, DC for?

Just relocated to Washington, DC

You landed a new role at an agency, a consulting firm, or on the Hill, and you moved to DC before you figured out the rest. You're still learning which neighborhoods fit your commute, whether you'll be driving into Virginia, Maryland, or both, and what daily life actually looks like here. Renting a car for a month on Turo gives you time to settle in before committing to a purchase you might regret.

Lease just ended — or just sold your car

You're between cars in a city where monthly garage parking alone can cost hundreds of dollars. Ownership costs pile up fast in DC, and jumping into another purchase right away rarely makes financial sense. A monthly rental bridges the gap while you take your time deciding what comes next — or whether you even need to own at all.

Extended work assignment or traveling professional

Consulting rotations, military assignments near the Pentagon, NGO project work, or traveling nurses at DC-area hospitals — plenty of professionals land in Washington, DC for defined stretches of 10 weeks, three months, or longer. For stays at that length, a monthly rental is far more competitive than daily rates, and you're not stuck with a lease when the assignment ends.

Post-college or first car

Georgetown, GW, Howard, and American University graduates enter the DC workforce every year, many on tight budgets and with no idea whether they'll stay in the district long-term. A monthly rental gives you reliable transportation without a car loan, and if you land a job in another city six months later, you're not stuck trying to sell a car you just bought.

Pickup locations for monthly car rental in Washington, DC

Purple squiggle

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)

If you're flying into Washington, DC for an extended stay, you can arrange car delivery near DCA through the Turo app. Cars are delivered to permitted parking locations at the airport, so you can pick up your rental shortly after landing and start your month without hunting for a rental counter. DCA is just minutes from downtown DC, making it a convenient starting point for longer stays.

Capitol Hill and Navy Yard

Capitol Hill and the Navy Yard corridor sit in the heart of SE Washington, DC, one of the city's densest residential areas. Government workers, young professionals, and Hill staffers who live here often need a car for commuting across DC or into Virginia and Maryland. Booking a long-term car rental from this area means your car is already close to home, cutting out extra trips to a pickup depot.

Arlington

Just across the Potomac from DC, Arlington is home to the Pentagon, Rosslyn, Crystal City, and Ballston — all major employment hubs that draw monthly renters from across the region. If you work in Arlington but live in DC (or the reverse), having a car for the cross-river commute makes daily life significantly easier. Arlington is also close to DCA, giving you convenient access if your plans involve regular travel.

Top tips for monthly car rental in Washington, DC

Before you book an extended car rental in Washington, DC, a few local details are worth knowing — from parking strategy to toll road pricing.

Finding the best deal

Use the duration filter in the Turo app to search specifically for 30+ day trips, where you'll see the deepest discounts. Many listings also offer reduced rates for seven-day and 14-day bookings. Browse by price range, compare a few options, and book in advance when you can — popular, affordable cars get snapped up quickly, especially in high-demand months.

How to pick a car

For daily commuting and errands in the DC area, prioritize fuel efficiency and comfort over flashiness. Compact SUVs and reliable sedans from Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, and Kia tend to offer the best balance of value and everyday practicality. Think about what you'll actually use the car for most days — grocery runs, a commute, weekend trips — and pick accordingly.

Road rules and conditions in Washington, DC

Rush hour in DC runs roughly 3 to 6 PM, with Friday afternoons (4 to 6 PM) being the worst. Cross-river commutes between DC, Virginia, and Maryland create the biggest slowdowns. Speed cameras are common throughout the district, and they're active around the clock — not just during rush hour. Plan your schedule around peak traffic when you can.

Parking in Washington, DC

Monthly garage parking in DC can run several hundred dollars per month, so factor that into your budget if you'll be parking downtown regularly. Residential areas use a Zone Parking permit system, and many neighborhoods require permits for on-street parking during weekday hours. One bright spot: metered parking is free on Sundays throughout the district.

Toll roads in Washington, DC

The DC metro area has several express-lane toll roads that use dynamic pricing during rush hours. I-66 Express Lanes, the Capital Beltway I-495 Express Lanes, and the 395 Express Lanes all adjust pricing based on real-time traffic, so tolls can spike significantly during peak commute times. Check pricing before you merge into the express lanes, and factor toll costs into your commuting budget.

Gas and EV charging in Washington, DC

Gas stations are available throughout the DC metro area, so finding fuel is straightforward no matter which part of the city or suburbs you're driving through. If you're renting an electric vehicle, the charging network across DC and the Virginia and Maryland suburbs is growing steadily, with stations from multiple providers available in most neighborhoods.

Types of cars available in Washington, DC

You'll find practical, everyday vehicles across Washington, DC on Turo — reliable sedans, fuel-efficient compacts, and family-friendly SUVs that fit a monthly budget. Popular makes include Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, and Kia. Whether you need something small for city parking or an SUV for weekend trips with the family, there's a wide range of options across price points.

Picking a monthly car rental in Washington, DC that fits your budget

Whether you want to rent a car for a month in Washington, DC or stay for several months, rentals on Turo get cheaper the longer you book. Trips of 30 days or more unlock the deepest discounts, and many listings also offer reduced rates for seven-day and 14-day bookings. About 60% of available monthly supply in Washington, DC is priced under $800 per month, with a median around $1,300 per month. You'll see the total price before you book — no hidden fees, no surprise charges at the end.

Can other people drive the car I rented in Washington, DC?

The primary guest on the reservation is the authorized driver. If you need someone else to drive during your monthly rental in Washington, DC, you can add an Additional Driver through the Turo app. All additional drivers must meet Turo's eligibility requirements.

Is monthly car rental on Turo cheaper than leasing a car?

For stays of one to three months, renting on Turo often works out significantly cheaper than a traditional lease when you factor in the full picture. A lease typically requires a down payment, monthly payments, separate coverage, and maintenance costs — plus you're locked in for years and eating depreciation from day one. Turo's monthly pricing is transparent and all-in, with no down payment, no credit check, and no long-term commitment. For shorter-term needs, the math tends to favor renting.
