Trip was great, car is great on gas! Did have low tire pressure upon drop off at my Airbnb, which turned out to be a leak. But Dennis was great and called AAA to come get it all fixed :) Would definitely use his services again!

I had an amazing experience renting this 2015 BMW 320i for a week. The host was fantastic — communication was clear, fast, and very professional from the start. He even called ahead of time to walk us through the pickup process without us having to ask, which made everything super smooth. The car itself was immaculate and clearly very well cared for. It ran beautifully the entire trip and was an absolute pleasure to drive. It also turned a lot of heads and we got several compliments on it during the week. Overall, this was a perfect rental experience and I would absolutely rent from this host again. Highly recommend!
Rent a car and explore Redlands, CA
Redlands has the type of Mediterranean climate that once made it the Washington Navel Orange Growing Capital of the World. Moreover, its central setting with only an hour or so to Palm Springs or Los Angeles positions it as a base for exploring Southern California at its best. Of course, you don’t have to head to the other areas to explore beautiful regions and noteworthy tourist destinations. When a car rental on Turo is included in your plans, it’s easy to explore them all.
Rent the perfect car
With Smiley Park at its center, the District is south of downtown Redlands. In December 1994, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. Nestled between Brookside and Cypress Avenues, it is the predominant showcase of its initial building period, which began around 1886 and ended during the 1913 citrus freeze. Breathtakingly beautiful Victorian homes are complemented by American Craftsman-style designs. While there, visit the Lincoln Memorial Shrine located in the District. It features immersive displays of Civil War photographs and excerpts from the famous Federal Writers Project.
Pencil in the Glass Museum on Orange Street for a weekend visit. As you walk along the shelves, you travel back in time to when flint glass, whale oil lamps, and Paden City glassware could be found in local homes. Displays change all the time. But what remains static is the beauty of pieces such as a 1890s fan plate with tab handle or a 1915 Fenton goblet in the Sailboats pattern.
At the beginning of each summer, the 420 umbrellas covering the alley are replaced. As a result, the whimsical effect also impresses with bold colors. Along the alley and nearby street, you have an opportunity to try some of the best cuisine Redlands has to offer. Examples include Southern food at Martha Green’s Eating Room, traditional Irish food and ambiance at The Three Stags, and the Copehouse Bar & Bistro, which is as famous for its unique cocktails as it is for its Wagyu Burger.

When shopping is on the agenda, you need a large trunk to store your finds. The downtown State Street District is ideal for exploring art galleries and specialty shops. For the foodie, the Redlands Public Market and its vendors are a must–see. If you love to mall hop, you cannot go wrong with Citrus Plaza, the Mountain Grove Shopping Center, or the Redlands Town Center. A Mercedes-Benz E-Class has ample trunk space for your finds.

Pickup near or at Airports
What does it take to rent a car in Redlands? Travelers ready to buckle up and explore the area will love the closeness of the sightseeing spots. Most importantly, you are not subject to a public transportation schedule. Sure, there are the green Omnitrans buses, but do you really want to go shopping and then transport your finds on a crowded bus? Of course not! Book a car on Turo and you travel in comfort.
The city recently lowered its roadway speed limits to 55 MPH. Following occasional rainfall, there may be flooding or mudflows. Dearborn Street usually has very little traffic, while Redlands Boulevard experiences high traffic volumes daily. Avoid traffic by checking parallel streets such as Olive Avenue rather than Brookside Avenue.
It is easier to find parking before 11 a.m. and after 1 p.m. Parking structures are located on Citrus Avenue and North 5th Street. State Street public parking tends to get crowded, so it's best to look for side streets.
While there are no toll roads in the City of Redlands, the nearby freeways are a different story. For example, the I-10 express lanes near Redlands run from the I-15 interchange. If your itinerary takes you farther out to Riverside or Corona, be prepared to pay tolls on the I-15 and SR 91 express lanes. For travelers with a FasTrak account, payment is easy. All others need to be aware that they will receive a bill.
There are plenty of gas stations featuring the brands you love. Examples include Shell, ARCO, and 76. There are also Circle K locations. When you need charging stations, networks such as Tesla and EVgo are available. There are some 90 dedicated charging stations for drivers, some of which include DC Fast Chargers. Look for Tesla at the Redlands Downtown Public Garage and EVgo stations at the Tri-City Shopping Center. Other charging stations are found on East State Street, Mountain Grove, and Alabama Street.
For the traveler wanting to experience Redlands on their terms, a car rental makes it possible. Although many sightseeing opportunities are fairly close together, public transportation will cut into your schedule and may not take you exactly where you want to go. Most importantly, when traveling with children, you will appreciate the freedom a car offers you on your trip.
