Great pickup truck really served it’s purpose I will be renting from you again

It was great renting Katie’s truck. Perfect to get around all through San Diego and surroundings. Would rent again. We even extended one day and that was super simple too.

Awesome truck. Super clean and smooth ride. Easy pickup and dropoff. Would rent again.

Great experience renting this Toyota Tacoma! The truck was super clean, drove smoothly, and handled everything perfectly. Pickup and drop-off were easy, and the host was responsive and helpful throughout the trip. The Tacoma was reliable, comfortable, and great on both city streets and longer drives. Would definitely rent again — highly recommend!

The truck was great and the owner was ver accommodating. I’ll rent from him again.
Host was available for every need. Had little trouble with the vehicle on my four day trip. Loved the truck and now planning on grabbing one of my own.

I can’t say enough amazing things about my experience with Smooth and his gorgeous truck! Exceptional from beginning to end. First-rate service. Total class. Will be back!
Carlos was amazing and very easy to work with! Highly recommend especially if you’re a “short guy” and over 6’4”. At 6’9” I felt normal and could fit very well in this truck.

Overall experience was great! Checking in and out was incredibly smooth. The truck was hyper clean and is well maintained. 10/10 experience and would definitely do business with them again!

This is my third time with this company in cyber trucks. They’re always attentive and enter all messages at all hours and just overall great experience.

Rental was awesome! David is very accommodating and easy to work with! Thank you so much!

Awesome, easy checkout/in, super responsive hosts, would definitely rent from them again!

Great ride. Host is responsive. FSD is great. I used it 90% of the trip. I returned with 40% battery. When i picked it up it was only 20% though even though host said to return atleast 30% i guess the prior renter didnt follow, but over alll im satisfied and will rent again in future if im in SD again. Thank you.

Planning on booking a truck rental in San Diego? From parking to choosing the right truck size, here’s what you should know before picking up the keys.
Driving a truck isn't going to be the same as a car. Here are some tips to make your journey safe and hassle-free:
A truck’s got extra length and weight. This means you'll require more space for turning and more time to stop. Give yourself room, especially when squeezing through tight lanes or making tight left turns.
Look out on the freeways. A loaded truck takes longer to accelerate and brake, so leave more space between you and the car ahead, and avoid sudden lane changes when carrying heavy cargo.
Use the safety features. Most newer pickups come with backup cameras, sensors, and lane-assist features. They make navigating crowded beach lots, steep coastal driveways, and tight parking spots much easier.
Take extra care in windy conditions. When you're along coastal highways or the Coronado Bridge, strong crosswinds can shift your load, so keep cargo tied down and heavier items low.
Driving a truck in San Diego is totally manageable. Just remember to give yourself extra space and time to move around.
Parking a truck in San Diego can be tricky, especially in dense areas like Pacific Beach and downtown. Spaces are tight, beach crowds make turnover slow, and parking rules are strictly enforced — especially near coastal zones. So staying alert to signs is essential.
Street parking varies by neighborhood. Expect a mix of metered spots, permit-only zones, and no-stopping areas near schools, beaches, and major intersections. Red curbs and alley access points are heavily monitored, so avoid blocking the way.
Many garages (especially in downtown areas) have low clearance. Always check the signage before entering; trucks often exceed the maximum height and get stuck at the entrance.
If you’re running errands or picking up furniture in busy beach or urban neighborhoods, a mid-size truck will be much easier to maneuver and fit. Loading early in the morning, later at night, or during off-peak hours makes the whole process smoother.
Once you get into the suburban areas, parking becomes easier. But it’s still smart to watch for local restrictions and private-property tow zones.
The right truck depends on your plans. Moving apartments, hauling supplies, or getting out of the city for the weekend? Each calls for slightly different reliable trucks. Here’s what to consider in San Diego:
Truck size: Full-size trucks handle big moves and heavy materials. Mid-size trucks are easier to park in tight neighborhoods like North Park.
Cargo capacity: Match the bed size and payload to your load, whether it's furniture, construction supplies, or business inventory.
Seating: Heading out with your friends for a weekend road trip? An extended cab gives you extra room for all passengers to be comfortable on the drive.
Drive type: 2WD is suitable for city driving. If your plans include coastal hills, freeway driving, or occasional wet weather, an AWD or 4WD option can add extra stability on paved roads.
Safety features: Backup cameras and sensors help with tight beach lots and busy freeway merges.
Check the Turo app to find the right truck for your San Diego plans.
Loading up your truck rental? Keep these tips in mind for a safe and easy trip with a loaded truck:
Check the truck’s maximum load capacity before hauling anything heavy — whether you’re moving furniture, picking up construction materials, or loading outdoor gear for a beach day.
Distribute weight evenly to keep the truck stable, especially if you’re driving through winding canyon roads like those in the East County Loop.
Secure everything tightly with straps, ropes, or moving blankets. Sudden stops on busy roads, plus strong coastal winds, can shift unsecured cargo.
Watch the parking rules. Many San Diego neighborhoods have strict signs, from red curbs to loading-only zones. Double-check before loading or unloading.
Avoid low-clearance garages. Locations like downtown, Little Italy, and beach-area lots often have height limits that trucks can’t clear. Always check the height limit at the entrance before pulling in.
Be mindful of coastal winds and open bridges. If you’re heading across the Coronado Bridge or driving near the coastline, keep heavier items low and strapped down to prevent shifting or drag.
Use apps like Google Maps or PlugShare to find the nearest gas station or EV charger in San Diego and check their hours before you go.
San Diego has plenty of gas stations along major roads like Pacific Hwy and Imperial Ave, making it easy to fuel up while driving a rental truck. Keep in mind that many trucks require diesel, so always check the pump before filling.
Renting an EV truck or hybrid? Chargers are common across the city, including at shopping malls, hotels, parking lots, and gas stations.
