Great weekend car to use. At the time of my usage the air conditioning was not working but the host Marcus told me he would give me a 10% discount for the inconvenience and ended up just giving me one free day. Convertible feature was something to marvel at if you've never driven a convertible. Easy pick up and drop off locations so if you're looking for a stylish car that's comfortable as well as head turning, this one is it.

Loved the car! The convertible was great. It was a little tight for me at 6'4"--i had difficulty with the top of the windshield being in my line of sight. But still really enjoyed the trip and Marcus was great.

5 stars all around. Shaun’s Jeep Wrangler was an absolute blast to drive—took it out to Shenandoah and even though it was too cold to take the roof off, we still had an amazing time. The ride brought back all the good memories of having a Jeep myself, right down to tossing out the Jeep wave. Unfortunately, we had some bad luck with a windshield crack, but Shaun handled everything like a total pro. Great communication, super easy to work with, and just a stand-up guy. Would absolutely rent from him again!

Frequently asked questions in Upper Marlboro

Why choose a convertible for your Upper Marlboro adventure?

Convertibles offer an unmatched open-air driving experience through Maryland's scenic countryside and historic neighborhoods around Upper Marlboro. The ability to drop the top transforms ordinary drives into memorable adventures, whether you're cruising through Marlboro's tree-lined streets or exploring nearby areas like Glen Burnie and Bowie. A luxury convertible car rental provides the perfect combination of style and freedom for discovering Maryland's charming landscapes and attractions.

How do you operate a convertible roof properly?

Most modern convertibles feature electronic controls that lower or raise the roof with the push of a button, typically requiring the vehicle to be stationary or moving very slowly. Always ensure windows are slightly lowered before operating the roof mechanism to prevent pressure buildup, and check that no objects or passengers obstruct the roof's path. For manual convertibles, follow the specific latching sequence outlined in your rental car's manual, working systematically from front to back when securing the soft top.

What safety tips should convertible drivers follow?

Always secure loose items before driving with the top down, as wind can easily carry objects out of the vehicle and create hazards for other drivers on Maryland roads. Wear sunscreen and sunglasses to protect against increased UV exposure, and consider keeping a light jacket accessible since temperatures can feel cooler at highway speeds. Check weather conditions before departing, as sudden rain showers are common in the Upper Marlboro area and can damage interior components if the roof cannot be raised quickly.

Which scenic routes near Upper Marlboro suit convertibles best?

The winding roads through Maryland's historic tobacco country offer spectacular views perfect for convertible driving, with routes connecting Upper Marlboro to charming towns like Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay region. Tree-canopied drives through Prince George's County provide natural shade and beautiful scenery, while the route toward Greenbelt showcases the area's diverse landscapes. Coastal drives near the bay areas deliver refreshing ocean breezes that enhance the convertible experience, making luxury rental cars particularly enjoyable for exploring Maryland's varied terrain.

How should you pack for a convertible road trip?

Pack light and secure all items in the trunk or use tie-down straps for anything in the passenger compartment, as open-top driving creates significant wind that can displace loose objects. Choose soft-sided luggage that fits easily into potentially limited trunk space, and pack essential items like sunscreen, hair ties, and a windbreaker in easily accessible locations. Consider bringing a small cooler for refreshments during your Maryland adventure, ensuring it's properly secured to prevent shifting while navigating Upper Marlboro's roads.

What weather factors affect convertible driving?

Maryland's variable weather patterns require careful monitoring, as sudden thunderstorms can develop quickly and make convertible driving uncomfortable or unsafe. Wind speeds above 25 mph can create excessive buffeting and noise, particularly on highways connecting Upper Marlboro to areas like Laurel and Hyattsville. Temperature considerations are crucial since convertibles feel significantly cooler at speed, and direct sunlight exposure increases substantially compared to traditional cars, making weather awareness essential for enjoying your rental car experience.
