The 1965 Mustang was absolutely fantastic and made the trip unforgettable. The car was in great condition, drove beautifully, and was exactly as described. Jason was an amazing host—friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout the entire rental. He made everything so easy, from pickup to drop-off, and the whole experience was smooth and stress-free. I would definitely rent from Jason again and highly recommend both him and this beautiful Mustang to anyone looking for a special driving experience. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Mercury Comet 1963

Tom was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. The Mercury Comet was beautiful, in amazing condition, and made my daughter’s prom night feel perfect. The pictures turned out incredible and this was truly the highlight of her experience because this was the one thing she really wanted. Tom was kind, professional, communicative, and made the entire process smooth and stress free. One thing I really appreciated was the detailed video he sent ahead of time showing us how to operate the vehicle. Since it’s a 1963 classic car and we aren’t familiar with older vehicles, that extra touch meant so much and helped us feel fully prepared and comfortable. You can tell he genuinely cares about his renters and takes pride in his vehicle. We are so grateful he’s on Turo and we will definitely be renting from him again. Highly recommend.

We used this car for our wedding get away, the host was amazing and very easy to work with. The car ran great all weekend without any issues, was spotless when we picked it up and ready for photos. It was perfect for our special day! Would highly recommend this car for special occasions, or a fun weekend.

Toyota Land Cruiser 1977

A unique opportunity to rent the ICONIC Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 that was imported from the Japanese market. The steering wheel is on the right side, so you’ll be shifting the 4-speed manual with your left hand. This dijon mustard Land Cruiser will get attention EVERYWHERE you go. The little diesel isn’t fast, so plan ahead and stick to the slow lane. What a joy to experience something most people have no access to. I will rent this again! Jonathan made the rental very easy and walked me through the features of the vehicle.

True 1986 driving experience! Glad the weather was in the 70s during my trip. Truly a car you rent if you’re trying to experience LA in a classic, manual, bare-bones car; I loved it. So nostalgic.

This is an amazingly fun automobile - but - do not rent it unless you're OK getting your photo taken. We were mobbed by photographers in Monaco, Eze and Cap Ferrat - the combination of the car and my stunningly beautiful wife. Arthur was tremendously helpful. Thank you! It's just terrific memories made.

What an incredible experience. My mom had a ‘69 Mustang when she was growing up, so I knew I had to rent this when she came down to visit. We cruised along the Pacific Coast Highway and had plenty of people stopping us along the way to say “cool car!” Barry was awesome and I would definitely recommend renting this beautiful ride to anyone looking for a unique experience.

Top tips for renting a classic car in Irvine

Book early on Turo to secure the best vintage vehicles, as classic rental cars are popular in Southern California. Frequently asked questions in Irvine

What classic rental car features should I consider for Irvine drives?

Classic rental cars in Irvine typically feature manual transmissions, vintage steering systems, and period-appropriate braking mechanisms that require gentle handling. Many classic vehicles lack modern amenities like air conditioning, which can be important during California's warmer months when exploring Orange County attractions. Power steering and power brakes may be absent in older models, so expect a more engaging driving experience through Southern California's scenic routes.

How does driving a classic rental car differ from modern vehicles?

Classic rental car operation requires more deliberate inputs, with heavier steering and longer braking distances compared to contemporary vehicles. Vintage cars often need warming up periods before driving and may have quirky gear shifts or clutch characteristics unique to their era. The driving experience emphasizes mechanical connection and driver engagement, making every journey through Irvine and surrounding areas like Newport Beach more memorable.

Where can I safely park a classic rental car in Irvine?

Irvine offers numerous covered parking structures in shopping centers and business districts that protect classic vehicles from California sun exposure. The Irvine Spectrum Center and other major venues provide secure parking areas suitable for vintage automobiles. Avoid street parking during peak hours, and consider shaded spots when visiting attractions in Costa Mesa or Huntington Beach to preserve your classic rental car's interior and paint.

What should I know about long trips in a classic rental car?

Classic rental cars may require more frequent stops for engine cooling, especially during California's warmer seasons when traveling between Irvine and destinations like San Clemente. Vintage vehicles often have smaller fuel tanks and different consumption patterns than modern cars, so plan fuel stops accordingly throughout Orange County. Pack essential fluids and basic tools, as classic automobiles may need minor adjustments during extended drives through Southern California.

How does California weather affect classic car rentals?

California's mild climate makes Irvine ideal for classic car rental experiences year-round, with minimal weather-related driving challenges. Summer heat can affect vintage cooling systems, so early morning or evening drives work best for exploring areas like Anaheim or Santa Ana. Coastal fog near Newport Beach and Huntington Beach may require headlights and careful visibility management in older vehicles with less effective defrosting systems.

Which scenic routes near Irvine suit classic rental cars best?

Pacific Coast Highway segments between Irvine and coastal destinations like Newport Beach offer stunning ocean views perfect for classic car rental touring. The winding roads through Orange County's hills provide excellent opportunities to experience vintage vehicle handling while enjoying Southern California scenery. Routes connecting Irvine to Santa Ana and Costa Mesa feature manageable traffic patterns and interesting stops that complement the classic car rental driving experience.
