Ford C-Max Hybrid 2016

Lehy was an exceptional host. Communication was on point and friendly. The C max hybrid was very clean and comfortable also met my expectations of GREAT gas mileage. I would rent again from Lehy when I return to Salt Lake City. Price was very reasonable. Included mileage of 800 miles was plenty for my trip. Thank you Lehy for the use of your car. I appreciate your hospitality!

This was my first car rental using this app, and by far, it is the best car rental service offered. Jorge is absoluting the best host to rent from! The vehicle I rented was in excellent condition, very well maintained, clean inside and out, and problem free!! In fact, it was much more than I was expecting for the price I paid!! If anyone is needing a rental in Salt Lake, Jorge is the one that will hook you up!! I know I will be hitting Jorge up for my future car rentals!!

Easy pickup and drop off and car was clean. The price felt a bit high for the particular car, but perhaps the demand was up when I was in need of the rental. Great directions and communication from seller.

FIAT 500 2015

Cute little car, easy to drive! Stefini was responsive to questions. Airport pickup/dropoff is slick compared to a car rental company. Took the free shuttle to Economy parking and it was parked right where it was labeled. I returned it to the same area and shuttled to the airport. Easy! Never will I book from a car rental company and wait in line again! People mention the air conditioner in the reviews. If you turn it on through the defrost, it worked great for me and it was in the 80's. I would book again!

Trip and hosts were PHENOMENAL! They taught us how to operate the Tesla since we had never driven one and we were so thankful! Pickup and drop off was a breeze. Our flight was also delayed 3.5 hours and we were able to extend our rental no charge. Seriously the best! The hosts are also extremely responsive if you have any issues!

Who is monthly car rental in Salt Lake City for?

Just relocated to Salt Lake City

You just accepted a role at Adobe, Qualtrics, or one of the dozens of tech companies along the Silicon Slopes corridor — and now you need a car before you've figured out which neighborhood to live in. A monthly car rental gives you reliable transport from day one, so you can learn the valley's layout, test your commute on I-15, and take your time deciding whether to buy. It's a practical ownership alternative — no rush, no pressure, no dealership.

Lease just ended — or just sold your car

Salt Lake City's wide valley grid makes getting around without a car tough, and public transit outside the TRAX light rail lines is limited. If your lease just wrapped or you sold your car, a monthly rental bridges the gap while you figure out your next move. You get the car you need now without locking into another loan or settling for the first thing on the lot.

Extended work assignment or traveling professional

Traveling nurses rotating through Intermountain Health, seasonal workers heading to Park City or Snowbird for ski season, government contractors on multi-month projects — Salt Lake City sees a steady stream of professionals on defined-length stays. For assignments of 10 weeks, three months, or longer, a monthly car rental on Turo is significantly more cost-effective than renting week to week, with the flexibility to extend or wrap up when the job does.

Post-college or first car

With 38,000-plus students at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City has a large population of recent graduates stepping into post-college life. If your credit history is thin and your budget is tight, a monthly rental lets you drive a reliable car without the down payment, loan approval, or depreciation that come with buying. You stay mobile while you figure out where life takes you next.

Purple squiggle

Turo operates at Salt Lake City International Airport with approved pickup and return areas — check the Turo app for current pickup instructions and coordinate with your host for a smooth handoff. It's an easy start to a monthly rental without the traditional rental counter experience.

Sugar House

Sugar House is one of Salt Lake City's most popular neighborhoods for young professionals and new residents, with a walkable mix of restaurants, shops, and parks near Sugar House Park. If you're relocating and exploring the city before committing to a neighborhood, picking up a car in Sugar House puts you close to daily conveniences and easy access to I-80 for commuting across the valley.

Downtown Salt Lake City

Downtown is Salt Lake City's employment hub, home to tech offices, government buildings, and TRAX light rail connections. For professionals on extended work assignments, picking up a monthly rental downtown keeps you close to the action — and close to the valley's highest concentration of apartments and rental housing. It's a practical starting point for anyone working in the city center.

Top tips for monthly car rental in Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City's valley layout, winter weather, and I-15 commuting culture all shape what you should think about before booking a monthly rental here.

Finding the best deal

Use the duration filter on Turo to surface listings with 30-plus day discounts — these offer the lowest daily rates. Browse by price range to compare options quickly, and book in advance for the widest selection. Many listings also offer reduced rates for seven-day and 14-day bookings, so even shorter stays can save you money.

How to pick a car

For daily commuting on I-15, fuel efficiency matters. Reliable sedans like the Toyota Camry or Honda Accord, compact options like the Toyota Corolla or Hyundai Elantra, and versatile SUVs like the Toyota RAV4 or Honda CR-V all work well for everyday valley driving. Prioritize comfort, fuel economy, and cargo space over flash.

Road rules and conditions in Salt Lake City

Speed limits run 25 mph in city neighborhoods and up to 75 mph on highways. I-15 is the main corridor through the valley, and rush hour congestion is common, especially during morning and evening commutes. Salt Lake City's wide grid streets make navigation straightforward. From November through March, expect winter driving conditions, including snow and ice on roads.

Parking in Salt Lake City

For a monthly rental, downtown parking garages offer monthly passes typically in the $100 to $200 range. Most residential neighborhoods have free street parking, so if you're staying in Sugar House or other areas outside downtown, parking is rarely an issue. Metered street parking is available downtown, and some streets enforce winter parking bans during snow emergencies.

Toll roads in Salt Lake City

I-15 Express Lanes are the main toll road in the Salt Lake City area, running through the busiest stretch of the valley. If you're commuting daily, an electronic transponder (Express Pass) can save time during peak hours. Check your listing details and keep toll guidance general — requirements can change.

Gas and EV charging in Salt Lake City

Gas stations are easy to find along major roads like State Street and Redwood Road. For electric vehicles, free Level 2 ChargePoint stations are available downtown, operated by the city. EV infrastructure across the valley continues to grow, making electric cars a practical option for monthly renters.

Types of cars available in Salt Lake City

On Turo, you'll find practical everyday vehicles ideal for monthly rentals in Salt Lake City. Reliable sedans like the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, fuel-efficient compacts like the Toyota Corolla and Hyundai Elantra, and family-friendly SUVs like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V are all available. These affordable, dependable cars are well-suited for daily commuting and valley driving.

What kind of license do I need to rent a car on Turo in Salt Lake City?

How does car rental protection work on Turo in Salt Lake City?

You don't need personal insurance to rent a car on Turo in Salt Lake City. Every trip includes third-party liability coverage, and you can choose from a range of protection plans for the vehicle itself. Select the level that fits your comfort and budget when you book.

Is there unlimited mileage car rental on Turo in Salt Lake City?

It depends on the listing. Some cars on Turo in Salt Lake City include unlimited distance; others set a daily mileage allowance. You'll see the distance included on each listing before you book. Can I get discounts on monthly car rental on Turo in Salt Lake City?

Yes. Turo listings in Salt Lake City often offer tiered discounts — rates drop for 3+ day, 7+ day, and 30+ day bookings. The longer you book, the lower your daily rate. Booking in advance also gives you access to the widest selection and best pricing.

Can other people drive the car I rented in Salt Lake City?

Yes. You can add additional drivers to your Turo trip in Salt Lake City at no extra cost. Additional drivers need their own Turo account and must be approved to drive. You can add them through the Trips tab in the app before or during your trip.

Is monthly car rental on Turo cheaper than leasing a car?

For many people — especially those needing a car for one to six months — a monthly rental on Turo can cost significantly less than a traditional lease when you add up the full picture. Leases typically require a down payment, monthly payments, maintenance costs, and years of commitment. On Turo, you see the total price upfront with no hidden charges, no credit check, and no long-term obligation. For shorter commitments in Salt Lake City, the math often favors renting.
