The Rivian R1T is the brand’s all-electric pickup, pairing a futuristic look with thoughtful everyday usability. It stands out for its smart packaging, including a front trunk for extra storage and the signature Gear Tunnel. The Gear Tunnel is a long, lockable storage compartment that runs across the truck behind the cabin and is accessible from both sides. Inside, a spacious, comfortable cabin and a large central display create a driving experience that feels equal parts refined and forward-thinking.
The Rivian R1S is the SUV sibling to the R1T, delivering the same distinctive Rivian design in a more family-friendly shape. Inside, the cabin feels modern and open, with a clean dashboard layout and refined details that make longer drives feel relaxed. You’ll also get other EV advantages, including smooth regenerative braking and available driver-assistance features like adaptive cruise control designed to support confident driving.
If you’re looking for the most elevated Rivian model experience, seek out a quad-motor R1T. This configuration emphasizes stronger acceleration and precise, responsive handling, with performance-focused hardware designed to balance comfort with control. Book a quad-motor Rivian on Turo to experience Rivian’s most impressive electric performance.

So far, no vehicle on the road is truly self-driving. Rivian has equipped the R1T and R1S with their semi-autonomous system called Driver+, which is aimed to compete with Tesla’s Autopilot. Driver+ offers features like adaptive cruise control, assisted lane changing, and emergency braking. But as Rivian models are connected vehicles, both the R1S and R1T can receive over-the-air updates to their software systems, leaving the door open for improvements with their auto tech. To be clear, these are not driverless vehicles, and Rivian is not chiefly an autonomous vehicle company.
