Car rental in Fairview, OR

This was my first time using Turo to rent a vehicle, and the experience was definitely different from the traditional rental car process. Pickup was done from an airport Extended Stay parking lot, and the vehicle was left unlocked with a lockbox in the glove box containing the key and parking ticket. The app made the process easy to follow, but it was a new experience for me compared to walking up to a rental counter. When I arrived, I was surprised to find that the interior of the car was fairly dirty and had quite a bit of sand inside. I also noticed the fuel tank was only about 3/4 full instead of full. Since this was my first Turo rental, I wasn’t sure at first if that was normal, but I quickly realized it was not. I took photos, documented everything through the app, and notified the host. To their credit, the host responded promptly, apologized, and explained that they had been told the vehicle had been professionally cleaned and that the fuel had been topped off. Unfortunately, neither of those things had happened, but they handled it well. They offered a way for me to get the car cleaned and told me I could return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel it had when I picked it up. That was a fair and reasonable solution, and I appreciated their quick response. I did not end up having time to get the car cleaned, but I appreciated that they gave me the option. About an hour into my trip on the freeway, the oil light came on. I immediately pulled over, checked the dipstick, and found that the oil was very low. I noticed there was oil in the trunk near the spare tire, but it was not the correct type for the vehicle. I contacted the host through the app, and they responded quickly again, asking me to add the correct oil and letting me know they would reimburse me for the cost. The drop off process was convenient, quick, and easy to navigate through the app. Overall, despite the issues with cleanliness, fuel, and oil, I still had a positive experience. I am rating this five stars because I understand that things can happen and miscommunications can occur. What matters most to me is how those issues are handled, and the host responded promptly, politely, and professionally each time. I have rented many cars over the years for both business and leisure, and occasional issues can come up with any rental company or rental process. The difference is how the agency or host responds. In this case, the host handled everything well, and I would be happy to rent from them again hence the 5 star rating.

Absolutely fantastic experience! The Tesla was amazing, clean, comfortable, and a pleasure to drive. The owner was incredible to work with—very friendly, easy to communicate with, and made the whole rental experience effortless. You can tell he genuinely cares about providing a great experience. Great car for the price very smooth driving and safe. Great on gas mileage i highly recommend. Eli was also very helpful and there for any questions i had if i need to rent a car again i will definitely rent from him again.

Very straightforward for pickup. The car's interior was clean the car wasn't dirty at all and had a full tank of gas. The car didn't give me issues at all drove it a ton and drove great! Will definitely rent again in the future.

The car was everything I needed!!🤍 I am so happy with the little Versa, took me to point A to point B smoothly. I was on my first solo trip ever to Oregon (never been) and road tripped to so many beautiful spots. I want to mention how useful it was to have a phone stand so I can comfortably see the GPS on my phone and there was also a phone charger for all phone types! My phone was always fully charged while on the road. This solo trip was a gift to myself for my birthday

As somebody who rents car is quite a bit of personal like this was and for business, I’m leaving a five star review because I know how important that is as a business owner in this specific type of industry. The positive is the car was very well cleaned at least on the inside, I’ve rented plenty of cars that have had a very mediocre hands-free unit to put your cell phone and this one had a good one. The car ran smoothly and despite some disagreement, they were extremely clear on communication The biggest piece of feedback that I would give with how much I’ve traveled is especially for vacations, someone plans trips out months in advance or in my case almost 8 months in advance, and then rented the car a month or so ago. I understand how important it is for business owners who are partnering with a company like this to run their assets in a way that makes sense for them while also adhering to guidelines. My only feedback is if this company wants to have specific travel restrictions that are outside what is posted on the original booking, you should send that message right after someone books the vehicle. this allows them to have time to make changes while respecting your preferences instead of being caught off guard with little to no time for change. I don’t feel it. It’s appropriate to share the communication I had with this business owner for my trip, but I will say that had I’ve been given the rules that were unique to this vehicle and not posted on the original booking, I would’ve respected that and chose to try to find a different vehicle but being told literally the day off/night before it’s not the best way to run the assets, especially for those who frequently rent or refer vehicle rentals to others. That is my only main feedback.

Great deal for the price. It was a hybrid so we only had to fill up once when returning the car. We also left our phone in the car and they were very helpful at shipping it back to us.
