A great car and definitely attentive host. I really appreciate that- Leon was great. So glad I went this route to rent a car vs going to a commercial car rental place. So much more personable. Would definitely recommend working with Leon!

The host was really nice and very responsive—whenever I messaged him, he replied right away. The car had no problems and drove well. It would have been even better if the car had been vacuumed and cleaned a little more before pickup, but overall, for the price, it was a good experience and I would definitely rent from him again. Thank you!

The car was nice, I didn't mind the hydrogen fuel type because I was mainly just making one trip and short in town drives. The renters were very responsive and informative which made this experience so seamless. They have my recommendation!

I had both of my cars break down, including a 2018 model, at a very important time. To make matters worse, the host of a previous Turo reservation canceled on me at the last minute. Thankfully, Nadezhda was incredibly accommodating and responsive. She made the entire process smooth and stress-free, and I was able to get back on the road without any issues. I truly appreciate her professionalism and would definitely book with her again. Highly recommended!

I had an excellent experience with this car rental service. The booking process was smooth and straightforward, and the staff were incredibly professional, friendly, and helpful from start to finish. The car was clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described—no surprises, just quality service. Pickup and drop-off were quick and hassle-free, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. What I appreciated most was their attention to detail and customer care. They made sure everything was clear, and I felt confident and comfortable throughout the rental period. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable and stress-free car rental experience. I will definitely use their service again!

Ramil and Rashid were the most amazing hosts. The car was super clean and had a very pleasant smell upon pickup. I had a couple questions about how to use the Bluetooth feature in the car while on vacation and they responded to my messages so quickly (and politely!). This was my first time using Turo and they made it such a wonderful experience! Highly recommend Rashid and Ramil as hosts and I will definitely rent from them again in the future! Thank you for everything!! 🌟

I can't imagine a better experience than the one I had this past weekend. The car was terrific, and very clean inside and out. Roberto is a superb host, the model, really, of what a good Turo host should be like. When we met to begin the rental period, Roberto spent time with me to show me the car and how to use its functions, various settings and options (it's an electric car). He explained things clearly, and then made himself available throughout my 4-day rental period if I needed assistance or had a question about how to do something. Roberto demonstrated great interest in making sure my rental experience with his car was a good one. I can't recommend him and his car highly enough. I would definitely rent from him again.

It’s a nice car great ride. Owner left nice instructions about how to operate and refuel the car. Very important instructions indeed. Recommended if you want to experience a fuel cell car. They are not cheap to fuel as electric cars though. Price of Hydrogen is high. Paid $65 for half a tank.

This was my first time using Turo, and I’ll never use traditional car rental companies again! Tony, our host, was fantastic—from pickup to drop-off, he made sure everything was seamless! And the car?! 😍 Absolutely perfect. My partner and I LOVED it, and kept arguing over who got to drive her 😂 Cruising through Yosemite in a convertible was a total game changer. HUGE thanks to Tony for making our weekend unforgettable!

The car was fantastic! I wasn’t sure whether to rent this car for my 2 month trip, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I absolutely loved it, and now want my very own Miata. The host was super nice and flexible too. 10/10 Miata is always the answer.

Top tips for driving in Cupertino

A few local pointers make getting around Cupertino easy, whether you're here for a day or a month.

Road rules

Cupertino is generally driver-friendly, but De Anza Boulevard and Stevens Creek Boulevard get busy at rush hour, so plan a little extra time. Watch for cyclists and pedestrians near campuses and schools, and keep to posted limits in residential areas. A scenic detour toward Los Altos and the foothills is an easy, low-stress drive.

Parking

Downtown Cupertino offers on-street and off-street parking, with metered spots and public lots near the main shopping centers. Many attractions, including Apple Park Visitor Center and Cupertino Village, have their own lots, so parking is rarely a problem — just check signs for time limits and permit-only residential blocks.

Toll roads

Most trips around Cupertino stick to toll-free routes like Interstate 280 and Highway 85. If a longer drive takes you across a Bay Area bridge, check the current toll details before you go.

Gas and EV charging

You'll find gas stations along Stevens Creek and De Anza Boulevards and near Interstate 280 exits. Driving electric? Silicon Valley has one of the densest charging networks anywhere, with stations at shopping centers and major destinations across Cupertino.

Do you need a car in Cupertino?

Public transit covers some routes, but a car is the most flexible way to explore Cupertino and the wider valley — especially if you plan to reach parks, nearby cities, or the coast on your own schedule.

What does it cost?

Prices vary by car, season, and how long you book. Compare daily and monthly rates on Turo before you reserve, and book early for the best selection.

Frequently asked questions in Cupertino, CA

Turo vs traditional car rental in Cupertino

Turo is a car rental marketplace where local hosts share their cars with guests. Instead of a fixed counter and a limited lot, you browse a wide range of vehicles, compare real ratings and reviews, and choose pickup nearby or delivery to your hotel or the airport. You can book by the day, the week, or the month, with clear pricing up front — a simple, flexible alternative to a traditional rental in Cupertino.

What do I need to rent a car in Cupertino?

To book a car in Cupertino, you'll need a Turo account, a valid driver's license, and an accepted payment method. Once you're approved to drive, you can book any eligible car and arrange pickup or delivery with your host.

What kind of driver's license do I need to rent a car in Cupertino?

A valid driver's license works for booking a car in Cupertino. Out-of-state and most international guests can drive on Turo, too — international guests may need a license in the Roman alphabet or an International Driving Permit alongside their home-country license.

How old do I need to be to rent a car in Cupertino?

You generally need to be at least 18 to book a car in the US, though some cars and hosts set higher age requirements. Younger guests may see a limited selection, so check each listing's details before you book.

Is protection available when I rent a car in Cupertino?

Yes. When you book a car in Cupertino, you'll choose from a range of protection plans at checkout. Compare the options and pick the one that fits your trip before you confirm.

Are there discounts on car rentals in Cupertino?

Many hosts in Cupertino offer lower daily rates for weekly and monthly bookings, so longer trips often cost less per day. Watch for these built-in savings as you compare cars.

Can I rent a car long-term in Cupertino?

Yes. Plenty of hosts in Cupertino welcome longer bookings, whether you need a car for a few weeks or several months. Look for cars that offer weekly and monthly rates for the best value on an extended stay.

Do car rentals in Cupertino come with unlimited mileage?

Mileage limits are set by each host, so some cars in Cupertino include generous or unlimited miles while others have a daily cap. Check the listing's mileage details before you book to match it to your plans.

Can I add an additional driver to my car rental in Cupertino?

Yes. You can add an approved additional driver at no extra cost. Add drivers yourself in the Turo app rather than asking your host — every driver just needs to be approved to drive before the trip.

Can I rent a car monthly in Cupertino?

Yes. Monthly rentals are a great fit if you're relocating, on a long assignment, or between cars, with pricing that's easy to plan around. Browse cars available by the month and book the one that fits your stay.
