Carma definitely restored my faith in Tullamarine car rental companies. Hannah was super friendly. Pick and drop off was a breeze. Car got 700kms on one tank. No complaints at all. Thanks team!

Absolutely! Here’s a review you could post: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect Cruise Port Car Rental for Exploring Hilo We rented a car during our cruise stop in Hilo, and the entire experience was incredibly easy. The rental location was just a short walk from the cruise port, conveniently located across from the general store, making pickup and drop-off simple and stress-free. The car was clean, reliable, and perfect for exploring the island. We spent the day driving through the lush scenery of the Big Island and visiting the breathtaking Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. Having our own vehicle gave us the freedom to stop whenever we wanted for photos, scenic overlooks, and local attractions. If you’re arriving by cruise ship and want to make the most of your time in Hilo, I highly recommend renting a car here. It was one of the highlights of our trip and allowed us to experience so much more of the island than we could have otherwise. We would definitely rent from them again on our next visit! 🌋🚗 A fantastic way to see the Big Island in just one day!
I will break my car rental experience (November, 2025) into 3 parts: Turo, car provider and vehicle. Turo. First time to use this app. Overall, simple and intuitive to use. It is a good option when compared to the traditional car rental companies. It was really nice not having to wait at the service rental counter. Car provider. Once you finish with the Turo process, you finalize all the details with the car owner. Daniel was exceptional to work with. He was timely and thorough with his responses to all my inquiries. Our flight arrived earlier than scheduled. I contacted Daniel and he had the car immediately available for my use. He was honest and trustworthy. At the end of the trip, I identified what I thought was a new chip in the paint. He reported it was present before the rental and not an issue. There is comfort in knowing there was no hidden agenda. Vehicle, Toyota Corolla, 2015. Don't let the age or size of the car deter you. The car was clean, dependable and satisfied all of my needs for 2 people. Hawaii may be dramatic with its natural wonders, but it is stingy with the parking spaces and roads (think road to Hana and Haleakala Volcano). We were happy to be driving this car instead of the SUVs and Jeeps that populated the parking lots and narrow, twisting roads. Overall, I would recommend Turo and HIGHLY recommend Daniel and his Toyota Corolla for your car rental needs in Maui.

Everything about this trip and this car rental was amazing. It was very easy to pick up the car. The car was very clean and have a full tank of gas. I would absolutely rent a car with turtle again.
Great car rental service with wonderful customer service! Me and my wife got a nice camaro ss , we drove around the island with the top down and had an amazing time. The best customer service ever, got some tips to make our trip easier. Definitely will rent a car for next vacation with them.
David was communicative, pickup and drop off was easy with clear instructions, car drove well, overall very satisfied with our experience. Great cost friendly alternative to bigger car rental companies with a lot more flexibility, but come with the right expectations (i.e. don't expect a squeaky clean car)
This trip was amazing because of our car rental. It was super clean and drove really well. Great on gas. The host was also very attentive and nice :) 10/10 recommend.

The car was spotless, well maintained, and drove beautifully. Pick up was quick and easy. The car owner was friendly and also offered, and dropped us off to the airport as we had traveled from Melbourne. The car was exactly what I needed comfortable, fuel efficient, and reliable. Would absolutely rent from here again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a hassle-free car rental experience.

Amazing experience with both the car and the host! The vehicle was clean, well maintained, and exactly as described. Everything worked perfectly, and the car made the trip even more enjoyable. The host was very friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout the whole rental process. Communication was easy, pickup and drop-off were smooth, and overall everything felt professional and stress-free. Highly recommend renting from this host — definitely would book again!
Pick up was easy, car was very tidy, car was well maintained. Best car rental so far 🫡
Great service. Car was perfect. So much easier than dealing with rental cars
I enjoyed using this car for my solo trip to Brisbane and back. Easy to use. Has built in navigation and Bluetooth to connect my phone (for music). Host was easy to deal with. Responded promptly. Price also good.

Absolutely amazing experience renting this Mustang through Turo! The car was clean, well-maintained, and an absolute blast to drive. Everything about the rental process was smooth and easy from start to finish. The owner was incredibly friendly, responsive, and made the whole experience stress-free. You can tell they really care about both the vehicle and their guests. I would definitely rent from them again and highly recommend this Mustang to anyone looking for a fun and reliable ride!
Car quality was awesome. Comfortable and spacious and neatly tidy and well taken care of. Car rental was awesome and smooth and easy and comfortable. Thank you so much Zerin! Mahalo. Hope to rent from you again for more trips coming up.
Very happy with my car rental. Vehicle worked great for going around the island. the pickup and drop off process was super easy and smooth and the host very reliable. Would rent again.
Every thing went smoothly fast easy pick up, car was immaculate, & great value , overall great car rental experience
The host gave us clear instructions and communicated with us very well for a hassle-free car rental!

The car did everything we needed it to do. We felt like a local, the car was certainly clean for the price. I would rent again because the price was right and it was great on gas. Like an ant sipping water. Pick up and drop off was easy enough. Took us a few min to find the car then it was very easy to drop off. Mahalo.

Don't miss out on the gallery's extensive First Nations collection, celebrating the work of Indigenous artists.
Just a short stroll from the CBD, the Royal Botanic Gardens offers a peaceful escape in the middle of the city. Wander the lakeside paths, explore themed gardens, or simply find a shady spot to relax — it's one of Melbourne's most loved green spaces for good reason. Park your Turo rental car at the conveniently located Eastern Plaza Car Park, or try your hand at a street spot along the gardens' edge.

After booking online, us the app to organise a convenient location near the airport to collect the car. Then, when you land, simply make your way to that spot and grab the vehicle keys from a secure drop box or pre-arranged location. You cannot pick up or drop off your car rental on Melbourne Airport grounds.
Once your trip has come to an end, all you need to do is return the car to the same place you picked it up, or alternatively, another spot conveniently located outside of Melbourne Airport, organised with your host. Melbourne Tullamarine Airport is roughly 20 to 25 kilometres from the CBD, depending on your route. The drive usually takes 25 to 40 minutes, but can be longer during peak-hour traffic. If you're flying into Avalon Airport south of the CBD, it's approximately 55 to 60 kilometres, or about an hour's drive.
Melbourne's road network is busy, especially during weekday peak hours, but it's generally well-maintained and clearly signed. Speed limits will vary depending on where you're driving: 50 kilometres per hour (km/h) in most built-up and residential areas, 60–80 km/h on major suburban roads, and 100–110 km/h on freeways. School zones operate at 40 km/h during set times, and speed cameras — both fixed and mobile — are common across the city.
Typical Australian road rules apply in Melbourne, including wearing a seatbelt at all times, adhering to road signs, driving on the left-hand side of the road, and not touching your phone while driving under any circumstances.
The CBD has several unique rules visitors should be aware of. The most notable is the hook turn, which requires drivers to turn right from the left lane at certain intersections with tram tracks. They're always clearly signed, but the movement can feel a little unusual if you're not familiar with it. Melbourne's extensive tram network also means you must stop behind trams when their doors open and avoid driving in tram-only lanes.
Driving conditions vary depending on the time of day. Freeways like the Monash, Eastern, and CityLink can experience congestion, while suburban roads are typically smoother outside peak periods. Weather can also impact visibility and traction — Melbourne is known for its unpredictable weather, including random spurts of rain, so always adjust your speed to suit conditions.
Parking in the Melbourne CBD can be costly and competitive, so it's always good to plan ahead. You'll find large paid car parks at spots like Federation Square, Melbourne Central, QV, and Crown, most of which can be pre-booked using a provider like Secure Parking. On-street parking is available but often timed or metered, with regular enforcement.
As you travel out of the city to other hotspots like Fitzroy, Carlton, and St Kilda, you'll notice street parking becomes cheaper and more accessible. And if you're doing errands around Melbourne, shopping centres like Chadstone and Highpoint offer free or time-limited parking.
There are two main toll roads in Melbourne — CityLink and EastLink. CityLink covers the stretch between Tullamarine Airport and the CBD, the Bolte Bridge, the Burnley and Domain tunnels, and the section of the Monash Freeway between Toorak Road and the West Gate Freeway. EastLink runs between Donvale and Frankston, covering the EastLink tunnels near Mullum Mullum and Melba. All tolling is electronic with a tag or account, and toll points are clearly signed along both routes.
While you'll receive your rental car with a full tank of petrol, it's easy to find places to top up while you're cruising through Melbourne. You'll notice plenty of bp, Shell, Ampol, and 7-Eleven stations in the CBD and its surrounds, especially along major roads like Hoddle Street, Kings Way, Sydney Road and Flemington Road. Many suburban stations operate 24 hours.
Electric vehicle (EV) chargers are also widely available in Melbourne city. Fast-charging locations can be found at Melbourne Airport and Melbourne Central, in many secure parking lots, and along major freeways. Shopping centres like Chadstone and Westfield Southland have multiple charging bays, and regional routes are supported by fast chargers from Chargefox, Evie, and more.
While Melbourne has a fantastic public transport network made up of trams, trains, and buses, the best way to see everything the city has to offer is with a hire car — especially if you value time and convenience. Head out to Melbourne's vibrant inner north for some op-shopping and a drink at an eclectic bar, visit St Kilda for a day out at Luna Park, or escape the city entirely with a leisurely drive to Geelong, the Mornington Peninsula, or the Surf Coast.
When you book a car at Melbourne Airport using Turo, you'll have your pick of hundreds of makes and models, ranging from affordable compact cars to sleek SUVs and luxury sedans — all at great prices.
Choose comfort with a full-size SUV like the Honda CR-V, perfect for cramming in the kids or your luggage. Need more space? You'll find van rentals and more on Turo, including the LDV G10+ and the Renault Kangoo. If you'd prefer something smaller, consider a compact SUV like the Suzuki Jimny, a luxury electric vehicle like the Polestar 2 Long Range, or even a sports car like the Audi A3 convertible.
Unlike other rental car companies, when you book with Turo, you'll always receive the exact rental car you selected at checkout — no 'similar' vehicles or last-minute switch-ups to other vehicles. Enjoy flexibility, convenience, and the freedom to explore Melbourne on your own terms.
The cost of car rental in Melbourne can vary depending on car type, booking length, extras, and delivery. For cheap car hire and bargain car rentals in Melbourne, look out for discounts on longer-duration bookings and early bookings to secure the best price.
