Carma definitely restored my faith in Tullamarine car rental companies. Hannah was super friendly. Pick and drop off was a breeze. Car got 700kms on one tank. No complaints at all. Thanks team!

Absolutely! Here’s a review you could post: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect Cruise Port Car Rental for Exploring Hilo We rented a car during our cruise stop in Hilo, and the entire experience was incredibly easy. The rental location was just a short walk from the cruise port, conveniently located across from the general store, making pickup and drop-off simple and stress-free. The car was clean, reliable, and perfect for exploring the island. We spent the day driving through the lush scenery of the Big Island and visiting the breathtaking Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. Having our own vehicle gave us the freedom to stop whenever we wanted for photos, scenic overlooks, and local attractions. If you’re arriving by cruise ship and want to make the most of your time in Hilo, I highly recommend renting a car here. It was one of the highlights of our trip and allowed us to experience so much more of the island than we could have otherwise. We would definitely rent from them again on our next visit! 🌋🚗 A fantastic way to see the Big Island in just one day!
I will break my car rental experience (November, 2025) into 3 parts: Turo, car provider and vehicle. Turo. First time to use this app. Overall, simple and intuitive to use. It is a good option when compared to the traditional car rental companies. It was really nice not having to wait at the service rental counter. Car provider. Once you finish with the Turo process, you finalize all the details with the car owner. Daniel was exceptional to work with. He was timely and thorough with his responses to all my inquiries. Our flight arrived earlier than scheduled. I contacted Daniel and he had the car immediately available for my use. He was honest and trustworthy. At the end of the trip, I identified what I thought was a new chip in the paint. He reported it was present before the rental and not an issue. There is comfort in knowing there was no hidden agenda. Vehicle, Toyota Corolla, 2015. Don't let the age or size of the car deter you. The car was clean, dependable and satisfied all of my needs for 2 people. Hawaii may be dramatic with its natural wonders, but it is stingy with the parking spaces and roads (think road to Hana and Haleakala Volcano). We were happy to be driving this car instead of the SUVs and Jeeps that populated the parking lots and narrow, twisting roads. Overall, I would recommend Turo and HIGHLY recommend Daniel and his Toyota Corolla for your car rental needs in Maui.

Everything about this trip and this car rental was amazing. It was very easy to pick up the car. The car was very clean and have a full tank of gas. I would absolutely rent a car with turtle again.
Great car rental service with wonderful customer service! Me and my wife got a nice camaro ss , we drove around the island with the top down and had an amazing time. The best customer service ever, got some tips to make our trip easier. Definitely will rent a car for next vacation with them.
David was communicative, pickup and drop off was easy with clear instructions, car drove well, overall very satisfied with our experience. Great cost friendly alternative to bigger car rental companies with a lot more flexibility, but come with the right expectations (i.e. don't expect a squeaky clean car)
This trip was amazing because of our car rental. It was super clean and drove really well. Great on gas. The host was also very attentive and nice :) 10/10 recommend.

The car was spotless, well maintained, and drove beautifully. Pick up was quick and easy. The car owner was friendly and also offered, and dropped us off to the airport as we had traveled from Melbourne. The car was exactly what I needed comfortable, fuel efficient, and reliable. Would absolutely rent from here again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a hassle-free car rental experience.

Amazing experience with both the car and the host! The vehicle was clean, well maintained, and exactly as described. Everything worked perfectly, and the car made the trip even more enjoyable. The host was very friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout the whole rental process. Communication was easy, pickup and drop-off were smooth, and overall everything felt professional and stress-free. Highly recommend renting from this host — definitely would book again!
Pick up was easy, car was very tidy, car was well maintained. Best car rental so far 🫡
Great service. Car was perfect. So much easier than dealing with rental cars
I enjoyed using this car for my solo trip to Brisbane and back. Easy to use. Has built in navigation and Bluetooth to connect my phone (for music). Host was easy to deal with. Responded promptly. Price also good.

Absolutely amazing experience renting this Mustang through Turo! The car was clean, well-maintained, and an absolute blast to drive. Everything about the rental process was smooth and easy from start to finish. The owner was incredibly friendly, responsive, and made the whole experience stress-free. You can tell they really care about both the vehicle and their guests. I would definitely rent from them again and highly recommend this Mustang to anyone looking for a fun and reliable ride!
Car quality was awesome. Comfortable and spacious and neatly tidy and well taken care of. Car rental was awesome and smooth and easy and comfortable. Thank you so much Zerin! Mahalo. Hope to rent from you again for more trips coming up.
Very happy with my car rental. Vehicle worked great for going around the island. the pickup and drop off process was super easy and smooth and the host very reliable. Would rent again.
Every thing went smoothly fast easy pick up, car was immaculate, & great value , overall great car rental experience
The host gave us clear instructions and communicated with us very well for a hassle-free car rental!

The car did everything we needed it to do. We felt like a local, the car was certainly clean for the price. I would rent again because the price was right and it was great on gas. Like an ant sipping water. Pick up and drop off was easy enough. Took us a few min to find the car then it was very easy to drop off. Mahalo.

As well as major attractions, you'll find laid-back cafes, walking tracks, swimming spots, and day trip options stretching from Palm Cove to the Atherton Tablelands.
Rent the perfect car
Cairns is the perfect starting point for unforgettable Great Barrier Reef experiences, with tours departing daily to snorkelling sites, outer-reef pontoons, and hotspots for incredible marine life. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a seasoned diver, the reef's coral gardens and clear waters offer something unforgettable — a once-in-a-lifetime Aussie experience.
Just two hours' drive north of Cairns, the Daintree is one of the oldest rainforests in the world, filled with leafy walking trails and incredible native flora and fauna. Explore Mossman Gorge, jump aboard the Daintree River ferry, or continue to Cape Tribulation, where rainforest meets reef. Some visitors choose to take an organised day trip here from Cairns, but it's also easily accessible in your own car.
Located right on the city's crystal-blue waterfront, the Cairns Esplanade Lagoon is a popular swimming spot for both locals and visitors. With lifeguards, shaded lawns, nearby cafes, and plenty of room to relax, you can enjoy the region's tropical climate without actually leaving the city. Bring the kids or a good book, and enjoy your day in the sun.
Driving in Cairns is mostly a breeze, but tropical weather and regional highways can bring conditions that differ from major cities. Here's what you need to know before settling behind the wheel.
To simplify your arrival at Cairns Airport, book your rental car on Turo and select a convenient off-airport pickup location, such as a nearby hotel or secure car park. After landing, head to the confirmed collection point and either complete an in-person handover or retrieve the keys from a secure drop box. From there, you’re ready to explore the scenic roads and tropical landscapes surrounding Cairns.
When it's time to return your rental car, simply bring it back to the same spot you collected it from near Cairns Airport, or coordinate an alternative location in the app ahead of time. Complete the handover by leaving the keys in the designated secure location. If the vehicle is parked in a secure car park, place the entry ticket inside the vehicle to allow for a smooth exit.
Cairns Airport sits just 7 kilometres north of the CBD, making it a quick 10 to 15 minute drive into town in your car hire from Turo. Drive along Airport Avenue, turn onto Lake Street, and you’ll be in the Cairns city centre in no time.
Cairns follows standard Australian road rules, like driving on the left-hand side of the road, obeying speed limits and road signs, wearing a seatbelt at all times, and only using your mobile phone on hands-free. Speed limits in the area start at 40 kilometres per hour (km/h) in school zones and the Cairns CBD, followed by 50 km/h on residential streets, 60 to 80 km/h on multi-lane roads, and 100 to 110 km/h on major highways.
In Queensland, it's illegal to make a U-turn unless there is a sign explicitly permitting it, and you must always give way to buses pulling out in front of you with their indicator already on. When driving through a roundabout, always yield to the vehicles already in the roundabout, and give way to cars on your right.
Driving conditions in Cairns are generally smooth, although tropical weather can cause sudden rain, reduced visibility, and slippery roads. During the wet season, take extra care on highways heading north to Port Douglas or south toward Innisfail, as flooding is very common.
Traffic in Cairns is usually quite light, with occasional congestion around Sheridan Street and the Captain Cook Highway during peak holiday periods. If you're planning day trips through the Atherton Tablelands or the Daintree region, expect winding roads, wildlife crossings, and rapidly changing weather — all part of the unique Far North Queensland driving experience.
Parking in Cairns tends to be pretty simple, thanks to the area's ample space and smaller population. You'll find a mix of paid and free options across the CBD, including convenient on-street parking and car parks at The Pier (1 Pier Point Road), the Lake Street multi-storey car park (104 Lake Street), and Cairns Central Shopping Centre (1/21 McLeod Street). If you're headed to the lively waterfront, use on-street metered parking along the Esplanade or Wharf Street.
No, there are no toll roads in Cairns or the surrounding region, so you can explore the area without worrying about additional costs. The closest toll roads are all the way in north Brisbane, a whopping 1,700 kilometres away.
Cairns has a laid-back, suburban feel, so it's not hard to find spots to fuel or charge up your rental car close to the city centre. There are several petrol stations within easy reach of the CBD, including the Ampol at 131-135 Sheridan Street, the BP on the corner of Martyn and Florence Streets, and the Shell at 79-83 Mulgrave Road. If you're looking for fuel in a pinch, simply drive down Sheridan Street, and you'll notice quite a few options.
Electric vehicle (EV) drivers can juice up at The Pier shopping centre's car park (1 Pier Point Road) or at Cairns Central Shopping Centre (1/21 McLeod Street), or select from a handful of independent chargers from Tesla and Chargefox, most of which are dotted around the waterfront section of the CBD. More charging sites are consistently being added throughout Far North Queensland, especially on major tourist routes — perfect for road-trippers.
It's possible to explore Cairns via bus, taxi, or organised tour, but most of the region's most popular attractions are spread far and wide, rendering them inaccessible via public transport. A rental car of your own makes it easier to reach spots like Palm Cove, Port Douglas, Kuranda, and the Atherton Tablelands on your schedule. If you want flexibility to see beyond the city centre, lock in your Cairns Airport car hire from Turo and hit the gorgeous, coastal roads whenever suits you best.
Book a rental car from Cairns Airport using Turo and take your pick of a broad mix of vehicles, including the latest makes and models. Cruise around the coast in a compact car, traditional sedan, or luxury vehicle, or maximise your space in a large SUV, minivan, or ute. Some of the most popular hire cars in Cairns include the sporty Toyota Corolla, the spacious Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, and the fuel-efficient Audi Q5 hybrid.
Whatever adventures you've got planned, you're bound to find the right rental car on Turo. Unlike traditional car rental companies, you'll always receive the exact vehicle you chose at checkout — at the best rates on the market.
